Yes on both accounts, sir.

I resolved my issues after making some changes in options.
So far so good.

The first question I would ask is has the scanner been cleaned? Dirty
scanner means you won't get a clear picture which will make it harder for
the OCR to do its job. The other thing I'd consider is are your drivers for
the scanner up to date? Hope this helps some.

I've put the paper in the scanner, clicked scan to word, selected plain
text, I think it's called dtI? I chose 300, scanned it and I just get
jibrish. I mean, it'll read text here and there but I find myself needing to
decipher what has been scanned.

How can I get a crisp and clear document to read?

Thanks.

Hi,

I'm using latest jaws 17 on a windows 10 pro and abby fine reader version
12.

I've never been able to scan and read documents. I need help.

Thanks.

I'be been dealing wigth Abbyy on and off for a while and find it very
usable, even though it might not be as 'clever' and Omnipage.
As for the dirty download (what ever that means), can't say that has

It means he put it through the washer then hung it out to dry. Hence his
handle, the HangMan.

For the record, Kimsan, have you worked with FS's Convenient OCR? I'm surprised
how effective and fast it is. My backup is OmniPage, though it will cost you
something like $90, depending on whether there's a sale, etc. Actually,
OmniPage is what Convenient OCR is based on. I've had OmniPage a lot longer
than Convenient OCR has been around, and I still sometimes find it useful to
use it independently.

I've been poking around on the options page and can't seem to find anything
you might be able to change to make it work better. You might try their
technical support. I've had very good luck with them. If you decide to use
their tech support, you'll need to tell them that because of your screen
reader you need to use team viewer instead of the first remoting option they
offer you.
