Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010, Forwarding question on new command
Hi George, Insert + Shift + R, is a Jaws command, the other key combinations are for the e-mail clients. Normally speaking, if a key combination includes the insert or Jaws key, it is for a Jaws script. Re: [JAWS-Users] Appending to the clipbard with Jaws 15
Hello Jorge, if you mean to paste every text you have copied in such order you did the append commands somewhere in your computer, simply do the standard paste command Control + V in an active edit field and it shall paste all texts in such sequence. However, if you intend to paste just a portion of copied texts somewhere and paste another portion in another locations, or if you plan to paste all copied texts in a sequence you prefer, You may need to let JAWS show all current texts on the windows clipboard. Do the layered keystroke Insert Space then C to display all text you previously copied in a result/clipboard viewer. Navigate to the portion of text you wish to paste somewhere else, select it and copy this portion of text using Control + C, you will be prompted to overwrite the current text on the windows clipboard, choose yes. Move to the app where you intend to paste the copied portion of texts using the standard paste command Control + V. if you have some more texts to be pasted or if you plan to paste another portion of texts in another edit locations, just alt tab back to the result viewer and repeat the same procedure. After doing all necessary actions, move back to the results viewer if you are not focused yet and tap alt + F4 or just escape to exit the viewer. [JAWS-Users] Email Addresses, Getting Them Using The, Alt + 1, Keystroke
If your reply directly / privately to sender keystroke isn't working here is a work around. If you are using Jaws you can get the senders email address doing the following: 1. With the email open, press, Alt + 1 on the number row, to make sure the persons name is in the, From field. 2. If it's there press, Alt + 1, twice quickly. Pressing, Alt + 1 twice quickly brings the focus to the from field. 3. Press the home key to move the cursor to the beginning of the line, press, shift + End key, that's the E N D key, to select the text from the cursor to the end of the line, copy this to the clipboard. I.e, Mike B. mb69ma...@charter.net After copying the Name / email address, it does not have to be edited at all. You do not need to remove the less or greater signs. 4. Now paste this into the, To, field of a new email or reply, go to the message body, put in your message, send as usual. Take care. Mike This email was sent from my, iBarstool. Hi list, I am using the Jaws 15 Beta on a Windows 7 desktop computer. I was in the Daisy book for Speech and Sounds Manager and following its instructions. Hi Vicky, The text in that particular book is outdated there hasn't been a configuration manager for several versions. The replacement for it is, Settings Center, which can still be gotten to by using insert + F2. There is a Daisy book explaining the Settings Center. Man, with all of this discussion it's great that collectively we all found a solution, but can't the jaws key shift r just plain work! Lol On the Defunct blind-computing mailing list, I performed that keystroke, used some colorful language, then saw my email pop through the blind-computing list. I was like whaa? Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 15 Configuration manager?
Hi Vicky, Once you have made a profile,go to the application you wish to use it in. Now, from within that application, I used Notepad for my test, use the key combination, Control + Insert + S to open the speech profiles dialogue. If you tab, you will find the application listed, and you can choose your profile from the list. For example, I have Eloquence as my default, FS Reader for the FS Reader, and one called Notepad for Notepad. Select the profile you want for the application you are in, and tab to okay. I did notice that there is a slight hesitation in speech when switching from one application to another. Also, my profile for Notepad, seemed to carry over to the Jaws window, but pressing the Windows key once to change the focus, and then once more to leave the start menu, restored the default for the Jaws window. I hope I didn't confuse you with this. smile I sure liked the old way of doing it.
