I would go back to the email that talked about cleaning it out with a can

There are a lot of very small moving parts that would not take much to
disrupt with dust and so on. There is a moter that spins the disk and there
is also a moter that moves the reading head back and forth over the disk
and it moves along a rail that has a very small gear that rolls along a

Hi trish,

Have you tried updating the driver for the drive? focus on the drive in
computer, open the context menu and open properties, control over to the
driver tab, and press enter on update driver. Now press enter on search
automatically for the driver for this device. if this does not work, go to
device manager, and find the CD drive to see the make and model of it, then
browse to the manufacturer's web site to find the latest driver, download
and install it. Ottherwise, it could be a bad connection, or the drive may
need to be replaced.

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws 16 not reading number of unread messages

2015-02-26 Thread Robert Moore
Phil.
I have the same set up.
Try turning on the jaws cursor then hold down the control key and hit
the end button. You might have to hit control home and then hit the control
end.
It will give you the total number in the folder and then tell you the
number of unread.
You have to listen carefully because it will give you the total number and
then say unread immediately which makes it sound kind of like 54unread 5

Instead of saying 55 5 unread
 Hope that makes sence
You can also use these key strokes while it is loading new messages. It
will give you the progress

Hi.

On my system running windows 7 64-bit, and office 2010, Jaws 16 will not
indicate the number of unread messages in outlook 2010 when moving down the
list of folders in the favorites view.

It does work if I use the go to folder keystroke (ctrl+y).

Jaws 15 does not have this problem, it does indicate the number of unread
messages in favorites view.

Is this a known bug in Jaws 16?

Thanks

Let me add a couple things and ask another question
First control shift f will fast forward rapidly. Control shift G goes
about half as fast giving you more control if you are looking for a
particular place in the audio file. Also to slow it down is control shift S.

My question is why control shift B does not rewind it on my machine. I also
tried control shift R If it makes a difference I will goe back and chec
my WMP version. But I am running windows 7 and Jaws 16 so I would think
that it should work.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Exiting an email in outlook 2010

2015-01-22 Thread Robert Moore
I need to find the setting for the preview pain and it seems like outlook
will open an email without my prompting it.I do not know if that is the case
but that is what it seems like to me.

Hi I am using outlook 2010 for my email.

Most times when I am reading an email and I want to close the email I am
reading to go to another email it will close just fine by hitting escape .
However some times for no apparent reason I can not close an email. I try
escape severl times and alt left arrow but to no avail. The only way I have
found to close the currently open email when this happens is to simpley
hit Alt F4 which closes outlook all together and I have to re open it.

Not a majour problem but does not seem like that should happen.

Any ideas?

 Thanks

Robert

Re: [JAWS-Users] Character by character reading?

2015-01-22 Thread Robert Moore
I don't know if any one had mentioned this but if you use the jaws key
plus the number 8 twice quickly on the num pad it will read any line that
you are on, caricter by caricter.
You can not read them at your own pace with the right arrow, it just reads
them as a string forexample

Instead of saying
My name is Robert
It will read
M y n a m e I s R o b e r t

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Character by character reading?

Hi List, I am using Windows Live Mail on a Windows 7 computer with Jaws 14.

When I bring up my list of email addresses, I can hear them fine enough to
pick out the one which I want to use, but in a forwarding situation, I have
to be on the message list at the message to be forwarded, so I cannot read
the address again. Not only that, I would like to be able to make Jaws read
each character as I arrow across them. It would really be awesome, if I
could copy it and just paste it in to the address field of the forwarded
message!

Can anyone help?

Thank you very much! Vicky

Re: [JAWS-Users] ixquick

2015-01-22 Thread Robert Moore

 It is spelled
Ixquik
www.ixquik.com
 you can also try
www.startpage.com
the two are some how related. And both claim to be more private.
I use Startpage myself and am very happy with it.

Am I misspelling the name of this search engine? I just tried going there
and was informed that my ISP couldn't find the address. I used www.
Ixquick.com

I have the preview pane turned off but from time to time Outlook will open a
message in that view.
It seems to happen mostly as when I am arrowing down through my list of
messages and a new message comes in then the message I am on will for
whatever reason open in the preview pane.
I don't know if this is an Outlook or a Jaws issue.

I am running JAWS professional 16 and windows 7.
