Hi Judy & Tally,
Did those notes work for you?
I was wondering because I never did it that way.
I figure it was easier to ask, then to mess with it, cause I was just ready
to delete.

Hi Judy & Tallie,
to select roughly half the files in a folder:
1. select a file roughly half way down the list of files.
2. press shift + home. This selects all the files from the originally
selected file to the first file. (alternatively use shift + end to select
all the files from he originally selected file to the last file.)

David.

Hi, list, At work we download tons of books from BARD and have folders
broken down by db numbers on a network drive. One of these folders has
gotten too large; it takes me too long to locate a certain book. I want to
make two folders instead of one and have half the files in each folder.
Again these are files on a network drive. Is there a relatively painless way
to select a large number of files and move them into a new folder? To do it
a couple at a time would take forever. Thanks in advance. Judy & Tallie

 Hi

I’m trying out the JFW 16 Beta and looking at the enhanced
 voice profiles
feature. I have defined a voice profile using Sapi 4
 Synthesizers for both
English and Icelandic. Jaws does not switch over to my
 Icelandic voice when
it finds the language tag but just says Icelandic.

Don’t sapi 4 Synths support language detection?

 Best regards

Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS Dongle

2014-09-14 Thread Mike Boyd

It's a very simple form, and FS only wants to know why you want the dongle,
and some basic information about you. Nothing very personal. I have one, and
it was very easy to get. I just told them that I traveled around a lot and
did not want to haul a computer around with me. I also was having to
reinstall JAWS often at that time, and FS did not like me requesting
Activations. The dongle will cost you $45, but I like having it. Now, I can
just plug it into any computer, and depending on who owns the computer,
either install the correct version of the program for their PC, or use the
latest portable version, which still requires the installation of the video
intercept on the computer, but this can be removed after use. One thing that
I don't like about it is that I have two laptops, and sometimes I want to
use JAWS on both of them at the same time. I am not sure if I can get
another one for $45, but I doubt it. Another thing, FS has the dongle rigged
up so that it will not appear in the list of drives in File Explorer or My
Computer. So, forget trying to make another copy. LOL.

Hello All,

I purchased my SMA's the other day for 16 & 17 and tried to purchase a

fill-out a form and get approved for the purchase. What is this form the

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 15 and the nFL Audio Pass subscription

2014-09-14 Thread TheHangMan
Tom,
Thanks for reminding me of Tune in radio.
I had the app buried in a music folder in my iPhone.
I don't remember, if the app was free or I bought it.
I did listen to the Yankee game.

I went to the Tune in website and saw they wanted money, so later on that.

The NFL Audio Pass works very well with Jaws 15.

There is a free trial through September 15, 2014, price for a one year
subscription after that is only $39.99.

1.You get to listen to all pre-season games.
2. You get to listen to all regular season games.
3. You get to listen to all playoff games.
4. You get to listen to the superbowl.
5. You get to listen to the last three years of all NFL football games.
6. You get to choose the hoem or away broadcasters on every game.
7. You can listen from now through July 31 2015 before it renews on August
1, 2015, at the price of $39.99.

Personally, I think this is a cheap price for all the NfL games, very clear
audio of the games.
Let me know here on the list if anyone else buys a subscription like i am
going to do, let me know what you think.
sorry i did not post this sooner, I just found out about it.

Preparing to fly away, searching out their prey.

Awesome is the sight, their wings in flight.

Gliding towards the ground, their food soon found.

I like many others have prepaid for their next 2 Professional SMA's for J16

personally owned computers, has anyone heard if customers that have prepaid

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 15 and the nFL Audio Pass subscription

2014-09-14 Thread leonard morris
I've used NFL audio league pass for many years and its great. I also
subscribe to game pass to watch games or listen in my case. (smile)
However, you have to be out of the United States to subscribe to this
service. So, when in the States I had to subscribe to game rewind which
allows you to watch games after they have been played. The advantage of
game pass and game rewind is games that are archived commercials and
half time are removed.

5. You get to listen to the last three years of all NFL football
games.

6. You get to choose the hoem or away broadcasters on every game.
7. You can listen from now through July 31 2015 before it renews on
August 1, 2015, at the price of $39.99.

Personally, I think this is a cheap price for all the NfL games, very
clear audio of the games.
Let me know here on the list if anyone else buys a subscription like i
am going to do, let me know what you think.

sorry i did not post this sooner, I just found out about it.

also to either edit or select all i have to enter forms mode, or do
insert z what ever that does.

Why is jaws placing the subject line in the body of the email?
What settings do i need to set for jaws to work correctly in thunderbird?

No, George. but arguably a donggle would have prevented an authorization
lapse (probably) for your J14. Freedom Scientific is very cautious about
distributing donggles, they say and use it for their exasperated selves and
customers when the latter have authorization issues for some reason. Were
you able to re-authorize your J14? .

2014-09-14 Thread Daniel Macdonald
>From a conversation with Jim Ellsworth, as I recall it. Donggkles are provided

the donggle essentially hardwires JAWS in current and future versions to one's
computer, avoiding the problem of authorizing with each upgrade. It's not hard
to see that the donggle, unless it has built in fraud protection, could enable
anyone to use JAWS without a license. So how do I know? I had to request
re-ups to my update authorizations twice in the last six months due to computer
issues. Yes, the donggle is interesting. Anything to streamline the somewhat
cumbersome authorization process is welcome in my house.

Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS Dongle

2014-09-14 Thread Jim Pursley
No, George. but arguably a donggle would have prevented an
authorization lapse (probably) for your J14. Freedom Scientific is very
cautious about distributing donggles, they say and use it for their
exasperated selves and customers when the latter have authorization
issues for some reason. Were you able to re-authorize your J14? .

Well, later on that date my other pc, which had jaws 14 since 2013 went into
40 minute mode.
I figured that was Freedom protecting the jaws ownership of the product.
I am sure that has happen to many users.
Are we on the same track, or I'm in a different one?

From a conversation with Jim Ellsworth, as I recall it. Donggkles are
provided when JAWS users need repeat refreshes of authorizations.
the donggle essentially hardwires JAWS in current and future versions to
one's computer, avoiding the problem of authorizing with each upgrade.
It's not hard to see that the donggle, unless it has built in fraud
protection, could enable anyone to use JAWS without a license. So how do I
know? I had to request re-ups to my update authorizations twice in the last
six months due to computer issues. Yes, the donggle is interesting.
Anything to streamline the somewhat cumbersome authorization process is
welcome in my house.

What is this form the sales person speaks of?. He said that he would

Are you talking about, when Jaws goes into 40 minute mode for some reason?
Last week I called Freedom and was asking about the update to jaws15 and
gave them my jaws serial number and I have installed in two laptops.
Well, later on that date my other pc, which had jaws 14 since 2013 went into
40 minute mode.
I figured that was Freedom protecting the jaws ownership of the product.
I am sure that has happen to many users.
Are we on the same track, or I'm in a different one?

HTH,
Jorge

[JAWS-Users] hotkey to mute jaws

I am having a senior moment and I cannot think of the hotkey combination to

Providing for their chicks, food diverse and mixed.

Re: [JAWS-Users] How to quiet keys or announcements in jaws.

2014-09-14 Thread Steve
To quiet a key, go into settings manager with Insert-f2. Find the Settings
and open it. Find Keyboard treview and open it. Find key Labels and open
it; it is I think the fifth down in the list of eight.

Now, you can see all the different keyboard settings. Find return/enter and
check the box to mute it.

[JAWS-Users] Changing the Numbering in MS-Word2010 Outline

2014-09-14 Thread Annette Carr
Hello All,

I am using MS-Word2010, JAWS 14 and JAWS 15, and Windows7 on both 32bit and
64 bit machines.

I want to change the numbering of the Outline feature in MS-Word. What I
want is

. Level 1 to be 1, 2, 3, etc

. Level 2 to be 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc

. Level 3 to be 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3.1.2.1, 1.2.2.1.3.1, 1.3.2, etc.

. Level 4 to be 1.1.1.a, 1.1.1.b.1.1.2.a, 1.1.2.b.1.2.1.a, etc.

I can even live with Level 1 being capital letters, A, B, C, etc. and Level
4 being lower case letters, with Levels 2 & 3 being numbers. I want Levels
2, 3 & 4 to show the entire numbering sequence as I've shown above.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Annette

[JAWS-Users] Date and Time on Outlook 2010 messages Posted yesterday>

2014-09-14 Thread Liuda Balcius
Where can I go to adjust the sent header on incoming messages using Outlook
2010, Win 7 and JAWS 14??? When I read messages in the list view, only time
is given and date has disappeared. Now, there is not a date, but only
time. This is very confusing at times. I really need to get back the date
somehow and have no idea why it disappeared at all. I think my outgoing
messages do have both date and time.

Thanks and pleasant Sunday to all!

For some reason, all of a sudden, there is only a time when JAWS reads the
header of a message in the list view of the in box. I need to reset the
date which is very important to me.

Where and how can I do this?

Thanks always for your great help and expertise.

Re: [JAWS-Users] table to text

2014-09-14 Thread Annette Carr
Place your cursor in the table.
Use your application key to select the entire table.
Use your application key a second time to select Convert.
If you still do not see convert in the application menu, open table on the
ribbon, and you should find it there.

HTH,
Annette

Hi Tom,
I did what you said, but no luck.
I couldn't find the word convert.
Anything else I can try?
Patti
Hi, use your application key when inside the table. In there you will find
all kinds of goodies one of them is to convert table to text.

Hey Gang,

I got a table I want to turn it into text, and I can't find out where it is,
can someone please give me the steps?

This is what I did, and it doesn't work, lol.

I'm running J15, windows7, and MS2010.

Thanks for any help.

Patti

Table to text

1, be inside the table

2, shortcut alt J L V

3, long way, alt

4, arrow left to layout

5, shift tab 8 times, to convert, enter

6, arrow down to choose what you want, tabs, commas, or dashes

7, tab to ok
