Re: [JOYnet] My Christmas !!!!!!

2002-12-30 Thread nelson abel
   Hello friends,
Hope all of you celebrated Christmas well. I will share
about my Christmas celebrations.
Sorry, first I will introduce myself. I am Nelson, a mechanical engineer
working in turaif, Saudi Arabia.
This Christmas was very special to me in many ways. First of all,
Mini, my wife is expecting.
It is her 8th month. She is presently in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I am in
turaif since 2001 Jan. To tell
About the city, it is small and near to the Jordan border. The other
specialties are it is too cold over here as well as we have got only less
malayalee population.
Initially I was the only Jesus youth in this place. But in last
October I found another Jesus youth, Santhosh from kottayam. Then we started
a small prayer on every Fridays. We also joined the prayer for terrorists on
December 20th. Both of us observed the day with prayer and fasting, and we
joined the global prayer at 3.30 pm of Saudi time.
As you know in Saudi Arabia, there is very little access for
spiritual activities. I prepared a Christmas tree and a star in my room. I
am the project manager of this site and I am the only Christian among the 45
manpower. Many of my staff came to my room and helped to decorate the tree.
It gives the spirit of Christmas. 24th midnight, santhosh and 4 other
Christian friends came to my room. At 11.30 we started carol singing
followed by a beautiful praise and worship session. After the dinner all of
them left at 3 am.
Christmas morning, I distributed cake in my office; there I got warm
greetings from my Saudi colleagues. For lunch, I invited all my labour boys
for the dinner. All 14 persons came and had dinner with me. In the evening I
attended holy mass through the catholic television network- EWTN.
Really I enjoyed this Christmas very much. Thanks to my lord.

[JOYnet] Here i am

2002-06-07 Thread nelson abel

Throughout scripture we find individuals saying to god, “here I
am.”When god calls to Moses
From the burning bush, Moses answers, “Here I am.”(Ex 3:4) When God
summons Samuel in
The middle of the night, Samuel responds with “Here I am.”(1 Samuel 3:4).
And when God
Asks the prophet Isaiah, “ Whom shall I send,” Isaiah replies, “ Here am
I; send me!” (Is 6:8)
Those three little words make a beautiful prayer. Here I
am. Not there. Not where I
Used to be or where I will be someday or where I wish I were. But here.
In this place. Amid
These specific circumstances. Here I am. Not as I was yesterday or as I
will be tomorrow or
As I wish I were. But as I am. In this condition, this shape. With these
particular thoughts and
   Feelings
Perhaps all prayer should begin with a simple, “Here I am, god.” It
should begin with the humble
Acknowledgement and acceptance of where we find ourselves and who we are
on this particular
Day. Only then can we hope to begin to move forward and beyond – with
God’s grace, of course.
Here I am, God. With your grace, help me to begin to move beyond
where and who I am today.

Re: [JOYnet] prayer help from saudi

2002-06-03 Thread nelson abel

Dear joynetters,
This is nelson, from Saudi Arabia. Hope all of you keeping fine
by the grace of god.
About two weeks before, I posted a prayer request for one of our friend,
layamol.
Many of you have taken pain to send me personnel mails by promising prayer
support. Sorry, I was busy these days. My wife mini is also working in
Saudi, as a staff nurse in a place, about 90 km
From Riyadh. My place (turaif) is about 1500km from Riyadh. Last week I
was with my wife. One week we spend together. There I got a chance to attend
a prayer group also. Every Friday they used to gather
In a house and doing the worship, even though it is against the Saudi law,
as you know. Around
35 people, including women and children…. Singing, praising, interceding,
sharing word of god…
It was so beautiful. After a long time I was attending such a service. I
don’t know whether you can
Understand our situation. All the religious activities are strictly
prohibited in this country.
But people are really thirsting to attend a gathering like this. Most part
of Saudi has such
Secret groups working now. There is a lot of secret services are happening
here. So please pray for such
Groups and the leaders. May god’s angels protect them from the eyes of
Saudi authorities. Last December when I went to see my wife, I got a chance
to attend a holy mass also.

Let us intercede for a noble cause- the religious freedom in Saudi
Arabia.
One year before here ( in turaif) one keralite man caught and send to
India. The only reason was
That they got bible and some religious pictures from his room. So you can
imagine how difficult
Is our situation here. So let our prayers open the gates of heaven and
may our lord do wonders here.
Regarding layamol, I am glad to share the happy news to
you. Initial two tests proved that
She has affected some serious disease. As a preliminary action hospital
authorities shifted her to
Another department in order to reduce her interaction with people. The
third and fourth tests was
Exactly against the first report. The hospital people were now in
confusion. They are thinking
How this happened. But we are sure that it is a miracle from god. I want
to express my thanks to
Each one for your strong prayer support.

Re: [JOYnet] Pray for Priests

2002-05-16 Thread nelson abel

   Dear joy netters,
Edychettan’s article regarding the need of prayer for priests,
stirred my memories. May be I also felt a little heaviness in my heart same
as josun. Yes priests are the wonderful gift from god. Whenever I remember
our dearest palliyachan I used to thank god for his beautiful gift of priest
hood. There is no doubt that we should pray for them and love them so that
our prayers and love make them strong.
In my child hood I had very strong desire to become a priest. But god’s
plan was different and now I am a married man. I lost my father when I was 5
years old. So I don’t have too much memories of my father. But my mother
used to say that my parents had a great desire to make me a priest. One of
my childhood play was enacting the priest and saying the mass by collecting
my friends. When I was in second slandered my class teacher asked us that
what we like to going to become. I said I want to become a priest. Then she
was happy and she encouraged me. Even all my relatives and neighbors
believed that I would become a priest one day. But when I entered into
teenage I found the sexual urge with in me and realized that I am unworthy
to the holy priesthood. After my 10th std. My mother asked me whether I want
to join seminary, I said no and give the reason that I want to take the
responsibility of my mother and younger sister. Yes these are all my old
stories. After my marriage
I said to my wife that we must have 4-5 children and let us start the prayer
that some of our children
May become consecrated for god. God plans everything. We can only hope for.
Till now we are waiting for a child. We are sure in his time god will give
us children.
You know regarding the parents of little flower? St.Teresa’s father
martin was an ex- seminarian.
Her mother celine was also a convent return. Martin and Celine had a great
desire for religious life. But god’s decision was deferent. One of their
children becomes a great saint in the church. Same case is regarding
St.Francis of Assisi. His mother pica had a strong desire for religious
life. But her parent’s didn’t allow her for such a life and she happened to
be married to Bernardine, a merchant. But her son
Francis entered into religious life and still now he is giving inspiration
to thousands of people in the world. So let us pray that our Jesus youth
families be grow in holiness, so that not only it produce vocation but also
offer little saints for our church.
May god bless you all
 Your brother in Jesus

[JOYnet] thanks for your prayers.

2002-01-05 Thread nelson abel

  Dear friends,
I am writing this mail with a heart full of joy & gratitude. I thank god
for placing me in a beautiful community like joynet.
Two days before I posted a mail asking for a prayer support. Actually two
weeks ago some problems started in my life. Initially I thought, everything
would be all right. But it grew and finally it becomes a huge mountain. And
I was almost lost my senses. Then I decided to ask your prayer support.
The result was fantastic. With in 24 hours, I got around 10 massages.
Fr. Thomas from U.S.A, Doctor Jomon & Jinu from ankamali, Joseph lonth from
U.A.E, Shobith from coimbatore, Nyttle from Singapore, Welchi from Bombay ,J
aison, Stanly kulangara, Joseph from satara, , Dencil Vincent.………. Every
body comforted me and assured their prayers. Really I felt the power of your
prayers.
Now things have been changed. My big problem has melted like snow. I
am sure it was a miracle and it happened only because of your prayers. I
want to thank each and every one for your love and care.
May our dear master keep us united and lead us in his everlasting love.
Wishing you a new year full of love, joy & peace.

[JOYnet] Re:

2001-12-07 Thread nelson abel

   Dear friends,
Now a days very interesting topic is going on for discussion. I want
to add some thing regarding dowry.
See, what ever name we call it either share or dowry, it becomes a
social evil now in our society. Think about the lower middle class family.
Many parents are suffering because of this evil. Parents will not send a
girl with empty handed. They will try to give their child maximum they can.
But always we can see a bargain in the marriage market. I want to share some
personal things with you.
Before 1 1/2 years, when I was searching for a girl, I got a letter from
one of my Jesus youth leader. He has written a few lines regarding one
proposal. He was written that- I have one educated girlwhos parents are
ready to give this much lack rupees and some land as her share. If you are
interested please give me a reply. When reading that letter I felt very sad.
Actually we cannot blame him. Because now the system is like that. If a boy
is trying for a marriage, everybody will ask him a question-what is your
demand? ( In lakhs). Same thing in girls case, the first question they are
asking will be how much you will give her?
Some body is telling that, for starting a new family some initial
investment necessary, so dowry can justifiable. Let me ask you one question,
do you think this amount (3lakh /5 lakh…what ever it may be) will be enough
to make secure your future life?
And with all his abundant wealth through Christ Jesus, my god will supply
all our needs. (Phil 4:19) why we are not able to trust in word of god? He
is the sovereign lord who fed five thousand people with five loaves of
bread. So don’t put your foundation with money, but if we build our family
in Jesus then it will be strong.
Before one year, at the time of my marriage lot of confusions came
because of this matter. At the initial stage itself I put one
condition-money should not be a factor. My aim was that the girl’s parents
should not run for money to send his daughter with me. So when things become
serious, mini’s (my wife) father told what amount they will give at the time
of marriage. Hearing the sum my relatives become disappointed. As per their
calculation I am eligible for a higher amount. Even thinking about her
family financial situation I was also afraid. Because she was the only
earning member in her family. Two younger brothers students. Papa & mummy
are sick persons. She is working as staff nurse in Saudi( in company). She
was in India for a vacation of 45 days. My first demand was either she will
extend her vacation for two months or should resign her job. As per demand
she applied for extention, but the chance was only 2%. So when she comes for
marriage preperation course, I asked her that after her marriage how her
family would survive? She said that god would show them a way. After
realizing her family situation, I was really confused thinking that whether
am I putting a burden on my head? But john Wilfred and Annie was with me
with great support and prayer. John gives me a thought. -Nelson may be god
want to enter this house through you. Yes that was a great thought and I
understood this as a god’s plan and I accepted it with much joy. On 27th
august, 2000, I married to mini. After 7 days her visa finished and no
information come from her company. So we thought she will be lost her job.
But I told her that we will support her family also. But god’s plan was
great. First week of October we received the letter from her company that
they renewed her visa and she reached Saudi on 15th October. Even though we
both are in Saudi, we are1500km away from each other. . We have completed
one year of our married life in which about 95 days stayed together. Both of
our families are happy now. Next week mini will be coming to my place
for a vacation of 45 days. So I hope you all will remember us in your
prayers.
So as a conclusion my opinion is the evil behind the dowry is the
greed for money. If a person who gives Jesus the first place in his life can
fight against this evil, even though it seems difficult.
With love and prayers
Your brother in Jesus

Re: [JOYnet] Joynet- the wonderful fellowship

2001-11-23 Thread nelson abel

   Hey friends,
Really joynet is on fire. All who were silent is coming out of their tent.
It is a reply for Nyttle’s mail. I will tell you a secret. She is my own
sister (even though we are from different family…. don’t ask too much
questions!!!)
I feel I have to introduce her to all of you. Our first meeting was in 1990
when we were studying in govt. engg. College, trichur. Every Tuesday we used
to gather in the church near the college. Tony varghese, a nice guy with
smiling face and humble nature, was the leader of our group. Jolly chechi,
sabu, martin, molija, Lucy, sasane.. I still remember the cheerful faces of
our dear Jesus youth friends. Even though she spends lot of time for lord’s
work, nyttle became the first rank holder in B.Tech (chemical). After the
college we scattered to different places.
In 1994 god bring us together in Delhi again for building up his
kingdom. Nyttle was one of the five who started Jesus youth in Delhi. She
was very active and spends her time, health, money.. Everything for lord’s
work in Delhi. First batch full timer biju Thomas, Benny, saju (mech.eng’r
from TKM), Alex, Sunil Simon.. Number of spirit filled youngsters who were
ready to do anything for lord’s name.
During that period she was very active in music ministry, christeen ….
After her marriage she went to Singapore along with her husband. . God has
blessed her by giving a loving and understanding husband Jose and two kids.
Praise god.
I am so happy to see her again in this wonderful fellowship e are now at
the different corners of the world, and yet this fellowship helps us to come
together in the precious name of our dear Jesus. May the Holy Spirit bind us
together in his love and help us to grow into a mature Christian wherever we
are.
You are now fellow citizens with god’s people and members of the family
of god……. In union with Jesus you too are being built together with all the
others into a place where god lives through his spirit. (Eph.: 2/ 19-22)

2001-11-15 Thread nelson abel

Dear friends in Jesus
Few days before I joined this joy net. I am nelson working in
Saudi Arabia. I came in Saudi in 1998 august. First two years I was working
in a big city named –jubail. With in three months I became a part of a good
catholic prayer group. Really it was a miracle. Every Friday we around 40
people gather together very secretly to praise and worship our lord and
master Christ. Many times god prepared his divine banquet and prepared his
table even in this desert, a place where his name is completely banned.
There I fond that how happy we will be if we are in the middle of god’s
people.
Since February 2001 I am working in a small city named turaif, which is
very near to Jordan border. As a project manager I have a lot of
responsibilities here. The evening before we started the project, I heard
the mass in my Walkman and offer my project to sacred heart of Jesus. And I
asked the lord to be the lord and master of our site. We have completed nine
months and I found lord was with me every moment.
Long time I was feeling lonely, because no one was here to pray with me
or to help in my doubts or to share my faith. I mean a Jesus youth or a
good believer. But just two weeks ago I got the chance to be a part of
joynet.now every day when I open the joy net I can really feel the joy that
I found only in Jesus youth groups. Really I was also madiyan before. Anyway
I will forget my laziness and I made a decision that I will not only listen
the mails but will start share my feelings also.
I have read Anita’s mail. It is so beautiful anitha.when I go through
your mail I found myself at the feet of our master. Really it helped me to
kneel before the lord. Congrats for alexy and shiny for their bold step
against abortion. We’ll pray for you so that miracle will happen in India.
Many people are doing so much pain and hard work to build god’s church in
Saudi, even though it is against Saudi law. Lot of prayer groups is active
in different parts of Saudi. So please remember them in your prayers. I
think I made a too lengthy one. If it is too boring please forgive me.
  With love
  Your friend in Jesus
