why do you want to uninstall it.
many crashes may be eliminated if you erase the cookies ,history and cache.
if you just want to have a fresh installation you can press shift enter 
on the

firefox icon and run it in safe mode.
here you can run firefox without any add ons to see if this will fix some
problem you may be haveing.
then you can track down the add on that may be bad.
or you can set firefox back to the original state when it was first 
installed.

no bookmarks, no add ons, no custom color settings or stored passwords etc.
and yes you would have to reinstall your add ons if you can still get them.
what i do is download the actual files so i can re install them if i 
have to.

I do not believe the tablet can play bard books, therefore you got the 
error.  It only works with authorized players listed through NLS.  I 
don't believe the books can be played on computers and tablets. Just the 
bard app and the player, as well as some of the specialized players that 
some have used and I have not.

[JAWS-Users] question about office 2016 and demo mode

Hi all,

I have been out of commission for the past while and will catch up.  I 
got one answer to my questions about 2016 being accessible, and even 
looked through the archives for thunderbird help as it wasn't reading 
right, so nice job, guys.  I searched for thunderbird through google and 
got what I needed.


I assumed that I would get a free trial of office which came with this 
computer as it came with windows 10 and office 2016.  I can read and 
provide feedback by E-mail to someone however, I can't write or use the 
program at all.  A message I found with the mouse indicated that most 
features are locked until activated.  I thought I would be trying for 30 
days then it would lock.  I don't have office 365, I don't have anything 
but a new windows 10 PC.   So, how can I benefit from a trial if I'm 
granted one?  I'm inquiring as well on other things to get this 
purchased as a subscription for me so I can keep up on the changes. 
I've been a long time word 2000 user, and realize I need to learn the 
newer products to be competitive.  I found it easy to get the word count 
of an article i submitted, but I can't use it at all.  Thanks for any 
help.

7 zip will do exactly as described.  I have and deal with zips all the 
time.  I extract them right where they are, and the folders are within 
the zip.  Sorry Winrar didn't work for you, but i have 7zip now and it 
works as described.

You can also get to the context key with shift+f10 if you do not have a 
context key.

Hi Kate,

I'm still using Window-Eyes for the time being but I would think the steps
are the same.

First highlight the names that you want alphabetized.
Then use the context menu and arrow up to sort.  The first option is "sort A
to Z."  If that's what you want just press enter.

   4.. Press DOWN ARROW to move to Enable Speech History in the filtered

I'm happy to hear that they have a number of them.  People have 
recommended sophos, so if there are the same issues with them, even 
though I downloaded the home free version, wondering what else is out 
there we can use?  That was my initial reason for joining the list, as I 
said, MSE is accessible, but seems to lack, and I was looking to change. 
 Haven't yet since there are mixed views, and most isn't accessible, 
which is too bad.

Mike,

I took a look, and the thing about this method, at least as of late, 
text to email gateways only can receive so much, then it is cut off. 
Last time I got this to work, it was 10 pages according to the reader. 
Now a days, when I get them through my iphone, I don't get the entire 
one.  I think google voice would be better to use because you can send 
it to a phone and the whole message is received.

Google voice allows you to send and receive text messages similar to 
your cell phone.  He wanted something that could send text messages to a

Hi Judy,

I think you may have gotten an answer but I have been behind.  To get to 
the reading panel, it is in the tree view where you found accessibility 
settings.  Go back to that tree view and use your up and down arrow keys 
to find it.  Hoping this helps.

Once you install the kindle PC app, you'll need to get the accessible 
plug in.  I can get you a link as i have it.  After that, you can hit F1 
and get commands to read.  It doesn't read out of the box, at least it 
didn't with Window-Eyes.  Let me know how I can help.  You can also 
search amazon for the accessible kindle for PC and get it that way.

This server requires authentication must be checked in settings.  I'm 
not sure in outlook express it might be anymore, but I do have pages on

It makes sense, but when you think that the antivirus program should 
pick something up by scanning the zip and finding an executable that 
could be melicious and it says nothing is concerning to me.  Also, the 
eicar virus checker I originally posted which topped off my  question 
from that article, it should've picked it up on saving, and that tells 
you that the virus checker is working as designed.

I can assure you, you can find other anti-virus programs that will pick 
up lots of things -- the problem is, they pick up a lot of "false

I want to get away from MSE because it doesn't seem to pick up 
anything, even if I don't download anything.  Once it picked up a file 
as temp files and said it was something, but most of the time it says 
nothing. I'm on windows 7 64 bit, and was looking for something else.  
I've used Trend Micro's house call tool which does scanning and 
updating of its engine through the download, but it seems to be only 
doing one drive. MSE does my whole machine, but I was curious if there 
was something else out there besides MSE that would be more reliable.  
I haven't made any changes yet, someone said I aught to install it and 
see, but now i'm not sure.  Its sad that nobody is accessible anymore, 
I do practice good web habits, have read up and listen to security 
podcasts, and I am careful, but with the threats today, something is 
always needed and was looking for something that would be a bit better 
than my experience lately with MSE.  Thanks for your thoughts.

I'm running 53.x with no issues and have pretty much switched to jaws 
now full time.  I've personally not had any issues except for the 
weirdness of the RSS feed, but that was all.  Each milage will vary, and

I've not gotten to this list till now, sorry about that.  If you tell firefox 
to check for updates in the help menu, it'll go find out that there is an 
update.  How it stopped, I've got no idea, but I'm running 53.x with no issues. 
 Updates won't install unless the browser is closed and reopened, in case its 
been awhile.  Maybe others have answered your question, and if those solutions

Usually this happens with an extension or something with firefox itself. 
 I've been on youtube a little bit and no issues.  I would try a reboot 
to see if its a memory thing.   Are you running the latest firefox, and 
how many tabs are open?  Could be a memory issue if there are a lot of 
tabs open.

I am using vocalizer Tom and have set it both from the settings manager for
default and from using the insert _ 2 keys to cycle through the options.  In
doing some futher testing I find that if I set it to characters I get
nothing when I type, if I set it to characters and words I do not get
characters but do get words, and if I set it to words only I get the words
when I hit space.  It appears that only the character settings are not
working for some reason, sounds kind of strange.

You don't necessarily need to be in the middle of the word, just go past

If it doesn't, what will?  I have not made any changes yet, but MSE isn't
cutting it for my needs.  I get a lot of files and attachments and it does

for your review.  When i went to send the original message intending
to keep things in tact, the outbound picked it up as harmful which
means it worked, but MSE never picked it up nor what I've written
below.  A bit concerning.



I did this, and found that microsoft security essentials leaves it.

I got concerned when I knowingly saved a file as I wanted to see if it
would pick up the file.   I left it for awhile and saved it on one of my
drives.  I submitted it using I believe it was av test or a site
that I found that allowed me to see what antivirus picked this
particular file I had up.  MSE never picked it up.  Now that I'm a
Jaws user, what antivirus besides MSE would work with Jaws?

I've got Windows 7, 64 bit.  I don't think MSE is doing the trick
anymore if a file can go undetected for that long, and it never got
flagged for review.  It was a zip, with an executable in it, which i
knew was dangerous,

You do have a valid point today, but if it is something known, the 
antivirus should be able to pick it up.  The fact a file sat on my 
machine so I could see how MSE performed with it and  it never picked it 
up and I knew it was infected gave me the hint that it wasn't seemingly 
to work.  I'll give it a look.

I will add that there is absolutely no fail-proof antivirus. All it takes is

If it doesn't, what will?  I have not made any changes yet, but MSE 
isn't cutting it for my needs.  I get a lot of files and attachments and 
it does not pick it up, even when I examine the files to see what they 
are.  Some may be harmful, so need something that works.  I don't expect 
perfect, but Thomas recommended it, so would love to hear how it works 
before I comit to getting MSE off and  doing all of this work to get 
nowhere.

file I had up.  MSE never picked it up.  Now that I'm a Jaws user,
what antivirus besides MSE would work with Jaws?

I've got Windows 7, 64 bit.  I don't think MSE is doing the trick
anymore if a file can go undetected for that long, and it never got
flagged for review.  It was a zip, with an executable in it, which i
knew was dangerous, but I save them at times to see if the thing is
working and picks them up.

I'm wondering someone said OCR screen, ins+space, o, s helped with this, 
but I'm sure it can be a set it and forget it especially for scanning 
and updating which it should do automatically.  Is Panda any better 
then?  I set up an account and logged in to get my download of Sophos.

Andrew, thanks.  But My question is that is this a bug?  Window-Eyes 
never had the issue, I should be able to navigate the headings, find the 
podcast I want, find its mp3 and hit the context key and select save 
link as.  Always worked in Wineyes, why not Jaws.  Does it work differently?

When right clicking links, I always make sure that the Jaws cursor is pointing 
at the link, then I right click. Otherwise, I've found that on some web pages, 
the computer cursor isn't always following the Jaws PC cursor closely. so you 
right click, but the link that the computer cursor is pointing to isn't the 
link you want.

Yes, in firefox, the correct termonology is save link as, shortcut K. 
The page hasn't changed since I last used it, I just got the wrong name 
for it.  I have always hit shift+f10 and then select the save link as, 
or hit k, and it always worked in Window-Eyes.  Sadly, this keyboard 
doesn't allow me to turn off numlock, but the page always has the 
headings in the order of description of the show, then the first heading 
says the episode number under that, the show notes, then the file. 
Strange.

I have never had this problem with Window-Eyes, but I have this problem 
with Jaws, and it baffles me.  I'm running the latest Jaws, the latest

To not have firefox save passwords, go to tools, options,  privacy, and 
there's a box not to save log ins.

I only  got the scripts so I can be notified when recording, checking 
the time of the file, and other things like that.  Yes, they are not 
necessary, but a help.

is it a requirement to have help of some sort assigned so people can
find information on how the script works, its options, etc. like I see
in a demo script of one that I may have baught?  I'm pretty familiar
with Jaws, and only had a slight learning curve, so may not need a lot
of help.

this site by a search and downloaded the zip.  After putting the files 
in users username, freedom scientific, jaws version, enu, I was 
surprised that insert+f1 twice did not bring up any type of help on how 
the scripts worked.  I ended up opening keyboard manager and searching 
for commands that would make the scripts tell me when recordin was 
enabled, and so forth, as well as keyboard help.  I remember old time 
scripts were needed to be unzipped and copied in to this folder, and I 
don't have a problem with it.  My question as a returning user is this: 
is it a requirement to have help of some sort assigned so people can 
find information on how the script works, its options, etc. like I see 
in a demo script of one that I may have baught?  I'm pretty familiar 
with Jaws, and only had a slight learning curve, so may not need a lot 
of help.
