So, are you using the Office 2003 Calender? Or some other application?

Can you please be a little more clear about exactly what it is that
you are trying to do? What program are you working with, what
   version
of JAWS are you using, exactly what do you need to do with the
textbox, is the textbox part of a program that you are using or do

Subject: [JAWS-Users] microsoft word question

Hi all;
I have 10.00 and XP home.
When I am in Microsoft word and go to the list of files by hitting Control
O.
I then shift tab until I get the list of files.
It seems that JAWS does not read the entire list.
JAWS seems to read every third file.
I will hit the say line and JAWS reads the name of the file and says 11
of 83.
I down arrow once and it says the name of the file 14 of 83.
I can't find 12 and 13.
It's like this down the entire list, reading third file.

Thanks for any help.

In some combo boxes, there are blank lines, as it were marking off
 sections
or blank anyway. So, alt+Down-arrow, then down-arrow, and continue to
down-arrow to get where you want. If JAWS isn't reading for some reason,
hit JAWSKey+Up-Arrow - the JAWS Say Current Line command, on such a line
 you
think it should read. Also, be sure your screen echo says (at least)
'highlighted' - JAWSKey+s cycles between None, highlighted, and All.

On ChannelChooser.com, the combo boxes are large, and should read ok.
 they
do for me. (Using JAWS10, and internet Explorer 7.)

Re: [JAWS-Users] microsoft word question

2009-02-12 Thread Jon C. Pierson
Hi,
If you reread her original email you will see that you missed part of her
description of the problem.
Jaws is announcing file position as she downarrows through the list and is
skipping in increments of three.
If she was only showing one file type, Jfw would still number them correctly
i.e. 1 of 2, 2 of 2 and so on.
One of the first responses explained that this is either a grid or icon view
being displayed and that right arrowing would show the rest of the files.
In other words,3 files per line are displaying with 1 through 3 on the top
line, 4 through 6 on the next line and so on.
So naturally, downarrowing on file one will bring you to file 4, and then
seven with the view set up this way.

Greetings everyone,

When I first started with the jaws users list, I wrote a
introduction message stating my name and the fact that I lived in Hamilton
Ohio. Someone name Greg posted a message indicating they lived in Hamilton
also. They also indicated they had been using jaws for a long time. I would
like to contact Greg, because I don't know anyone in Hamilton who uses
jaws.and to meet someone would really be neat. So Greg from Hamilton,
contact me at mrbib...@cinci.rr.com I look forward to hearing from you.

My next question, since the files are in a grid.
Is there a way to change it from a grid and have only one file per line?

Thanks

Hi,
If you reread her original email you will see that you missed part of her
description of the problem.
Jaws is announcing file position as she downarrows through the list and is
skipping in increments of three.
If she was only showing one file type, Jfw would still number them
correctly

i.e. 1 of 2, 2 of 2 and so on.
One of the first responses explained that this is either a grid or icon
view

being displayed and that right arrowing would show the rest of the files.
In other words,3 files per line are displaying with 1 through 3 on the top
line, 4 through 6 on the next line and so on.
So naturally, downarrowing on file one will bring you to file 4, and then
seven with the view set up this way.

Rich,

It sounds like you've got your list of files in Thumbnails view, where
they are in rows and columns.

So long as your version of Word is later than 97, the following should
work.

After you've pressed Control O, press Tab until you're on the Look In
combo, then Tab once more to get to a button. This is actually the first
in a horizontal list so press RightArrow until you get to Views listbox
and then DownArrow to List or Details and press Enter.

List will just give you the filenames, Details will give you other
information like date and size as well.

Re: [JAWS-Users] microsoft word question

2009-02-12 Thread Flor Lynch
In the view menu - alt-v, press enter on list to checkmark it. Thereafter,
you can go back (if you want) into the VIEW MENU to checkmark details, and
Hsee how that goes.

 Hello:
After you hit ctrl-O, use the forward tab and select all files '*.*', then
when you tab to the files list, it won't skip any. Wayne

 Subject: [JAWS-Users] microsoft word question

 Hi all;
I have 10.00 and XP home.

 Rich

[JAWS-Users] Excel - fill column with 1's

2009-02-12 Thread Bill Tipton
Hi all,

How can I fill a column in a Excel 2003 spreadsheet range with 1's? For example
f3-f420.

I want to have a column where I can easily add up the number of rows with data.
Then I can use that total for other calculations.

I am using Jaws 9.

Thank you,

Bill

Re: [JAWS-Users] Excel - fill column with 1's

2009-02-12 Thread Ann byrne

1. Place the number '1' in a cell and copy it to the clip board.
2. select the cells you want the number in--f5, then type in the cell range.
3. Paste the cell you copied into the first cell of the selected range.

You're in business.

Well, if you just want to know how they are set, use insert F-1. This will
give you a window with a lot of info about your file.

Hi All,

How does one check the existing margins in current Word documents to see if
they should be changed to default or personal settings? All enlightenment
to brighten this dim bulb will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much. Take
care.
