Go to the Help Menu, then to Update Authorization, then press Enter on Start
Authorization Button, Online authorization is preselected, go to next and there
you will see a field for the 20-digit code.

There is no field for the authorization code. There are 2 fields: locking
code which is filled in and serial number, they are both "read only". Tom

Hi David,

I can use the dongle, if I had an available USB port on the back of the

I'll need them. Thanks much for your input.

This system has never had an ILM key on it at all. It has always been used
with a dongle. In short you do not need an ILM key if you have a dongle
hooked up.

My guess is it will need to be authorized as it might very well detect the
change in hardware. So far as a dongle goes, so long as it is in your system
is authorized. Pull it out and it might take a couple of minutes before it
reverts to demo mode.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Authorizing Jaws

Hi All,

I'm going to clone my current Windows 7 operating system from a mechanical
drive to a solid state drive, so in doing this will Jaws notice the hardware
change, & require reauthorization of all versions of Jaws installed to this
operating system? I know the question sounds like a no brainer, but not having
ever done this I want to make sure, so I have authorization keys available when
necessary. Also, is it possible to reauthorize Jaws using a dongle? If so how
is reauthorizing Jaws with a dongle done? All help will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks much.
Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

2017-07-12 Thread Mike B.
Hi Glen,

I've never tried doing it that way, but in cloning the drive, I don't know
how I can step into the middle of a copying process, per say, & remove the
authorization. I understand how it could be done if someone was installing
RAM / Memory sticks, or a soundcard, but not copying / transferring a
complete operating system from 1 drive to another. Thanks much for your
input.

Hello Mike.
Good question. Personally, when I have to do such things, I always
remove the authorisation before I start, and re authorise when I'm done.
Maybe not necessary, but as they say: 'Measure twice, cut once'

2015-02-26 Thread Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)
Happened to me last week, and I haven't fixed it yet. If I wind up getting rid
of AVG (and it's looking that way), I'm hoping a restore will do it. If all
else fails, I can uninstall 6, repair 15, and put 16 in again fresh, saving a
handful of crucial files first.

That has happened to me a few times for no apparent reason either.
Unloading Jaws using Jaws key+F4 and restarting it has fixed it when it happens.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Authorizing JAWS

For some reason, my JAWS 16 has reverted back to a 40-minute version. I did
nothing to cause this.

I am trying to authorize it manually, not over the Internet.

I typed in the authorization code perfectly. Should I be using the letters as
upper or lower case? I tried it both ways, but not a Go.

I typed in the 5-digit license number that I have always used in the license
code field. It said to be sure to use the last part or something and I don't
know what this means, since I only have 5 digits and nothing more.

I wrote down the locking code, but it didn't ask for that yet. When I entered
on next, JAWS stated that it could not be completed or whatever it says.

What am I doing wrongly because this 40-minute mode is killing me. Thanks very
much for your help, as always.

hi liuda, the authorization number is 20 characters, and begins with a

I think that happens when something goes wrong when Jaws starts and it
cannot verify its license through internet. It could be your internet
connection or their website at the moment of starting Jaws.

You can go to the Jaws windows, Help nenu and Update Authorization, no need
to close and reopen Jaws. Authorize online, it is normally swift.
