Overflow of the image IDs? Which database type do you use (MySQL or SQLite)? If
you are using MySQL and your database is very old, you should migrate to a new
database. We changed the IDs in MySQL to BIGINT quite a long time ago.
Otherwise it is difficult to imagine that you now had 9223372036854775807
images in the database.

[krita] [Bug 447628] New: The .profile and .shortcut files aren't being read when there's an alternative Resource Folder location

2021-12-28 Thread Jennifer Reuter
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447628

Bug ID: 447628
Summary: The .profile and .shortcut files aren't being read
when there's an alternative Resource Folder location
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.0.0
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
Component: Shortcuts and Canvas Input Settings
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: jarodragon@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The .profile and .shortcut files in the custom allocated Resource folder aren't
being read by Canvas Input Settings or Keyboard Shortcuts, despite newly
created files being saved there correctly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Allocate a different Resource Folder in General -> Resources configure
options. (In my example, instead of on C:/ drive, it's:
D:/UserFiles/AppData/Roaming/Krita.)
2. Duplicate "Krita Default" Canvas Input Settings in the 'Edit Profiles'
popup. Rename to something else (e.g. "My Default").
3. In 'D:/UserFiles/AppData/Roaming/Krita/input', a 'mydefault.profile' gets
created. (Can confirm the settings are different to Krita Default when opened
in a text editor)
4. During the current session, settings are remembered.
5. Upon closing Krita, and re-opening it, the profile isn't visible within
settings as an option; Krita Default gets picked again.
6. The file 'mydefault.profile' is still visible in the file explorer at the
D:/ location.

The above process is equally applicable to .shortcuts files.

OBSERVED RESULT
The program does not remember, or read, the .profile or .shortcuts files in the
'input' and 'shortcuts' folders of my custom allocated Resource folder
location.

EXPECTED RESULT
Upon creating my custom Input and Shortcut settings, they should save in the
right resource folder AND be read from it.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
- Windows: 10, Build 19042
- C:/ is located on an SSD, D:/ is located on an HDD.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I've currently gone around the problem by copying my preferred .profile and
.shortcuts files into the original C: Resource location. It seems to read them
fine there.

[krita] [Bug 447513] Crash caused from using 'Search' form in the Pattern section of a Fill Layer

2021-12-28 Thread John
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447513

I did some additional experimentation and it looks like the issue is somehow
connected to the data in the local config folder. After backing the data up, I
did some selective folder deletes (keeping the brushes and custom palettes). So
far, seems to clear up the sporadic crashing and search form crashes.

So, old data from 4.x seemed to be the culprit.

Robby Stephenson changed:

I believe you're using the "Album" template for the Music Collection and that
behavior is specific to that template. Using Default or Fancy, for example, it
would show what you expect.

The Album template is largely tied to the default Music Collection fields,
especially for tracks, where it does expect to see a duration in the 3rd
column, and then adds a total album duration in the view. The track number is
just added by the view template, not in the collection data itself, as well. In
addition, even with not changing the 3rd track column or adding more columns,
the Album template always combines the first two.

So in short, not really a bug, just behavior from the specific template. I'll
see if I can make it fail more gracefully, but in the mean time, just open up
the configuration and change the template for music collections.

Noticed that this is not yet really a good solution. At least /etc/xdg.
Problem is that distributions already pack default kde settings into /etc/xdg
and if I put in my custom ones (auto and offline updates) they will get
overwritten by updates.
Would need another directory to load config files from which gets prioritized
over /etc/xdg, so that I can safely overwrite distributions defaults without
losing my settings after updates. How to add a path for kde configs between
/home/.config and /etc/xdg?

[plasmashell] [Bug 447623] New: Truncate filenames in the middle

2021-12-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447623

Bug ID: 447623
Summary: Truncate filenames in the middle
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.23.4
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Folder
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: tomash...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

In the folder view, long filenames are truncated at the end, so for a filename
like this: "Sample filename document from 2002.docx", it will get truncated to
something like this: "Sample filename document fro..." (depending on your icon
size and label width). It would make more sense to truncate filenames from the
middle for two reasons:
1) The file extension might be quite helpful at times (imagine you want to drag
the file to be opened in certain app - extension will give you a hint as to
which application would open it).
2) Similar files (or versions of each other) are quite often differentiated at
the end. Imagine another document like this: "Sample filename document from
2003.pdf" - you could not tell it from the original one.

This has been requested once before:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277882 - solved by not truncating at all
in Dolphin.

Try to reconfigure your time zone in systemsettings. Apparently something broke
that setting. I had the same issue and found out (via plasmaengineexplorer, if
you want to check it out on your system) that plasma's time-DataSource reported
an empty DataTime for the "Local" time but a correct time for all time zones.
So I went for the time zone dialog in systemsettings and set the time zone to
the correct one and at least here the digital clock shows a correct time again
and the calendar widget shows correct dates.

5.1.2 as the current version. Also the packages Gwenhywfar and AqBanking need

The only difference is that my experience is on the initial setup screen. The
other report is in the application itself. It's very likely that it's the same
issue, however, they moved config files over from an old system which probably
let them skip setting a name.

I can only assume the idea behind the default setting to take an screenshot
immediately. Now that we have an appropriate setting, the user can choose on
it's own.
If we want to change the default and document it in the docs of Spectacle is up
for a debate. Currently the handbook states:
"Spectacle grabs an image of your entire desktop immediately after it is
started, but before it displays itself on screen. This allows you to quickly
create full-desktop screenshot images."

[plasmashell] [Bug 447617] New: Add option to allow .desktop files to be seen with their Desktop Entry Name in any folder

2021-12-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447617

Bug ID: 447617
Summary: Add option to allow .desktop files to be seen with
their Desktop Entry Name in any folder
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.23.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Folder
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: bode...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

In the Desktop folder, Folder View shows .desktop files with the name defined
in that file instead of as the actual filename. Outside of the Desktop folder,
these files are shown with their actual filename.

For example, it will show 'org.kde.dolphin.desktop' instead of 'Dolphin'.

I would like a check mark option in the settings for each Folder View widget
which causes these files to be seen with their Desktop name.

The reason I want this is that organize the Desktop into folders, and have
multiple Folder View widgets pointing to different folders. For example, I
could place all the LibreOffice applications into a folder and point a Folder
View widget at it. Or I could place Krita, Blender, and GIMP into a folder and
have another Folder View for that.

Launching these applications works fine already, so it's just the appearance I
want to be able to change.

Thanks.

I see that X11 was added in the meantime. Is this behaviour not present in
wayland?

As for your question, it does solve my issue, yes. But I still find that very
confusing for newcomers why the heck spectacle takes screenshot on launch if
there's "on click" enabled right there.
And even if "on click" option isn't set spectacle takes screenshot right away,
without delay that also set.

It is very counterintuitive and UI doesn't explain WHY it behaves like that.

It also happens for me when i import large bundles. Removing the resource

to fix the issue, until i add new large bundles there as well..

The / key also works instantly. Deactivating the bundle also does not fix the

Symptoms are similar. At some point, I recall I was looking mouse preferences
too; hence I tried to connect a mouse and mess with its KCM in the video. But
somehow mouse works OK for me.

I don't know which logs to collect, or which services to debug. Any ideas?

> Cannot reproduce on Wayland on Fedora 35.

I'm pretty sure it's some platform code which is as close to X and input
handling as it might get.

[systemsettings] [Bug 447612] New: Touchpad preferences bug: Preferences are reset upon login

2021-12-28 Thread ratijas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447612

Bug ID: 447612
Summary: Touchpad preferences bug: Preferences are reset upon
login
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_touchpad
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@ratijas.tk
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Touchpad settings are not loaded upon login, until you manually toggle any
option in Touchpad KCM page and hit Apply. If you do that, any modifications
will be reverted (instead of being applied), but you'll get all your previously
set options active once again.

I recorded this video on a brick-phone (thus pardon for the quality) so I could
show my hands' movement in sync with what's going on the screen.

https://youtu.be/BPGYmdSnVDc

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Start KDE/Plasma X11 session.
2. Open System Settings -> Input -> Touchpad.
3. Toggle any checkbox.
4. Hit Apply.

OBSERVED RESULT

Touchpad is back to its "usual settings" instead of factory default, KCM is
unusable in a sense that it has no effect other than somehow triggering system
to load those previous "usual settings".

EXPECTED RESULT

Touchpad should work normally. Settings should be applied to it as soon as user
logs in. Touchpad KCM should correctly save its preferences.

I hope the comment in kcms/keyboard/keyboardsettings.kcfg file helps that a

This already contains the first step to identify and remove dead items in the

sufficient, but activate the option for extra cleanup and vacuum.

Committed on 28/12/2021 at 18:33.
Pushed by cullmann into branch 'master'.

Validates the input method attributes received from input method.

A buggy input method may send invalid values to the widget.
E.g. out of range cursor position. Make sure we don't use such value
directly.

Probably a kwin issue. I never have such issue in my system. It should also be
reproducable with plasma panels. Users have reported that usually occurs after
opening a computer after sleeping it. Nothing related to Latte.

Take also note that Latte does not require from you to set a shortcut.

Screenshot of left side of top panel (left icon is application menu)

SUMMARY

I have the application menu widget in the far left of my always visible top
panel. I have the press super/meta to activate Application Launcher option
enabled in latte settings to open the application menu with my windows key, and
usually it works fine. However, sometimes it stops working completely (no
response at all from windows key), and disabling + re-enabling the option
doesn't do anything. I've tried to set the shortcut for the widget itself to
alt+f1 and in shortcuts->latte dock->activate application launcher widget, but
settings those doesn't help either.
A restart has so far consistently fixed the issue.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Normal usage
2. Bug randomly occurs

OBSERVED RESULT
Super/meta key randomly stops opening application menu widget

EXPECTED RESULT
Super/meta key opens application menu widget in top latte panel
