I notice that John's name doesn't appear to be mentioned anywhere. Also, the
link Mike last sent is to a n item dated 2014, which makes me wonder if the
scripts have kept up with changes in Spotify. I'm going to forward a message
that Chris H posted on a related list in 2014.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Spotify and Jaws

2017-02-28 Thread Adrian Spratt
Understood about the level of accessibility. But with Pandora, when it's
accessible, you can indicate which songs you like or dislike, thus narrowing
the music that is presented to you. That's just one feature. I haven't tried
Pandora in a while and I've never tried Spotify, but I'd find limited
accessibility frustrating.

As for Big Brother, isn't it reassuring to know he can be mistaken? Due to a
mistake and subsequent laziness, I have my PC Audio and iDevices messages
channeled to the same folder. So, unless you really have a double, Big Brother
has sussed you out. He's just confused. In light of recent events, let's hope
he stays that way.

Thanks Adrian,

But I haven't joined PC Audio list. Gee, do I have a double out there? It's not

I wouldn't say the Spotify app is inaccesible. I don't know what functionality
sighted people would have over what I can figure out. It is a bit confusing,
though, and there are some unlabelled buttons. It does work, though. At least I
can search for artists and play music. I don't know about managing playlists or
saving music, etc.

I do have an iPhone, or at least I will when my new one arrives later this
week. My old 5 had a rather distasteful melt down, so I'm temporarily phoneless.

Just hoping to use both platforms.

Spotify is a formerly exclusively European music cloud service. You can use
a free ad-based service, or subscribe for a monthly fee of $4.95 or $9.95,
depending I think on whether you want to play it on your Pc, or your Pc plus
a smartphone.

It has about 15 million songs. It doesn't have any Led Zepellin or Beattles
material yet. You can't specify anything by genre yet, at least in the beta
version.

It plays your selected music, and songs it thinks you'll like. It has the
ability to share songs with your friends either through an IM client or
Facebook. A good review is at

can't get the free version unless you have an invitation. For what I do,
it's not worth what they want since there are other services which are
easier to use.

Spotify is a formerly exclusively European music cloud service. You can
use a free ad-based service, or subscribe for a monthly fee of $4.95 or
$9.95, depending I think on whether you want to play it on your Pc, or
your Pc plus a smartphone.

It has about 15 million songs. It doesn't have any Led Zepellin or
Beattles material yet. You can't specify anything by genre yet, at
least in the beta version.

It plays your selected music, and songs it thinks you'll like. It has
the ability to share songs with your friends either through an IM client
or Facebook. A good review is at

[JAWS-Users] Spotify?

2011-07-21 Thread Sarah Anson
Hi all,
Just wondering, has anyone in the United States, tried the new music service
that recently just launched called spotify?
I am finding the desktop client is not the most accessible but it works if you
are into mouse clicking and routing cursors. I have to use it with JFW because
I don't know how to mouseclick on NVDA, but I am finding I can use the whole
program with the clicking and routing. I just wish I didn't have to do all
that. Not sure if there are easier solutions, and just looking for people's
thoughts if they have tried it. The service seems to have a lot of music on it
and seems worth it. Right now I am just using the free version and trying to
get used to the desktop client and how to click where i need to.
Thanks,
Sarah A.

Hi all

Anyone using Spotify?

Spotify looks very interesting for a music lover like me.

Is it accessible with JAWS (speech and braille)?
