Hi.
Have you tried deleting or rolling back the wireless drivers? It is possible
it won't be able to find the WiFi at all then, at which point you'd have to
manually download a WiFi driver, copy it onto the computer with a flash
drive and install it, unless it has an ethernet jack and there is such a
plug available for connecting to the internet nearby.

Hi Jorge,
In your instructions below you say to " Press the tab key 3 times to double
left click, press spacebar."
Maybe I am reading this wrong but you are saying press the tab key three
times to do a double left click. Can you really hit the tab key three times
to do a double left click? I tried this on another page and that did not
work. I have never heard of this Jaws command. Just wondering if that was a
typo or a mistake on your part.

Press the tab key 3 times to double left click, press spacebar.
Enter on network setting link.
Now tab through the menu, check wireless is turned on.

Tab and hopefully will see all networks,
Locate yours and enter, then have the password ready in your mind and type
it out.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Turning on wireless

2016-03-30 Thread Jonathan Cohn
One of the HP laptops I use has a touch panel above the numbers that has mute
and airplane mode. If that is enabled then you can't reenable it in software

2016-03-30 Thread Dave Carlson
It may be a switch on the side, or a combination of the Fn key and one of
your f1 - f12 keys.

I have two HP laptops here using Windows7 and JAWS 16 which I can't get
wireless to turn on. I've tried everything I know so I'm wondering if
anyone has any suggestions. If airplane mode is on, is there a keystroke to
turn it off?

I've run my fingers along at the top of the laptop. I've tried the function
keys with and without the FN key. I've looked for a slide switch or button
on the laptop. I've tried Windows Mobility Center. No go! Please help,
if you can.

Try Device manager.
Under Network adaptors.
Highlight the wireless adaptor.
Press the applications key and make sure it is enabled.

Re: [JAWS-Users] turning off wireless

2013-12-15 Thread David Ferrin
The only method I am aware of is to go in to your routers' wireless settings
and disable it.

Then reverse the procedure to turn it back on. This is my experience with
Linksys routers. Unless yours has a physical switch on it.
