Hi Norman,

My XP computer is up to date and always has been. I still get the
message trying to install the free burning software to install imapi
first. So, I am giving up and I think that I will let sleeping dogs
lie and go to something else. Thanks for trying to help. I don't use
Skype anyway.

Take care.

Hi Normam,

Thanks for your reply. I have burned Cds with other software on my
computer that were successfully installed without any reference to
having to install the hotfix with imapi. I was looking for another
burning software that I can use without using the Jaws cursor a lot.
From what I gathered from the list, the free burning cd software is a
lot easier to use? Am I wrong about this?

I do back up my computer with windows system backup twice a month and I
use Karen's Replicator quite often for my data files. So, that is not a
problem.
The problem is that I don't normally run into a difficulty in

So I am hesitant to do so until I feel confident that all will be okay

I do back up my computer with windows system backup twice a month and
I use Karen's Replicator quite often for my data files. So, that is
 not a problem.
The problem is that I don't normally run into a difficulty in
installing a software like I have with free CD burner from free
studio. So I am hesitant to do so until I feel confident that all will
be okay when I do the installation?

 Thanks. Take care.

As for the hotfix it almost sounds like a windows update.
The reason for the message about closing all applications before
proceeding means that you will probably need to reboot the computer
after you've finished installing.
As for a backup you should always have that.

Hi,

I downloaded the free CD burner from free studio and I went to install
it. I got the following message:

Setup
This setup requires Image Mastering API (IMAPI). Please download and
install it, then run the setup again. Do you want to download IMAPI now?
Yes No

I downloaded the above software and when I went to install it to
complete the installation, I got the message as shown below:

ASoftware Update Installation Wizard
Use this wizard to install the following software update:
Hotfix for Windows XP

Before you install this update, we recommend that you:
- Back up your system
- Close all open programs
You might need to restart your computer after you complete this update.
To continue, click Next.

I am really confused! First of all, what isImage Mastering API (IMAPI)?
Also does anyone know what is the Hotfix and why is it necessary to
backup the system? Did anyone run into this when trying to install the
free CD burner from free studio ?

I need some advice what to do with this. I would like to use the free

appreciated. I am holding off until I am satisfied with good explanation.

Thanks and take care. Happy Fourth!

This program is free and open source. It handles all kinds of cd and dvd

I do not know the homepage for Infrarecorder at the moment but it is

Yes No

I downloaded the above software and when I went to install it to complete
the installation, I got the message as shown below:

(from WindowsXP-KB932716-v2-x86-ENU.exe)
ASoftware Update Installation Wizard
Use this wizard to install the following software update:
Hotfix for Windows XP
(KB932716-v2)
Before you install this update, we recommend that you:
- Back up your system
- Close all open programs
You might need to restart your computer after you complete this update. To
continue, click Next.
 Back Next Cancel

I am really confused! First of all, what isImage Mastering API (IMAPI)?
Also does anyone know what is the Hotfix and why is it necessary to backup
the system? Did anyone run into this when trying to install the free CD
burner from free studio ?

I need some advice what to do with this. I would like to use the free CD
burner. Any suggestion and enlightenment will greatly be appreciated. I am
holding off until I am satisfied with good explanation.

Thanks and take care. Happy Fourth!

Hi.
One thing you could try is run windows update and check for updates
manually.
Make sure your computer is completely up to date and try installing again.
You can also send me the link for where you got the software and I can do
some research.

Hi Normam,

Thanks for your reply. I have burned Cds with other software on my computer
that were successfully installed without any reference to having to install
the hotfix with imapi. I was looking for another burning software that I can
use without using the Jaws cursor a lot.
From what I gathered from the list, the free burning cd software is a lot
easier to use? Am I wrong about this?

I do back up my computer with windows system backup twice a month and I use
Karen's Replicator quite often for my data files. So, that is not a problem.
The problem is that I don't normally run into a difficulty in installing a
software like I have with free CD burner from free studio. So I am hesitant
to do so until I feel confident that all will be okay when I do the
installation?

Thanks. Take care.

As for the hotfix it almost sounds like a windows update.
The reason for the message about closing all applications before
proceeding means that you will probably need to reboot the computer
after you've finished installing.
As for a backup you should always have that.

2012-07-03 Thread shyam sharma
Yes of course. I am running windows 7 and JAWS12.
the nero is Nero-7.8.5.0_eng.exe
the Icon name which has appeared on desktop is named as nero start smart.
after opening it, when I check the version with the command JAWS
key+CTRL+V then it says nero smart version 3831.
one more thing I want to discuss about this program and its
accessibility. when I run nero and press tab several times then it
says help. But before the help option comes, there is one more tab
which is not announced by JAWS.
I don't know why does it happen. by the way, when I tried to enquire
about this tab from one of my sighted friends then he said that this
is the option where you have to select one of the given 3
options.--CD, DVD and CD/DVD.
But JAWS doesn't guide on this tab.

with thanks.

You can burn a CD with windows media player in windows 7. It took me a while
