Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws question with Firefox

2017-12-11 Thread JM Casey
I have no idea. This might sound hilarious but I am actually getting
precisely the opposite result. I hit "h" four times in iE and get the story;
only hit it once in Firefox. Interesting, but not altogether unexpected I
guess; not all browsers are the same and they display content differently.
Plus if you have JAWS set to non-screen web layout it reorganises the data
as well.

JAWS also reads headings character by character. Do you have this problem on

I have to bring up a topic about jaws and small business use I have major
concerns about your programs listed here that are and are not accessible
with jaws because users are using them first of all why don't you post all
your programs on your website based on the fact that you have had
 experience
with these programs that are accessible and not accessible with Jaws also
does the department of rehabilitation services approve of using these
programs or not because I would never do anything to make my computer

Then take the list of programs that you're interested in to your department
of rehab daddy and ask them. Unless you're leasing the system from rehab or
something along those lines, then it doesn't matter. Besides, noone's
obligating you to install or try out anything.

If you are talking about MS Word, then the key stroke JawsKey+del on

Hi Kathy,

If you are using Microsoft Word then you can use the insert key with the delete
key on the number pad when number lock is off. On a laptop you can use the
caps lock key with the delete key. This command is for Microsoft Word and only
works in print layout, outline or draft views and not in the web view. The
command gives line and column position of the cursor. Alt+delete can be used
in print layout to find out how many inches the cursor is from the left and top
of the page.

Take care.

 Hi,

I believe there's something in advanced settings that will update
automatically every so often. To access this, go to the AVG user interface
from the context menu you went to before, then press alt t for tools and
 up
arrow and enter for advanced settings. You're now in some weird treeview
thing. Go down or press s until you here schedules and press right arrow
to expand it. Now select the schedule you want to edit, then tab and edit
the schedule. When done, click apply to save your settings and edit
 another
 schedule if you want.

I have a question and I'm not sure if anyone would have any ideas as to
how
I can resolve an issue I'm having.

At work, we use Lotus notes to send/receive emails. There is a
 webmail
version, which seems to also use lotus notes as well, by accessing the
mail servers, and the way you send mail is there's a toolbar at the
 top
 of
the page, that you have to use the Jaws cursor to find, and there you
 have
the reply, forward, New Memo etc., buttons.

The thing is, I can see the toolbar on my desktop computer at work,
 but
 I
can't see it on my laptop at home. Supposedly, the toolbar is there,
according to the IT guy who looked at my laptop.

Could someone tell me why it would display on my work computer and not
 the
one given to me to telecommute?

I'm using IE 6.0 on both machines, we are running the latest version
 of
jaws, so I'm not sure what's the issue.

 Does anyone have any ideas?

 Ginny

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws Question.

2008-08-01 Thread Auntie kk
Well I'm not sure really, because she didn't tell me, but not only that, but
jaws wouldn't talk much to me at all, and yet she managed to get it talking
right through whatever she did. I think when I went on to interface, there
it finished talking to me. So anyway, thanks to you, I got her installed ok,
but I couldn't get her to scan automatically, and also to automatically
update, which she managed to do. kk.

I have a question and I'm not sure if anyone would have any ideas
as
to
how
I can resolve an issue I'm having.

At work, we use Lotus notes to send/receive emails. There is a
 webmail
version, which seems to also use lotus notes as well, by accessing
 the

 the

the page, that you have to use the Jaws cursor to find, and there
 you
 have
the reply, forward, New Memo etc., buttons.

The thing is, I can see the toolbar on my desktop computer at
 work,
 but
 I
can't see it on my laptop at home. Supposedly, the toolbar is
 there,
according to the IT guy who looked at my laptop.

Could someone tell me why it would display on my work computer and
 not
 the
one given to me to telecommute?

I'm using IE 6.0 on both machines, we are running the latest
 version
 of
jaws, so I'm not sure what's the issue.

 Does anyone have any ideas?

Yes. This bug has been fixed with JAWS 9.0.2169. For now though, unload
JAWS, start AVG, then reload. Alternatively, give Avast a try. Hope this
helps.

Hi,

I believe there's something in advanced settings that will update
automatically every so often. To access this, go to the AVG user interface
from the context menu you went to before, then press alt t for tools and up
arrow and enter for advanced settings. You're now in some weird treeview
thing. Go down or press s until you here schedules and press right arrow
to expand it. Now select the schedule you want to edit, then tab and edit
the schedule. When done, click apply to save your settings and edit another
schedule if you want.

Hi,

Make sure you have the latest jaws update. To do this, go to your jaws
window or context menu and select help, check for updates.

I too get this message after doing a restart. And when I try to open the
AVG interface, I get 2
choices of send, or, don't send, error report. I've tried re installing,
 but it's still the same.

how
I can resolve an issue I'm having.

At work, we use Lotus notes to send/receive emails. There is a webmail

The thing is, I can see the toolbar on my desktop computer at work, but
 I
can't see it on my laptop at home. Supposedly, the toolbar is there,
according to the IT guy who looked at my laptop.

Could someone tell me why it would display on my work computer and not
 the
one given to me to telecommute?

I'm using IE 6.0 on both machines, we are running the latest version of
jaws, so I'm not sure what's the issue.

 Does anyone have any ideas?

I have a question and I'm not sure if anyone would have any ideas as to
how
I can resolve an issue I'm having.

At work, we use Lotus notes to send/receive emails. There is a webmail
version, which seems to also use lotus notes as well, by accessing the
mail servers, and the way you send mail is there's a toolbar at the top
 of
the page, that you have to use the Jaws cursor to find, and there you
 have
the reply, forward, New Memo etc., buttons.

2008-07-24 Thread Derek Roberts
Hi,

If it's the internet security version, maybe the firewall is blocking it?
Grab a sighted friend and see if you have a firewall dialog.

HTH. I used to have the trial of internet security 8 on my old desktop.

 Hi all.
When I installed AVG 8, jaws now does not run at start up even though it
 is checked to run..
Is anyone else having this problem?
And is there a way to fix it/
 Christy
