[LegacyUG] Hashtags

[Ian Macaulay]

Did I mess up or did the upgrade to 10 remove all my hash tagged data?
I have a list of available hashtags but there are no check marks and no
counts.

Highlight the Hashtag you want to remove
Click the Delete button.

What you said was absolutely right. The tag did get deleted from the 
individual. Now take the next step and go to the "Search Hashtags" on 
the toolbar. The list of tags is still there along with the count. 
This is where I want to delete the named tag from the list of available.

Thanks. I've done what was needed (giving a group of only 15, the hashtag 
"Unreliable - NZ").  That could have been done one by one, but knowing how to 
do it for the precise groupings that Legacy allows will be useful knowledge, 
for "next time". 

Help files: yes, my mistake about PDF. I did purchase the PDF file some time 
ago (4+ years?), and that the Microsoft Help format file is updated each new 
release of LFT is good to know.

Hi Cathy,

Thank you for responding.  Yes, I make sure the checkbox is actually checked.   
Yesterday before messaging the list I created a hashtag "test".  When I did 
that the other two hashtags appeared again in the list.  If I delete the "test" 
hashtag then ALL of the hashtags disappear.  After playing around a little it 
looks like when I delete one hashtag they all disappear.  When a create a new 
hashtag all of the undeleted hashtags reappear.

Hashtag is explained on pg 51 of the instruction book.  It is only
available in the deluxe version of the software.

In my opinion” Hashtags” are something I’ve used for years in Legacy

I created hidden events/facts starting with a “.”. I could then add it
(with notation, date and place)  to a person.

I think “Hash tagging” should be useful  if  it coould be used  with other
master data, locations, events  etc.
