We need to > somehow nail down the actual problem on your system now. This is not a > global problem with our windows build since we have many successful > installations. In deep, I have a Dell notebook, with Dell Optimizer running in the background. However, even with the optimizer running in the background, I can execute the old pre-2.9.0-official release version. I have a labplot2.exe dated 2021-12-20. This LabPlot comes up and runs rather instantaneously. With this in mind: is a background task responsible for labplot2 2.9 and newer not firing up? However, I will test version 2.10 again, then without the Dell background manager working in the background. I will inform you again. Best regards, Peter. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Now I tried a fresh install of EOS and Garuda and updated everything but did not add additionally software apart from the wayland-session package. I had the same issue. My bigger monitor didn´t show anything in the wayland session, but in the x11 session it does. When I am in the wayland-session and reduce the screenresolution of the bigger monitor to the next lower setting it shows the desktop, if I then raise it again to the max resolution the desktop disappears again. I also tried kubuntu. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=467991 Bug ID: 467991 Summary: Feature: Possible to add a QtWebview Captive portal opener? Classification: Plasma Product: plasma-nm Version: 5.27.3 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: applet Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: amanita+kdeb...@mailbox.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Android has this integrated Captive portal viewing browser, allowing you to accept the public wifis TOS or enter a code etc. then giving you internet Access. Currently on Linux the only way is through your default Browser, and especially Firefox doesnt really handle that well, it uses their own Servers only and seems not to work when hardened. EXPECTED RESULT A button opening something like the Webbrowser applet, that opens a small browser page with a user defined HTTP URL like http://httpforever.com that gets then redirected to the portal. The tools for that should be already present and a button either appearing if a connected wifi doesnt have internet access, or always, next to the airplane for example, could be really useful. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Screencast: fix renegotiation when client fails to use DMABuf modifiers When client fails to import a DMABuf with a certain modifier, it will remove it from offerings on his side and offer a new set of modifiers for us to use. In case the list ends up being small enough that even we won't be able to use any of the modifiers, we would still keep these modifiers on our list and offering them to the client. With this we would end up in a loop renegotiating and never actually fallback to use MemFD buffers instead. We should also offer modifier-less DMABufs as in the past. Using these we just need to avoid offering them as they should be used as the last option. [kwin] [Bug 468003] New: [FeatureRequest] Search a Konsole session through windows by shell history with Overview
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468003 Bug ID: 468003 Summary: [FeatureRequest] Search a Konsole session through windows by shell history with Overview Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: effects-overview Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: ofi...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- To start, a bit of context. Everyone knows memes about opening of hundreds of tabs in a browser. But it's not just memes for me, it's a real suffering. And the same sometimes happens with Konsole windows: when I concentrated on my work, I have no mental resources to properly close countless windows. Instead, I just open a new window with a shortcut and go on. There can be up to a hundred tabs in my real scenario. And yes, this is a complete mess, it's really hard to search the window you need to get it back by some reason. And I want to believe I'm not alone with the issue My way to deal with the issue is the following: I've written a simple script which saves bash command history to the title of the current Konsole window. Then I can search through windows with an Overview or a Present Windows effect and this has a great effect on my experience. But still, the solution has drawbacks: the title length is limited, I can't store neither long history nor long argument list for commands which means my UX is very limited: I store only command names Since I don't see a better way to solve this issue from my side and improve the UX on my own, I propose allowing the Overview to natively search through text content of windows Ideally, it should be a general solution for all types of windows and application, but to start a discussion about the concept in general, I propose only integration with Konsole as an initial idea -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 467100] Primary Display should be indexed 0
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=467100 --- Comment #4 from Dominik Kummer --- (In reply to David Edmundson from comment #2) > How does changing the starting index help? Sorry for my late answer! I missed the mail notification. Probably the issue is fixed with the latest update, I'll watch it. I experienced the issue as follows: My simple Setup: [monitor] -- [primary notebook display] Some window rules place application windows depending if monitor is connected or not. Most applications I want to place on my primary display, which are by default on screen index 0. As additional screens are connected, I consider them secondary and tertiary for example (index 1 and 2) Once I had to disconnect and reconnect the monitor for some reason. So it happened that suddenly my primary applications where placed on my secondary monitor. I did reconnect the monitor several times, and the window rule indices where interpreted randomly. I think it has something to do with the new taskbar display configuration feature (unify, extend left, extend right) because as I played arround with its settings, the display indices changed back as expected. So I assume that primary display should be guaranteed to be index 0. Index 1, 2, n should extend to right or left depending on the taskbar display configuration, right? Maybe you can reproduce the bug, I'll keep an eye on it and report. thanks! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433859 --- Comment #8 from Paul Floyd --- So far I've done basic testing on FreeBSD amd64, FreeBSD x86, Linux glibx amd64, Linux musl amd64 and Illumos. I'll have a go with older Solaris and macOS at a later date. A few todos: Updated the documentation. Figure out how to add the new user rteq to memcheck.h and include that in vg_replace_malloc.c There are a couple of design decisions that I might rework. 1. Lots of stuff is being done in the vg_replace_malloc.c macro wrappers. Specifically there's a new client request in addition to all of the existing checks and alignment fixup. This could probably be done differently, moving all the code to some common functions in replacemalloc_core.c and then doing the memcheck stuff in the respective wrappers. 2. I've added a tag to the replacement alloc fn macros so that I can have enum names like AllocKindVecDeleteSizedAligned . I could reuse the string used for the function name to call, but that would give me enum names like alloc_kind___builtin_vec_delete_aligned_sized which I find ugly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[frameworks-kio] [Bug 423756] kio: cgroup creation race condition
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423756 --- Comment #4 from David Edmundson --- At a ubuntu level if you can patch startplasma.cpp startkde/startplasma.cpp 342:qputenv("KDE_APPLICATIONS_AS_SCOPE", "1"); to 342:qputenv("KDE_APPLICATIONS_AS_SERVICE", "1"); and land https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kio/-/merge_requests/1019 so we don't regress something important. I apparently haven't followed up on the latter, so I'll do so now and get it in the next frameworks. The env var guard existed because we couldn't rely on new system which had the new exit type at the time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[dolphin] [Bug 467682] Initiate filter bar when typing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=467682 --- Comment #2 from Michael D --- Actually, combining search and filter makes sense as longer as there is an option to search only within the current folder (and not recursively through subfolders), thereby providing filter functionality. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdevelop] [Bug 467980] Kdevelop hanged afer run using CLI
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=467980 --- Comment #3 from Marek Witkowski --- (In reply to Igor Kushnir from comment #1) > Try opening another session or a new session: `kdevelop -n test-session`. > > The backtrace is too short. Have you tried attaching to the hanging kdevelop > process with GDB and printing the backtrace of all threads? > gdb -batch -ex "thread apply all bt" -ex "quit" -p 12345 > > /some/path/hanging-kdevelop.bt > ("12345" in the command stands for the hanging kdevelop process ID) > If you get the `ptrace: Operation not permitted.` error, run the following > command before repeating the gdb command: > echo 0 | sudo tee /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope > (you can revert the configuration change with `echo 1 | sudo tee > /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope`) After `kdevelop -n test-session` works fine. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Could you run the gdb -batch command several times on a single hanging kdevelop process to compare backtraces and maybe figure out where the process is stuck? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 467990] wallpaper doesn't change on second monitor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=467990 veggero changed: What|Removed |Added CC||niccolo.venera...@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from veggero --- Currently, this is intended behaviour, and there's no plan to change that. However, we could ideally make it easier to apply a new wallpaper to all monitor if the user wants to; maybe this bug could be changed to become such a feature request? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[krita] [Bug 468005] New: Dual color picker partly affected by OCIO exposure when OCIO turned off
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468005 Bug ID: 468005 Summary: Dual color picker partly affected by OCIO exposure when OCIO turned off Classification: Applications Product: krita Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!) Platform: Appimage OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Color Selectors Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: erji...@alumni.iu.edu Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY The dual color picker behaves strangely when OCIO is turned on and the exposure setting is adjusted. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open new linear floating-point document. 2. Open LUT Management docker. 3. Enable Use OpenColorIO 4. Set Color Engine to OCIO 5. Set Exposure to -6.64 6. Disable Use OpenColorIO 7. Double-click on the top-left color swatch in the dual color picker. 8. Select the bottom-left of the color triangle. 9. Close dialog and double-clicik on bottom-right color swatch in the dual color picker. 10. Select the bottom-left of the color triangle. OBSERVED RESULT Top-left swatch color picker goes up to RGB(99.73, 99.73, 99.73) even though OCIO disabled and Exposure field is disabled. Bottom-right swatch color picker goes up to RGB(65535, 65535, 65535) even though the document is floating-point. EXPECTED RESULT Color picker should not have confusing, arbitrary maximum based on Exposure when OCIO is turned off. The color pickers for each of the two swatches should behave the same and have floating-point values. [Discover] [Bug 459207] Discover less usable while fetching updates after being launched
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=459207 --- Comment #2 from Aleix Pol --- It should work fine, maybe it's a better thing to fix. What do you mean exactly by "less usable"? Can you maybe check if it's flatpak or dnf slowing it down? You can do it by running "plasma-discover --backends packagekit" and "plasma-discover --backends flatpak" respectively. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
