Re: [kicad-users] Plot issue on PCBNew

2009-01-05 Thread Alain M.
A similar issue was discussed on the Brazilian list...

It was Renies's suggestion to check if you a good board edge. It's
something to do with Gerber's limit that default to the first track in
the file.

As this is a recurrent problem, maybe it could be addressed in the
Gerber genetation code...

[kicad-users] Plot issue on PCBNew

2009-01-05 Thread dandumit
Hi,
I have just finished one board and unfortunately when going to plot I
have found that ploting doesn't work at all. Choosing gerber only
opens a small green dot , PS files also are not containing correct
informations.
Files are around 20KB on disk, and I have opened them with an text
editor and it seems that all coordinates inside of them are reffering
to an 82670 value (example below).

I really need some help because I need this board to be made.

On the other hand, using printing , it seems to "Recognise" the board
and it seems to print the board.

Thanks.
Daniel

Re: [kicad-users] Eagle to kicad converter

2009-01-05 Thread Wei Lu
You are right on the easiness of editing the library yourself.

Just keep on rotate the 40 pins, and delete the board and put on the right one.
lots of mouse click though.

However the reason I prefer to convert the library than build it myself from
scratch is to avoid human errors, especially to the complex CPUs.
I bet TI has made lots of effort to make sure those library are almost error
free.
And that is definitely the value of converting the library.

Regards,

Wei

The KiCad module and Library editor is so simple to use that you don't really
need to "borrow" Eagle Library symbols. Even for complex parts like the TI

I really really recommend you to learn to use the Kicad lib/mod editor, it's

More importantly, if an old geek like me can learn how to use it, you can too!

Re: [kicad-users] Default title block and border

2009-01-05 Thread Gary L. Roach
Sorry, I guess I didn't make myself clear. I want to change everything
about the title block and borders. I am sure that most organizations
would like a completely different layout and content to match their
prior work. I want to make the whole block bigger. I already use the A
size setting. There isn't room to make the printing bigger than I now am
using. Thanks for trying to help.

To fix pad orientation, in Module Editor (5th button on toolbar in PCBnew),
right click on each pad and select "Edit Pad", then "Pad Orient"

I am trying to convert the eagle library provided by TI for the MSP430

However for the PN80 (80LQFP) package of MSP430x5xx, the two side pins

Is there any solution to this?

I am learning Kicad as well. Here is what I think you can do.

On top of the window of EESchema, there is a line of push buttons, click on the
one that says page settings (with two arrows), and you can select the A size.

Font can be changed in the preference drop down menu.
