In a word no. I emailed them but I never heard back.

I contacted Bank of America and I told him under no circumstances would pay for
a subscription that I unsubscribed from. I guess I will just have to wait and
see what happens on August 1, 2018 when They try to renew my subscription with
a credit card that I have already canceled three months ago. But I appreciate
you asking thanks much. Every country has an identity, history, custom, and

I am using the latest Jaws 2018. I received an email from NFL game pass
regarding my subscription. To, opt out you can either go to your accout
or go to a ticket form link within the email. I have  tried numerous
times both ways with no success. I've tried with IE11, Chrome and
Firefox. Is there a support email address I can write to opt out or a
support phone number I can call to opt out. I do not want to be charged
the $199 by the end of this month. Any help regarding this issue will be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.

[JAWS-Users] focus 40 blue firmware update

I have an older Focus 40 blue display. It was not displaying cells

perfect it is very much more useable. in fact I'm typing this email
using it right now. I can not find my manual but I want to know the keys
to press to perform a test pattern for the cells? Also, it looks like
the firmware for the display is 4.44. How can I check to see if there is
a firmware update?

I suspect it’s a hardware problem also because You mentioned something
about static in your speakers. If you have an earlier version of jaws
see if you still get the static noise and if you have the same problem

talked about that you were getting in jaws v2018. Every country has an

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Serious Problem Since Doing Latest Jaws 2018 Update

Hello, everyone.

I have developed a serious problem since doing the latest 2018 Jaws update
on this Windows 7 laptop.

In fact, it actually is very difficult to type this e-mail.

Since the update, my computer has basically slowed down to a crawl.

It's hard to type anything, because there is a several-second delay between
hitting a key, and getting a response from Jaws.I also have a great deal of
Static in my computer speakers, which I never had before. Finally, I find
that I often have to restore focus with Jaws when doing a particular task.

I even went back to an earlier version of Jaws, and the problems persisted.

I called Freedom Scientific Tech support, and we re-installed the latest
Jaws update. The problem still persisted. I even did a Jaws repair with no
luck.

Needless to say, I'm not very happy!!

Has anyone had these problems with the latest update, and if so, what did
you do to address them?

This computer is a Dell business-grade computer, and I've never experienced
problems like this before from the many Jaws updates I have done over the
years.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to call Freedom Scientific again in the morning if I have no luck
between now and then.

all you're doing is talking back-and-forth couldn't you silence jaws

I am somewhat surprised you could actually type your password in notepad and
then copy and paste it into the password Field. I tried to do that along time

see actual characters and not just symbols.

Not sure what the status is nowadays, but there was someone who wrote
scripts for iTunes. However, as Apple probably keps changing it, the scripts
would become less and less useful unless they were consistently updated with
the programmes. Again, I personally feel that iTunes is not at all worth the
bother. It's just a big bloated mess, and invasive as well. I'll stick to my

Interested that a free program works better than one I spend money.

Of course you are correct, I'm glad you pointed that out. however, I
hardly ever use the cc field though because I think it's redundant. the

different issue wich you address perfectly. I also have a few groups and
sometimes I will email one group or sometimes I'll email them all
depending on the topic which again you can use the to field and return
method.

Webvisum hasn't done anything with their plug-in in at least three years.
That's ashame.

You need to pay for captcha solving via a couple other options.

Try CaptchaBeGone.com or Rumola.com. Rumola works with Firefox and
Google

Chrome.

As I mentioned on this topic several months ago, I thought this would
be a

great thing for Jaws to try to support, but Mr. Damry wasn't interested.

Fortunately, there are only a few websites that don't have accessible
captcha solution alternatives.

I'm using windows 7 and Jaws v18. My network conection to the internet

the problem in about two minutes by doing something on my laptop. I
asked him to please give me a brief rundown as to what he did so I could
fix the issue if it happens again. But, this guy reminded me of somebody
who thinks a blind person could notpossibly understand his instructions
because he all but ignored me. No big deal really. I thanked him and
they left in five minutes after arriving to my house. If somebody here
has an idea what he looked at to troubleshoot the network internet
connection I would appreciate a quick briefing so I could hopefully fix
the problem myself instead of waiting eight hours before a tech person
was able to come to my house. Thanks.

I was attempting to read an interview on the Rolling Stone web site,
but almost as soon as I open the site, some really loud and very
annoying vvideo starts playing and I can't figure out how to turn it
off. The problem is the video is so loud that I can't hear jaws to
explore the sctreen or to read the interview. I'm pasting a link to
the interview if you care to see what I'm talking about. Is there a
jaws command that will turn off this noise?

http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/news/stephen-king-on-trump-20160609

Thanks in advance for any help.

Kimber

[JAWS-Users] one drive update

2016-06-06 Thread leonard morris
I am trying to update one drive manually because I keep getting a
message that one drive can not download automatically after several
tries. However, I've reviewed the Microsoft One Drive page several
times but can not locate the download button for Windows seven. If
someone has a direct link to download one drive can you send it to the
list. If not can someone tell me where to look to download one drive?
Thanks.

reading using say all command in IE11 or Thunderbird Jaws will stop

Hi Holger,
If you already have a PC, MS will extend the free offer for win10 until it
becomes more accessible which will be after the end of July for screen
reader users. If you buy a new PC, win10 will already be on it. You just pay
for the PC. Take care.

I changed my output destination folder for easier access in options to
Jaws\audio. (smile) You also can create a hotkey shortcut topause
and/and resume the recording in global recording option settings. For
example, I have my Pause set to alt P and my resume to alt r.

with the same recording. When you press stop, it is automatically save
in the virtual Recorder. folder. Other than that, you can't get
anything more simple to use.

The correct file extension is, "ISO".
I wouldn't have mentioned it, but it could lead to some confusion
since IOS ,refers to the Apple operating system, and .iso is a file

Subject: [JAWS-Users] UPGRADING TO WINDOWS 10

I got the Windows.ios file from the Microsoft website and placed it on my
desktop.

1. Am I correct that I need to completely DELETE Jaws v17 and all its
shared components first
Your best course of action might be to go onto the Freedom Scientific web
site and download the instructions along with a special file which will
assist you in making the transition.?

2. If I start narrator in Windows seven will Narrator talk me through

the installation process?
Yes, at least for the most part. Narrator in later versions after Windows
8.1, is an excellent voice over tool. However, initial stages of the
conversion to Windows 10 will not talk. It might be advisable to request
direct assistance from the Microsoft Disability Support Desk.

800-936-5900

3. When my sighted friend was showing me his windows 10 computer when

narrator started running I heard something about screen reader users

might want to switch to Internet Explorer instead of using Edge I think

it is called. Is this still true?

Yes. As of this time, Microsoft Edge does not talk using Jaws. That is an
ongoing issue which is being worked on by both Freedom and Microsoft. I
believe that a solution will be found shortly. In the meantime, switching
to Microsoft Internet explorer is the correct alternative.

4. Is there anything else I should consider when upgrading that I have

not mentioned?

I recommend that you join the Windows 10 and Jaws e-mail list, at least
temporarily. Jim has quite a few instructional files which you will find
most useful. He stores them on One Drive and will provide direct access on
request. You will find the direct submission link in another message on
this list.

Good luck, Sir. I believe that you will find Windows 10 an excellent
choice.

Hello, everyone.

I have a question that I hope will not be considered off topic for this
list.

I would like to purchase some sort of a Windows tablet to use when
traveling, and for when I don't want to drag my laptop computer around.

I am currently using Jaws 16, but plan to upgrade to Jaws 17 at some

point,

probably in the next few months.

I assume that any windows-based tablet that I might get now will
automatically come with Windows 10 installed, which I'm ok with, since

I'll

eventually need to upgrade my other computers to that operating system at
some point.

Can anyone give me recommendations and approximate costs of windows

tablets

that would have sufficient resources to accommodate Jaws, and basic
Microsoft software such as Microsoft Office, Outlook e-mail, etc.?

At one point, I had considered moving to an IPad, but I am quite

comfortable

with the Jaws to windows interface, so would prefer to stick with a

Windows

tablet if at all possible.

Thank you!

The following is a list of improvements made between the initial JAWS 17

line (INSERT+PAGE UP) not working in a table cell when using Smart

to point to C:\ProgramData\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\17.0\Scripts.
• This update contains new drivers from HumanWare for the Brailiant BI

spirit, many, world, etc., were not appearing correctly in documents. The
dots
4-5-6 portion of the word was being dropped when the word was
back-translated.
• When verbosity for Braille Flash messages is set to Advanced, resolved
customer reported issues where "sts" messages were being shown on the
braille
display even when the option to display status information was turned off.
In addition, the flash messages for the INSERT+T and INSERT+Q commands now
display
the short message as expected instead of the long message.
• If the JAWS cursor is configured to follow the PC Cursor using the
CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD Minus command, an issue was resolved where JAWS was not
reading
as expected when moving between applications with ALT+TAB.
• Addressed an issue with JAWS not correctly identifying the factorial
symbol in MathML content.
• If you perform a two-finger double tap to open a context menu while text
selection is active, the flick gestures will now work as expected to

I have it already from the first email you shared, and thank you for
doing that tutorial and sharing it with the list.

  Hi all,
I forgot to mention that you do not even need to have dropbox to
download
the tutorial from the link I gave you. You don't have to know how to
use it
or anything like that. All you guys need to do is enter on the link
in the
email, and a page will come up. Go to almost to the bottom of the
page and
there will be a download link, and press enter on that. Now, you can
save it
where you want on your computer. That is it. If you guys want to
learn how
to use Drop Box, I could teach you that in my next tutorial. Take
care, and
I hope you can download it and all will learn a lot about Chrome. I
am now
using it as my default browser. It is an hour audio tutorial and I go
over
all the basics of Chrome from browsing, to saving and getting to book
marks,
saving pages in different formats, downloading and saving files, and
much
more. Let me know how it goes downloading it.

  Hi all,
Yesterday, I sent all of you a Drop Box link to a tutorial that I did on
Google Chrome. I am not sure it got through, because I just read that
the
list was shut down. This is an hour tutorial that goes over all the
basics
of Chrome like browsing, downloading and saving files, saving pages in
different formats, and I take you through all of the options in the
Chrome
menu. I hope you learn and try Chrome, because it is very fast, great
when
streaming, and it is more accessible than it has ever been. Here is the
link. Just enter on the link, and a page will come up. Arrow down to
almost
the bottom of the page, and enter on the download link and you can
save it
to your computer. Here is the link.
