Re: [Koha] Order PDF report

2017-02-22 Thread Katrin

Hi,

the PDFs created from the basket group page can't be customized without
changing files in Koha at the moment. See:

Bug 10135 -Adding the ability to define customised basketgroups pdf layouts
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=10135

And also:

Bug 10746 -Improving PDF printing of baskets - Omnibus
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=10746

I've added a German translation of the PDF a while ago, that you can
switch to using the OrderPdfFormat system preference. It's a 2-page
version, in the 3-page version an additional summary page of all
included baskets is printed as the second page.

In 16.11 we've added a feature to send out orders by e-mail that is
based on the ACQORDER notice template and can be changed easily:

Bug 5260 - Add option to send an order by e-mail to the acquisition module
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=5260

Hope this helps,

Katrin

Re: [Koha] problem Installing koha on ubuntu 12.04

If you are using Ubuntu 16.04 you can configure your MySQL to be less
strict or use MariaDB. Instructions can be found on the wiki:

Ubuntu 12.04LTS is getting "older" but is still [at least partially]
supported until 2019. My experience is that Ubuntu 16.04LTS needs
"downgrading" of MySQL (to 5.6 from 5.7) for Koha. The Wiki reference
you cite is not very clear on all this.

Given the statistics for usage of Ubuntu servers (anecdotally "quite
prevalent", no proof) I would suggest that it behooves our Koha
community to be clearer on what exactly is involved -- it's not
"rocket science", but it obviously could be a "good thing (tm)" to
have a write-up available on the reasons why, and what is involved.

I get the impression, perhaps incorrectly, that the difficulties
described in this query involve a 32-bit system. If this is not
possible, shouldn't we say from which version forward 32-bit packages
are no longer suitable for Koha installation?

We are indeed opting for 16.11 and we are then working to a minimum upgrade

The trigger for the change from Koha 2.x to Koha 3.x was the
introduction of Zebra and a new presentation theme. Nothing quite so
revolutionary occurred to trigger a change from 3.x to 4.x.
Additionally, a move to 4.x might have caused some confusion for victims
of a particular fork. As we have time-based releases in May and
November each year, the 'yy.mm' pattern makes a lot of sense.

What triggered the change from 1.x to 2.x? From the 'Timeline', it
looks like MARC support was added at v1.3. Was it just that we'd
reached 1.9 and 2.0 was logically the next place to go?

I think the Timeline on the About page is an awesome community asset.
Thanks to those who maintain it!

Re: [Koha] Koha MARC Tag - Table of Contents

2017-02-22 Thread Michael Kuhn

Hi

You should ask Insead how they set that up, there is no way for us to
know how they are doing full text searching.
To me it doesn't look like they are, they just have a pdf attached.
But they will be able to tell you

A very quick look would appear to suggest that they have a full 505$a
(that is "hidden" from the client browser, but is present in the "page
source"), and then an 856 $u and $z for the .pdf.

Perhaps guesswork on my behalf, and I have no idea what "alchemy" (css?,
js?) might be in the background, but from a MARC point of view appears
fairly straightforward.

When looking at the given URL:

http://librarycatalogue.insead.edu/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=83836_desc=kw%2Cwrdl%3A%20marketing

I see the following:

1. Instead of showing the actual URL (MARC 856 $u) or the link text ($y)
they just show a PDF image - this can be coded in the original XSL file
(I've done something similar with Antolin images, look here:
https://opac.treuchtlingen.de/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=13327
) - the image then links to the actual PDF file (
http://librarycatalogue.insead.edu/pdf/83836.pdf ) which is better
readable than the content of MARC 590 $a

My own code in "MARC21slim2OPACDetail.xsl" looked like this, just as an
example:

  Antolin

/opac-tmpl/select="$theme"/>/images/antolinrabe.jpg

vertical-align:middle
25
25

2. To me it seems in fact not the PDF file is indexed but they just
extracted (maybe even by copy & paste) the content and inserted it into
MARC 590 $a as you can see here:
http://librarycatalogue.insead.edu/cgi-bin/koha/opac-MARCdetail.pl?biblionumber=83836
- of course like this MARC 590 would just be indexed like any other MARC
field, so there is no need to find a way to index the PDF file. (Well,
I'm not sure if MARC 590 is indexed by default, but this can be
configured in Zebra)

Maybe this helps?

Best wishes: Michael

Re: [Koha] Difference between 3.22 and 16.11

2017-02-22 Thread Katrin

Hi Doug,

the last 3.xx version was 3.22, after that, we switched. So after 3.22
was 16.05, then 16.11. We currently actively maintain the last 3
versions, so 3.22 - 16.05. In May, when 17.05 is released, it's like
that 3.22 will see its 'end of life'.

Hope that clears it up,

Katrin

2017-02-22 Thread Michael Kuhn

Hi Doug

Dan, I am confused also. I thought we moved to the YY.xx.xx convention.

> I'm not sure why we are still maintaining the 3.xx convention. What am
> I missing?

Dan asked for the technical differences between Koha 3.22 an 16.11.

Koha 3.22 was released in November 2015
* https://koha-community.org/koha-3-22-released/

Koha 16.05 was released in May 2016 (instead of Koha 3.24)
* https://koha-community.org/koha-16-05-released/

Koha 16.11 was released in November 2016
* https://koha-community.org/koha-16-11-released-2/

Koha 16.11 was in fact 16.11.0, but since we're already at 16.11.4 also
the following release notes have to be studied to really know about all
the differences between Koha 3.22 and 16.11.4:

* https://koha-community.org/koha-16-11-01-released
* https://koha-community.org/koha-16-11-02-released
* https://koha-community.org/koha-16-11-03-security-release
* https://koha-community.org/koha-16-11-04-release

Hope this helps.

Best wishes: Michael

Re: [Koha] Publisher Authority Type

2017-02-22 Thread Hernandez, Heather
Hi, Krishna!

The data in the 260 field (or the 264) is transcribed data--it should be
transcribed from the item, and may not be the same as the authorized form
of the publisher's name in the authority file. For example, a book may
have on the title page (made up example):

"Oxford at the University Press 2016."

This could be transcribed as:

260 _ _ $a Oxford : $b University Press, $c 2016.

But the authorized form of the name of this publisher in the authority file
in OCLC & the Library of Congress is:

110 2_ Oxford University Press.

So the record would have a 710 field with the authorized form of the name
for searching, access, etc.:

710 2_ Oxford University Press.

The 260 $b and the 710 may be identical, but not necessarily. The
transcription becomes important when trying to identify particular
editions, printings, etc., especially in special collections, with rare
materials, etc.

I hope this helps clarify! Cheers,
h2

Re: [Koha] Search not working

2017-02-22 Thread i.pr...@zigzagee.com

Katrin,

This was my problem. Search wasn't working because there was some
confusion between UNIMARC & MARC21 during the installation. The
option to choose the flavour is presented with the koha-create $instance &
 koha 1st time web installation.

Regards,
Ian

On 19/02/2017 22:08, Katrin wrote:

Hi Vanda,

when using UNIMARC you will have to choose it in 2 places, maybe one
was missed?

Before the instance is created, you need to tell Koha that it will be
using UNIMARC. You can do so by changing ZEBRA_MARC_FORMAT="marc21" in
/etc/koha/koha-sites.conf to "unimarc". This will affect the indexing
configuration and can be the cause of why your search might not work,
when the records itself look correct.

Then, when running the web installer, you also need to make sure
UNIMARC is selected there. This will affect which cataloguing
frameworks (MARC field and subfield definitions) are installed.

Hope this helps,

Katrin

I did and I'm facing the same search problems as you. I note the
koha-conf.xml file seems to
have a lot of MARC21 references. Not sure if this needs to change to
UNIMARC. This was just the template file that was generated through the
installation.

I tried the koha-rebuild-zebra -f -a -b -v $instance approach
recommended

but that didn't
fix the search problems. if you want to know where it is just use

koha-rebuild-zebra

A very quick look would appear to suggest that they have a full 505$a

Perhaps guesswork on my behalf, and I have no idea what "alchemy" (css?,

fairly straightforward.

[Koha] Summary: Koha Devel Meeting, 22 Februrary 2017

2017-02-22 Thread Nick Clemens
Hi All,

We had a productive dev meeting today, just wanted to highlight some of our
discussions for the general list readers. If this seems useful I will try
to send these updates after each dev meeting:

The Onboarding tool
 still
needs more testing (see Jonathan's email here:
http://lists.koha-community.org/pipermail/koha-devel/2017-February/043481.html)

This tool will make it easier for those setting up a new instance to enable
necessary settings and configuration and generally make Koha setup more
friendly.

It was proposed as a possibility to roll the tool out in English first, and
add other languages as they are tested. Ideally we would have as much
testing as possible now. We will discuss and vote on how to move ahead at
the next Developers meeting (8 March 2017, 19UTC)

The ru-RU and uk-UA languages were discussed for possible removal as there
has been no maintenance, if you are using these or interested in helping
maintain (or have strong opinion) please let us know.

Testing and QA teams can always use more help so let us know if you are
interested.

Other interesting notes:
ElasticSearch dependencies are being packaged by Mirko
Jonathan continues work on refactoring and moving things to the Koha
namespace (see here

for Koha::Patron status)
OverDrive integration has been pushed to master

The next meeting will be 8 March 2017, 19UTC
,
I hope to see you there.

Re: [Koha] SQL Report-Circulation-- Help

2017-02-22 Thread SATISH
Hi Jonathan,

I did a mistake with WHERE Coditions, like;
p.categorycode=<> INSTEAD OF
borrowers.categorycode
(http://schema.koha-community.org/16_05/tables/old_issues.html )

and this was throwing error : Unknown column 'p.categorycode' in 'where
clause'

Now, I have corrected my query with the syntax you had mentioned, as It
works now! Thank you, here is the corrected SQL Query.

Title: Borrower's complete transactions report between "date range" + "by
patron category" + "by item type
--
SELECT borrowers.cardnumber, borrowers.surname,borrowers.firstname,
borrowers.streetnumber, borrowers.categorycode,items.barcode,
DATE_FORMAT(old_issues.issuedate, "%d %b %Y %h:%i %p") As issuedate,
DATE_FORMAT(old_issues.date_due, "%d %b %Y %h:%i %p") As date_due,
DATE_FORMAT(old_issues.lastreneweddate, "%d %b %Y %h:%i %p") As
lastreneweddate,
DATE_FORMAT(old_issues.returndate, "%d %b %Y %h:%i %p") As returndate,
EXTRACTVALUE( b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag="245"]/subfield[@code>="a"]' )
AS TITLE,
items.itype, items.location, items.ccode,items.itemcallnumber, items.price
FROM old_issues
LEFT JOIN borrowers ON ( borrowers.borrowernumber =
old_issues.borrowernumber )
LEFT JOIN items ON ( items.itemnumber = old_issues.itemnumber )
LEFT JOIN biblioitems AS b ON ( items.biblioitemnumber = b.biblioitemnumber)
WHERE borrowers.categorycode=<> AND
items.itype=<> AND
old_issues.issuedate BETWEEN <> and <> ORDER BY old_issues.issuedate

Re: [Koha] SQL Report-Circulation-- Help

2017-02-22 Thread Jonathan Druart
Hello Satish,

To add conditions to a SQL query you just need to separate them with the
"AND" keyword, do not repeat "WHERE".

So it's:
  SELECT fields
  FROM TABLE
  WHERE condition_a AND condition_b AND condition_c

Jonathan

[Koha] SQL Report-Circulation-- Help

2017-02-22 Thread SATISH
Hi,

With Koha 16.5/Package Installation/ Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop /

I looking for Borrower's complete transactions report between "date range"
and "by patron category" and "by itemtype".
I reason for the report is: to keep the record in hard copy for entire
semester's transactions.

I am trying following report, with date range, am successful but when added
patron category and itemtype (last two line in WHERE section), it's failing.

Can someone help me to get this report or please correct me, if I am wrong
in the query??
