It seems to be easier to navigate using Firefox, but I have discovered that when placing an order, there are no longer any radio buttons on the page for selecting the desired shipping option,so there is now no apparent way to select free shipping, which is not the default (standard shipping is the default, even if your order qualifies for free shipping). So now when I place an order with Amazon using Firefox 29 with the accessible site, I call customer support as soon as I receive my email order confirmation to have them adjust my order to apply free shipping instead of the default standard shipping. This is a nuisance, but fortunately, Amazon customer support is very helpful, especially if you explain to the agent that you are a blind customer who is having trouble with their accessible site. So now when I place an order with Amazon using Firefox 29 with the accessible site, I call customer support as soon as I receive my email order confirmation to have them adjust my order to apply free shipping instead of the default standard shipping. Re: [JAWS-Users] version 16
I use the regular Amazon site all the time and with Firefox 35 it works normally as my last order had the free shipping. Around Christmas I had a great deal of trouble with the site as I could not change the number of items I wanted but now that works as well. They even have the beginning of the shopping cart finally marked with a heading so I can find it by navigating by heading since in the past it was confusing to find the actual items that were in the cart. I have my Firefox set to upgrade automatically since several of the last upgrades were for security reasons. You might want to update your Firefox as this version seems to work fine with Jaws 16. At least as well as IE in most cases. Now I only use IE if I have some difficulty with Firefox in checking something or other such thing... Just a suggestion. Sherrie Gosling -Original Message- From: Gerald Levy Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2015 9:38 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] version 16 I have given up trying to navigate the Amazon.com site using IE. Amazon is constantly tinkering with their site, much to the detriment of us blind customers. Re: [JAWS-Users] Skype hot key
hello; let's be clear about something, if you don't have a particular program scripts installed, then using the keystroke insert+q, is absolutely useless. the insert+q is a jaws keystroke, and tells you, or gives you information on the program scripts loaded, the alt+ 1 2 3 are not jaws keystrokes for skype. if you have jaws skype scripts installed, then the alt+ 1 2 3 will not work, because the jaws scripts remapped the alt+ commands to reflect the familiar behaviour -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Pinky Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2015 2:00 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Skype hot key I tried the insert + Q but that did not bring up any Skype hotkeys. Amazon is constantly tinkering with their site, much to the detriment of us blind customers.
