What exactly are you trying to do?

Are you trying to play a song from your library using the library pane of
Winamp?

If this is the case, then you should use the enter key, not the spacebar.

It's similar to iTunes.

You can arrow up and down the library, but until you press enter on the
selection, the track won't play, though when you press the spacebar,
it will

keep playing the previous track you had loaded in Winamp.

I'm also interested in why you are using the Winamp Library?

I find it very difficult to use, though I don't know if scripts have been
created for the Winamp Library feature. Having said that though, I
simply

use File Explorer to manage my audio tracks.

Since I have no sight, I don't bother with cover art, or anything like
that,

I simply manage the audio tracks as files.

Regardless, Winamp won't stop working, simply because it's not being
developed, there simply won't be any support or updates, so you'll
have to

get your support or help from online sources, or lists like these.

Perhaps you could explain in finer detail what it is you're trying to
accomplish, and how you're going about trying to achieve this.

Hi Sugar,
You might have a laptop whose WLAN adapter causes the Locking Code to change
when you enable or disable Wi-Fi. JAWS interprets that fact as a hardware
change, therefore it ask for activation again.
If this is your problem, see the following Freedom Scientific's technical
support bulletin:
http://www.freedomscientific.com/Support/TechnicalSupport/Bulletin/1322

If you have JAWS activated by using a dongle instead of the ILM, you may have
accidentally removed the Sentinel System Driver, either from Programs and
Features or the Device Manager. In this case, the easiest fix is running a JAWS
repair through the setup program, either with your installation DVD or the
latest build downloaded from the web.

Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS not copying text from a web-site.

2017-06-28 Thread Adrian Spratt
When this doesn't seem to work, I add a step. After pressing the control-c copy
command for the selected text on the webpage, I open Notepad and paste the
result there. Then I copy that Notepad document and paste it into a Word
document. I believe the difficulty on some webpages is that they're set up in
table format, which can be copied but not read by JAWS. Somehow, copying into
Notepad removes the table formatting while keeping the text pretty much intact.

My friend ultimately had to contact Verizon/AOL and got someone to fix all the

[JAWS-Users] Kindle Final Solution.

2017-06-28 Thread Judy Jones
Hello,

I have tried this program with several books, and have not gotten it working
yet. It does not recognize the folders in my Kindle library even though I
can navigate to them, and I have 140 books in my library. I have tried
converting either the ebok folder, or going into the folder itself and
importing the ASW file, but always get an error message that does not tell
me what the error is.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Winamp

2017-06-28 Thread Judy Jones
I'm not sure if this will solve the issue, if the issue is a play list, but I
have Winamp set to start up in the main window. I have my audio files
categorized in folders. If I want to listen to a playlist, say, Oldies, once I
open up the main window, press shift-L to see a list of folders, navigate to
the one you want and press enter. The S key will toggle shuffle on or off.
The R key will toggle repeat. It's a snap pulling up play lists this way
without really even having to create them.

If you are just wanting to play songs manually, simply navigate to the folder
where you have the audio files you want to play, and play them from there,
rather then trying to navigate the library. Another work-around is to make a
special folder for categories of audio files you want to mix. For instance, I
have a file called Work Music that has a few genres in it that I like to listen
to when working.

I'm getting confused...

What exactly are you trying to do?

Are you trying to play a song from your library using the library pane of
Winamp?

If this is the case, then you should use the enter key, not the spacebar.

It's similar to iTunes.

You can arrow up and down the library, but until you press enter on the
selection, the track won't play, though when you press the spacebar, it will
keep playing the previous track you had loaded in Winamp.

I'm also interested in why you are using the Winamp Library?

I find it very difficult to use, though I don't know if scripts have been
created for the Winamp Library feature. Having said that though, I simply use
File Explorer to manage my audio tracks.

Since I have no sight, I don't bother with cover art, or anything like that, I
simply manage the audio tracks as files.

Regardless, Winamp won't stop working, simply because it's not being developed,
there simply won't be any support or updates, so you'll have to get your
support or help from online sources, or lists like these.

Perhaps you could explain in finer detail what it is you're trying to
accomplish, and how you're going about trying to achieve this.

Winamp is still a disaster. Every time I press the spacebar the song I last
played starts playing. I would expect this behavior in the main Windows, but
not in the library window. Also, as I said in an earlier post, Alt 1 through
Alt 0 will read the column headers in Window-Eyes. I believe Alt+3 opens the
Data editor. I’ll be using Window-Eyes until it breaks or until you JAWS users

be broken soon, too.

I know nothing about Kindle for PC. Aren't your files accessible to you, the
owner of the computer?
Yes, in order for online-convert.com to be able to convert a file, you will
either need to select it by browsing to the file's location on your hard drive,
or you can insert the URL to the file if it is online and not behind a password

Re: [JAWS-Users] starting jaws 18 demo

2017-06-28 Thread Fernando Gregoire
As Adrian said, before opening JAWS 18 close JAWS 14; if you don't close
JAWS 14 first, the shortcut to JAWS 18 will only open the JAWS 14 context
menu.
Regarding management of the JAWS version which starts automatically in
Windows 7, the safest way to prevent version conflicts is using the Windows
Ease of Access Center, in which different JAWS versions are registered.

   1. Press WINDOWS+U to open the Ease of Access Center.
   2. Activate the Use the Computer without a Display link.
   3. Tab to the available check boxes and make sure to check JAWS 14 but
uncheck 18, and then press the OK button. This will let JAWS 14 to start
automatically instead of 18 after you log on into the current user account.
   4. To make JAWS 14 to start also in the Logon screen, activate the
Change Administrative Settings link and make the abobe mentioned change
there. For this last step to work, you'll need administrative privileges.

Hope it fixes your issue!
