[JAWS-Users] Files in Word 2010 will not delete

2014-02-15 Thread Liuda
I am trying to clean up Documents in Win. 7, using JAWS 12 and Word 2010. It
seems like another file has been created, duplicating an existing one. In
the process, the title has been corrupted as well. Now, when I try to delete
these unnecessary files, I hear that the file does not exist and must be
found somewhere else or something to this effect.

What can I do to delete these files?

   Thanks for all suggestions.

Are you going into the default Settings Center? (Ctrl+Shift+d.) That's
where you need to go, if you want to make changes universal. In my case,
Windows7 64-bit. Latest build of JAWS15 using Eloquence, I have: number
processing controlled by synthesizer, and it speaks single digits; if
number contains 5 or more digits, speak single digits; and, if number
contains dashes, checked, and it speaks single digits (as it should). be
sure to cycle through the values in that dialogue with spacebar for all
of the relevant items until you reach the one you want set. If prompted
to save changes you made when exiting, do so.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Resetting the location of a saved new Doc or attachment

2014-02-15 Thread Jorge Rivas
Hello Denny,
I tried the steps you described and I could not make it work.

So, I called MS Accessibility for the problem I had of saving a doc and
installing my PST file I had in a thumb drive because I had a little
problem there too in the data file management menu.
Because I had tried to paste the file in one of the headings and I failed.

And mainly for the clean up service they offer of your PC, which is awesome.

The tech said, he reset the destination point of a save doc.

Well, this morning I check it and it didn't work.

So, I just cut it out from the library and pasted it into my Documents.
I notice my Mywarebytes got disable when I ran a scan because I read the
Mywarebytes Text doc.
And its not also in my system tray.
The system tray for Mywarebytes had a menu when you opened it
And I believe there was a disable section there.
I open the submenu of Mywarebytes and looked around to try to figure my next
step.
Denny, how do you add a program to the system tray?
That might help my problem.

Thanks,
Well, Denny have a great weekend.

Jorge

If you're using MS Word 2010 you can do an alt t for tools, followed by O
for options. Arrow down to, save and then tab to the browse button and
press enter. Select your default folder for saving documents to here. This
will change it for Word but I'm not positive it will change it for Outlook
or not.

Hi

You can use the scan program to scan the document. Once it is saved, there
should be an option to save the scanned image to disk, usually in the File
menu. Save the document somewhere where you can easily find it. Then when
you start a new email, you can attach the saved file.

2014-02-15 Thread david
hello;
try;

insert+f2=run jaws manager dialog.

2, press the letter s=setting center press enter.

3, now type digit into the edit field,
it should find one result,
now press, ctrl+shift+d=default,
 down arrow and press enter,
now you should see;
speak single digits closed.
right arrow to open,
down arrow you should hear;
if numbers contain dashes checked,
if it not checked, then press spacebar, if you tab you will read slash see,
When selected, numbers that contain dashes without spaces are read as
individual digits. Telephone number formatting, where a dash is preceded by
and followed by a digit, is an example of this type of number string. This
check box is used in conjunction with the Number Processing combo box. This
means that JAWS processes numbers based on the current selection in the
Number Processing combo box. This check box is selected by default.

The Windows list announcement that I heare is, internet explorer on top,
internet explorer on top, jaws minimized . in addition to jaws which I
expect to hear, there are two instances of internet explorer running. That
makes three programs running on start up. But when I try to go to one of the
explorers there is nothing there. They do not seem to be really running. I
try to close them and can't . I have gone to the msconfig, start up page
and can not find anything that sounds, to me, like internet explorer, to un
check. CAN you tell me how to prevent these, explorer programs from
starting when I turn on the computer? Thank you.

Here's what to do.
1. open a program that you know is not maximized.
2. now go to autosizer in the system tray. Hit Enter.
3. Now arrow down to where you hear, autosize now and hit enter.
4. now go back into that program you opened, and see if it's
maximized, by
hit alt X,and arrowing down the choices you have. If it says maximized
unavailable, that means it is maximized, and the program is working
like it
's supposed to do. Jim

[JAWS-Users] Qihoo Antivirus

2014-02-15 Thread Aran_A

Hello,

Since I realized that Microsoft Security Essential is not good I tried several
free and not free antivirus and security programs.

Today I found Qihoo 360 Internet Security, a free program. It has very good
reviews, and as much as I can tell it is a JAWS accessible.

Does anybody here have any experience and knowledge concerning Qihoo 360
Internet Security?

Thank you!

P.S. I found out about the software in the following site:

I'm not 100% sure but I think you have to install an add-on to get download
sounds. Could be wrong though, but I don't know where that feature is. You
can get add-ons at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
There are download manager add-ons that do this. There is also an add-on
called Navigational Sounds that uses Internet Explorer-like sound effects
for a few things including downloads. You can't customize the sounds though.
But that's the one I use.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Question about lap top jaws curser keys:

2014-02-15 Thread John R Vaughn
Angel,
First of all, be sure you have the jaws program set to use the laptop
keyboard and not the desktop.
You do this in the jaws menu, jaws key plus letter j,
Then o for options and B for basics and tab to the control for use keyboard
layout and down arrow to classic laptop and then tab to okay.

For the keyboard commands:
Go to jaws help,
Insert J,
Then h for help
Then down arrow to jaws keyboard command and right arrow on laptop keyboard
Now do a F6 to go to the screen where you can read the information about the
various jaws laptop commands

You can highlight all the text and copy it to the clipboard and then paste
it into a word or word pad document for reference.
Also, with the laptop on, go to keyboard help
Jaws key plus number 1 on the numbers row and try using the jaws key plus
any other key combination to hear which key does what.
On my sony laptop, the insert or jaws key (second key in from the right on
the top row of the keyboard or just to the right of the pause key or two
keys to the right of the F11 key) is the jaws key as is the cap lock key.
It may be different on your brand.
Below is a copy of the pages in jaws help for laptop commands, but there are
more and you can find them.

Re: [JAWS-Users] IE 10 Jaws 15

2014-02-15 Thread Flor Lynch
None at present, but in the future - say, when Windows XP stops being
supported by Web site aplications - IE8 might not be supported sooner
than IE10. Also, interesting whether visiting Google groups and such,
alerts one in Windows7 that their (IE8) browser is not supported.

Hi Again Matt Martin,

Okay, I finally got the download sound working. First, I couldn't get it

pressed enter, I'll be darned, the download sound now works! Thanks

Re: [JAWS-Users] Maximizing With Windows 7

2014-02-15 Thread Liuda
Al, it is not hidden, according to the check. Should it start in a normal,
minimized or maximized window? And, should there be any comment typed into
that field? Now, I know this program is on this system, so I assume it must
be working, although this assumption does not necessarily follow if on the
computer, right? It still is not in my System Tray for whatever reason and
since it is not hidden, I have no idea where it is. I think it is in the
Start Menu, so it must start with everything else which is a good thing, I
would think.
All of this was just so darn easy with XP, compared to Win 7.
Good evening.

Here's what to do.
1. open a program that you know is not maximized.
2. now go to autosizer in the system tray. Hit Enter.
3. Now arrow down to where you hear, autosize now and hit enter.
4. now go back into that program you opened, and see if it's maximized, by
hit alt X,and arrowing down the choices you have. If it says maximized
unavailable, that means it is maximized, and the program is working like it
's supposed to do. Jim
