Hi Jim,

Go to:

http://www.adobe.com

After the page loads, use the Jaws find for, flash,
and press enter on the link for Flash Player.
On the next page, just press the letter H, for headings until you come
to,

install Flash Player.
Arrow down and you will find that the website has already identified your
operating system and browser.
Make sure to uncheck the box for installing Google Chrome, and then press
enter on the download button.
Just follow the prompts on the resulting page as the player is installed.

Hi George,
Insert + Shift + R, is a Jaws command, the other
key combinations are for the e-mail clients.
Normally speaking, if a key combination includes the insert or Jaws key, it
is for a Jaws script.

Denny,
So, if insert + shift + R is to reply.

Then, insert + shift + F should forward.

These are new commands for me and just want to correct my notes.

For one thing, it's insert shift r, not insert shift control. And it works

Just make sure the message is open when doing the reply.
What version of Jaws are you using?

control, shift, + R, replies to all. Thank you all very much for your

2013-09-24 Thread Abdulaziz Dapilin
Hello Jorge, if you mean to paste every text you have copied in such order
you did the append commands somewhere in your computer, simply do the
standard paste command Control + V in an active edit field and it shall
paste all texts in such sequence. However, if you intend to paste just a
portion of copied texts somewhere and paste another portion in another
locations, or if you plan to paste all copied texts in a sequence you
prefer, You may need to let JAWS show all current texts on the windows
clipboard. Do the layered keystroke Insert Space then C to display all text
you previously copied in a result/clipboard viewer. Navigate to the portion
of text you wish to paste somewhere else, select it and copy this portion of
text using Control + C, you will be prompted to overwrite the current text
on the windows clipboard, choose yes. Move to the app where you intend to
paste the copied portion of texts using the standard paste command Control +
V. if you have some more texts to be pasted or if you plan to paste another
portion of texts in another edit locations, just alt tab back to the result
viewer and repeat the same procedure. After doing all necessary actions,
move back to the results viewer if you are not focused yet and tap alt + F4
or just escape to exit the viewer.

I hope I didn't confused you, Thanks and God Bless.

LOL Well, to be perfectly honest, I kind of hit any unlabeled buttons
until I find the right one. I try to figure out which one by placement,
but usually guess wrong at least once. If the enter key doesn't work, I
use the spacebar. I've not had to resort to using the JAWS cursor as a
mouse click on this particular site.

Why do you need that JAWS command when ctrl R which is an outlook

also replies directly to sender?

Insert shift r = reply directly to sender, and ctrL f = forward.

So, if insert + shift + R is to reply.

Then, insert + shift + F should forward.

[JAWS-Users] Email Addresses, Getting Them Using The, Alt + 1, Keystroke

2013-09-24 Thread Mike B.
If your reply directly / privately to sender keystroke isn't working here is
a work around. If you are using Jaws you can get the senders email address
doing the
following:
1. With the email open, press, Alt + 1 on the number row, to make sure the
persons name is in the, From field.
2. If it's there press, Alt + 1, twice quickly. Pressing, Alt + 1 twice
quickly brings the focus to the from field.
3. Press the home key to move the cursor to the beginning of the line,
press, shift + End key, that's the E N D key, to select the text from the
cursor to the end of the line, copy this to the clipboard. I.e,

Mike B. mb69ma...@charter.net

After copying the Name / email address, it does not have to be edited at
all. You do not need to remove the less or greater signs.
4. Now paste this into the, To, field of a new email or reply, go to the
message body, put in your message, send as usual.

Take care.

Have you tried clicking on continue?
That should take you to another page that tells you what you have selected

You should also find a cancel button, and if you go on beyond that you
should see an option to download to your computer.
Choose to use the amazon downloader, and be sure you install it on your PC.

I did press continue to get to where I am having the problem. I can get
Jaws to read confirm purchase (or something like that). However, Jaws
does not indicate it is a button or link. I tried clicking on it anyways

Have you tried clicking on continue?
That should take you to another page that tells you what you have selected
to purchase.

You should also find a cancel button, and if you go on beyond that you
should see an option to download to your computer.
Choose to use the amazon downloader, and be sure you install it on your PC.

That is just weird. My most recent purchase, showed me my amount, item name,
tax, shipping, where it was to be sent to, all that info right on the

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 15 Configuration manager?

2013-09-24 Thread Rick Justice
Hi Vicky,
The text in that particular book is outdated
there hasn't been a configuration manager for several versions.
The replacement for it is, Settings Center,
which can still be gotten to by using insert + F2.
There is a Daisy book explaining the Settings Center.
When you hit enter on it from the table of contents,
it will either open, or be downloaded if you don't already have it.
This new FS Reader 3.0 is one of the best things that has been included in

Nice to see that someone is making use of the training material.

I made several voice profiles according to the Daisy instructions.

The part I haven't gotten to work right, is getting them asociated with a
particular program or just for Dialog boxes and tutor messages.

Some how, the changes are being set as my globle default instead.

When I followed the instructions, I never got the indavidual program name to

Yeah, it does work, I will remember that.

I use another way:
From the open message, I shift + tab 5 times until I hear the From dialog.
Press the control + left arrow to bring you to the beginning of the address
info.
Press Shift + down arrow to select the text..
Then, control + C to copy.

Take care.
Mike

Man, with all of this discussion it's great that collectively we all found a
solution, but can't the jaws key shift r just plain work! Lol
On the Defunct blind-computing mailing list, I performed that keystroke,
used some colorful language, then saw my email pop through the
blind-computing list. I was like whaa? When did I type an email to the list,
and it was the one I wrote that was suppose to go to the person directly.
Then david f put me in check lol and that was when I found out the hard way
jaws key shift r didn't work, at least for me.

Hi Mike,
Yeah, it does work, I will remember that.

I use another way:
From the open message, I shift + tab 5 times until I hear the From dialog.
Press the control + left arrow to bring you to the beginning of the address
info.
Press Shift + down arrow to select the text..
Then, control + C to copy.

George,
ctrL r would reply back to dennie if it were simply he and you in the
discussion, but in this case, all of us saw the email since this is a
mailing list, so you are not replying to him offline directly, if that is
what you meant?

No command war going on from where I sit, it's good I think that we clear
this up as we have all types on here. Everyone can benefit! Smile!
I know I was thrown off with the insert shift f. I mean with a thousand
keystrokes out there, I was like, when was that one added? Lol.
Peace George!

Denny,
I just read this mail and I think you got the commands backwards.
I am responding back with Control + R only, which is to contact you
privately off line.

Jorge

PS-
Man, I started a command war, when I asked about the insert + shift + F
which was garbage.

On a list such as this one, a control r replies to the entire list. Insert
shift r only replies back to the sender of the message.

Why do you need that JAWS command when ctrl R which is an outlook command
also replies directly to sender?

Insert shift r = reply directly to sender, and ctrL f = forward.
I just tried insert shift f, got nothing.

Denny,
So, if insert + shift + R is to reply.

Then, insert + shift + F should forward.

These are new commands for me and just want to correct my notes.

Thanks.

For one thing, it's insert shift r, not insert shift control. And it
works OK in my version of Outlook 2010.
Just make sure the message is open when doing the reply.
What version of Jaws are you using?

Hi Denny Jorge, Susie, Tom,

Everyone that I have asked has said that the, insert, shift, + control
keystroke, does not work in Outlook 2010. So, I was asking to get a
broader opinion as to see if I could get a working reply directly to
sender keystroke to add to my list. Control + r, replies to the current
message control, shift, + R, replies to all. Thank you all very much
for your replies input.
Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 15 Configuration manager?

2013-09-24 Thread Rick Justice
Hi Vicky,
Once you have made a profile,go to the application you wish to use it in.
Now, from within that application, I used Notepad for my test,
use the key combination, Control + Insert + S to open the speech profiles
dialogue.
If you tab, you will find the application listed, and you can choose your
profile from the list.
For example, I have Eloquence as my default,
FS Reader for the FS Reader, and one called Notepad for Notepad.
Select the profile you want for the application you are in, and tab to okay.
I did notice that there is a slight hesitation in speech when switching
from one application to another.
Also, my profile for Notepad, seemed to carry over to the Jaws window,
but pressing the Windows key once to change the focus, and then once more to
leave the start menu,
restored the default for the Jaws window.
I hope I didn't confuse you with this. smile
I sure liked the old way of doing it.
HTH,
Rick Justice

Hi Vicky,
Actually, I have never created a voice profile for a particular application,
so I would have to give it a try first.
I can do that, and in the mean time, someone else on the list may
have a quicker answer.

Thank you Rick! That helped clarify things for me.

If you don't mind a second question, would you help with this?

I made several voice profiles according to the Daisy instructions.

The part I haven't gotten to work right, is getting them asociated with a
particular program or just for Dialog boxes and tutor messages.

Some how, the changes are being set as my globle default instead.

When I followed the instructions, I never got the indavidual program name to
come up on the window title.

Are you able to figure out what I need to do?

Many thanks! Vicky

Hi Vicky,
The text in that particular book is outdated
there hasn't been a configuration manager for several versions.
The replacement for it is, Settings Center,
which can still be gotten to by using insert + F2.
There is a Daisy book explaining the Settings Center.
When you hit enter on it from the table of contents,
it will either open, or be downloaded if you don't already have it.
This new FS Reader 3.0 is one of the best things that has been included in
Jaws in a long time.
Nice to see that someone is making use of the training material.

Hi list, I am using the Jaws 15 Beta on a Windows 7 desktop computer. I was
in the Daisy book for Speech and Sounds Manager and following its
instructions. However, When I pressed either Insert F2 or Insert number row
6, neither resulting list had “Configuration Manager” there.

Would you see if you get this or if you can tell me what I am doing wrong, I
would grately appreciate it.

Many thanks, Vicky
