[Bug 98131] SAGE Simply Accounting does not accept OOo .xls exports as genuine Microsoft xls
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=98131 Rainer Bielefeld rainerbielefeld_ooo...@bielefeldundbuss.de changed: What|Removed |Added Status|CONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOT_AN_ISSUE --- Comment #9 from Rainer Bielefeld rainerbielefeld_ooo...@bielefeldundbuss.de --- That reporter tells a second time that he has a problem is not a confirmation. And this one looks like a SAGE Simply Accounting issue, not as an AOO issue. Reporter did not attach requested sample document, so closing issue due to reporter's inactivity. @reporter: First please contact SAGE support. This is probably their problem, not AOO's. If they want to accpet only .xls created with a MS product we do not have ambition to pretend that AOO's .xls have been created with Excel. Please feel free to reopen this Bug if contact with SAGE leads to comprehensible indications that there really is an AOO bug. If you reopen the Bug report we need a test kit (Attachment here in the Bug report) and a detailed step by step instruction how to reproduce your problem, for details please see http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/QA/HowToFileIssue! Additionally we would need a detailed description concerning the roots of the problem, I think it will be necessary that you find someone at SAGE support who is willing to collaborate. A simple somehow SAGE Simply Accounting does not want to eat your .xls is nothing what will cause any activity here. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=98131 --- Comment #10 from hoserjoe hoser...@telus.net --- When Rainer Bielefeld in Comment 9 concludes that we do not have ambition to pretend that AOO's .xls have been created with Excel, it becomes quite apparent that OO has a laziness problem that will relegate OO products to minor, insignificant status. It is to laugh when I read that OO can't be concerned with this issue since I'm not able to explain why AccPac won't read OO's xls files. If there is anything that will diminish an application's usefulness to the world, it's a lack of ambition. AccPac doesn't want to accommodate OO data because OO is irrelevant in the business world. It certainly appears from Comment 9 that OO is not the least concerned at being irrelevant. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. It is to laugh when I read that OO can't be concerned with this issue since I'm not able to explain why AccPac won't read OO's xls files. B2 = 0 C2 = 0 D2 = 1.5 * B2 - 9.81 * A2 = 0 E2 = A2 - 4 * (A2 - 0.5 * C2) = 0 In OpenOffice 3.3.0 or 3.2.1, the Solver recognizes this problem as infeasible. However in 4.0.1, it is reporting success with B2 = 0, C2 = 96, D2 = -627.84, E2 = 0. This violates the D2 constraint, so should not have been reported as a successful solution. I don't know when https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=118160 went into a release, but my guess is this problem is related to having changed the linear solver. As it happens I am a contributor to several COIN-OR projects, I'm quite familiar with those solvers so if the LP as sent from Calc to CoinMP looks correct I can help look into what's happening on the solver side. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. I am not a developer but it seems very similar to this one - confusion between CF_DIB and CF_DIBV5 causing corruption when copied image is pasted into some (IrfanView, Paint.NET) but not all (MS Paint, GIMP) image editors, and I think it will be very simple to fix. [Bug 124109] Deletion of Table Column Causes Crash
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=124109 --- Comment #3 from Sam Jennings samjenni...@hotmail.com --- My subsequent efforts to get this to crash the whole program have not worked, and the original file was modified and saved over, so i do not have the original anymore. I have made a replacement file, which is not causing the problem in its original form, but it is still DEFINITELY causing a problem. There are many permutations of the problem. To underscore that, I have included 3 tables in the file. In each case, when you delete the column by selecting column cells and using the tool pallet, the table is either fully deleted, or it is modified in an undesired way. In each case, you merge some or all cells in the top row, and then delete a column beneath the merged cells. It might happen in more cases than this, but this much is, itself, consistent. To get specific (so your database has some searchable text on this topic) if you make a table and merge all cells of the top row (select them all and click merge cells on the tool pallet) it will unify the top row of the table. Now select two cells from a column beneath the top row, and, in the tool pallet, click delete column. That will cause the entire TABLE to be deleted. If you don't merge the entire top row, it will merely deface the table beyond recognition, deleting all but one column. The file I'm attaching has more examples. You should play with it to get an idea. I believe this column deletion bug was somehow a trigger for the larger problem I observed yesterday, because it was the very last thing I had done when it crashed, and I did get it to crash twice with the same file, and on the same column deletion. The originally reported crashing part of this bug is definitely still under the surface, but how to tease it out is unclear to me. By the way, (and I know... maybe this should be a separate bug report, but it could be material to this crash incident), I have also seen tables go into a state where table attributes can no longer be modified. Specifically, the pallet of table tools becomes inactive when table cells are selected. I had seen that before the crashes started happening. For unknown reasons the table had gone from editable to uneditable... and then somehow I got it back to editable again, but there was something flaky going on underneath that, and loading the file and reediting that table the same way crashed the program consistently , even after closing and reopening openoffice. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=90476 --- Comment #6 from timdeaton t...@timdeaton.org --- I am very sorry to see the attitude expressed in Edwin's post. After all, I'm not asking for anything that hasn't been in Microsoft Excel for more than 17 years. (If Excel could do it in 1997, surely Calc should be able to do it by 2014.) I frequently want to crop overlay two Google Maps screenshots so they fit together. Or save an entire year of cropped screenshots of payroll tax confirmation screens on the same spreadsheet page. Excel is not a graphic editor either. Yet it's far easier to use it for the purposes I described than Word or Paint. By contrast, doing the same thing in OpenOffice Calc 3.x is torture. (I haven't used 4.x, but the comments here lead me to believe it hasn't changed.) I'll leave the status for appropriate project managers to correct. [Bug 124065] [Performance] Low performance opening attached .ods
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=124065 --- Comment #9 from wujinl...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Andre from comment #8) (In reply to wujinlong from comment #6) Hi Andre, - Documenting clearly in sc/in/document.hxx that the returned ScRangeName is volatile, ie can change at any time. Checking that the calling code can handle this volatility is part of the change, right? I don't see this should be part of this fix. Two reasons, 1. There is such volatility issue existing in the original code for a long time. The original code uses Clone() to make a copy of the ScRangeName object, and at last the cloned ScRangeName object is set back to the Document object. The key point is there is performance issue in the code, and we are trying to fix that by not using Clone(). 2. If we use something like lock to resolve the volatility issue, it might introduce new performance issues. And we need to do more testing to make sure of that. So in summary, if you think we need to address this volatility issue more decently, I propose to do that in a separate task. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
