[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56382] New: Conditional formatting gets lost when opened with LibreOffice. Works with OpenOffice though.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56382 Priority: medium Bug ID: 56382 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Conditional formatting gets lost when opened with LibreOffice. Works with OpenOffice though. Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: sponks...@web.de Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.6.2.2 release Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 69051 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=69051action=edit Conditional formatting gets lost when opened. Works with OpenOffice though. A spreadsheet created with LibreOffice 3.6.2.2 loses conditional formatting when re-opened. In the attached (test) file, most cells seem to be affected. In the file I originally found this bug, conditional formatting is only lost in more recent cells (starting at row 699 with made me think the number of conditionally formatted cells might be limited). When I copy the formatting of other cells it works as it should, but only until the file is opened the next time. The problem seems to occur while loading the file, because it is saved correctly - I found the correct formatting in content.xml and if opened in OpenOffice (3.2.0) it works as well. The test file contains one column with random numbers and conditional formatting for three different colors which I repeated for several hundred rows. Then I saved the file and could reproduce the error. If the file is saved again after opening it in LibreOffice (without restoring the formatting manually), conditional formatting is removed completely - also when viewed with OpenOffice. Another test revealed that this bug occurs even with just 15 cells in the speadsheet. Now I realized that the only cell still working was A3 which is the one I manually set the format in the first place and then replicated it by dragging the black corner up and down. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6 Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de changed: What|Removed |Added Depends on||55939 --- Comment #156 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de --- Added bug 55939 - “FILESAVE RTF export faulty file when text has footnotes”. This is an important regression introduced in LibreOffice 3.5.6.1 (not present until 3.5.5.3), and also affecting all 3.6.x and Master builds. It makes it *impossible* to save any Writer file containing any footnotes in RTF format, because the RTF file will be corrupted (non-matching braces). I add the bug to this (3.6 MAB) list, and not to the 3.5 MAB list (bug 37361), because AFAIK the 3.5 MAB list is more or less closed now. (No more 3.5.x releases are planned officially, even if it is possible that there will be a 3.5.8 release. IMHO this bug, being a regression *during* the 3.5.x release cycle, would be one more good reason to actually release a 3.5.8 version, just to fix such late regressions. ;-)) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56289] creating/editing python macros is grayed in macro organizer dialog
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56289 --- Comment #6 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk --- Marc, I am only a simple volunteer QAer who happened to come across your report and take an interest, not a developer. You might like to voice your (justified IMO) concerns on the developer mailing list. The requirement for what was OpenOffice.org, and now LibreOffice, to run on multiple OSes resulted in various kludges/tricks for getting the Python-UNO, Java-UNO, X-UNO bridges to run. Maintenance has always been a problem and a limitation with regard to the implementations that are possible. It doesn't help that the OSes themselves, apart from the various Linux distributions, were not always very Python friendly (e.g. Mac OSX, Windows). However, that is the historical reason for why things are as they are today. In addition, this won't change unless someone can be bothered to re-implement them in a way that satisfies the multi-arch/platform criteria and still lets you manipulate your objects/data/structures in the way that is coherent with current development within the project, which in itself would be no mean feat. If you are looking for Python-UNO related documentation, then you might want to look to the mothership project : http://www.openoffice.org/udk/python/python-bridge.html http://www.devshed.com/c/a/Python/Python-and-OpenOfficeorg/ http://drbacchus.com/openoffice-python-uno-interface http://www.len.ro/work/python-uno-openoffice-automatization/ Now of course, you might find these examples too limited for what you are looking to do, I don't know. What I do know is that a valuable tool for object/method introspection is the MRI extension (written in python) that you can get here : http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/mri-uno-object-inspection-tool You could also look at some of the python scripts that are already part of the code base within the LibreOffice project : http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/pyuno/demo or the mailmerge.py script which is used from within LibreOffice to carry out mailmerge (more or less successfully, it has to be said). However, please file bug reports for LibreOffice in English language, if possible ;-) This is an international community, and we use English as collaboration language. Translating bug reports from foreign languages costs additional hours of work, which we would prefer to use for checking and confirming the bugs, and it may introduce errors (did I match the sense of your bug report, or ...?) In addition, we need to put this more precisely. Some questions: 1) Can you please specify which kinds of characters (ranges, or at least some examples) are allowed for names of anchors in HTML, but are not allowed in the names of bookmarks in LibreOffice? 2) I may miss something, but is it really obvious that LibreOffice (or any similar application) needs to support *all* characters for the names of bookmarks which are allowed in the names of anchors in HTML format? Of course, if LibreOffice was mainly an HTML editor, and was advertised as supporting all HTML features you can dream of, this would be very plausible, but right now I am not sure if this is really a *bug* in LibreOffice. (Where do we declare that we support all of these characters in bookmark names?) No offence! Question 1) is just necessary to understand the problem; please understand that we do not have the time to find out by trial and error what you mean ;-) And question 2) is not an attack on your report; I just want to clarify if this issue is really to be regarded as a *bug* in the strict sense of that word, or if we better turn this into an enhancement request: “Please allow ... characters in bookmark names”. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56289 --- Comment #8 from Marc Weber marco-owe...@gmx.de --- Alex: Its not a problem that libreoffice has to be used in different ways on different OS regarding python. The problem is that api.libreoffice.org doesn't tell you. And that was the first trustworthy page I was redirected to many times. I didn't ask for much developer time. Adding a Message box instead of graying out a button should not take much time. Mind this please. Because I am a software developer myself I only suggest what would provide greatest value in the shortest time possible. And that would also be using a wiki so that missing information can be added and improved easily. I'm new to the libre office project. So who is in charge for deciding whether a wiki may be established at libreoffice.org ? With some luck people may stumble upon your links on this bug report page - but I think there are ways to make sure that people who are interested in python libreoffice can't miss the links. Setting up a wiki (or pointing to a wikipedia wikibook) does not take too much time. If you think the right way to go is rewriting these topics on the dev mailinglist I'll do so. Thanks for the pointer. So I will subscribe to that mailinglist and point to this bug report and ask for advice - if nobody has time maybe I can provide a patch myself. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56391] New: Using old .sxw documents as templates causes segmentation fault
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56391 Priority: medium Bug ID: 56391 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Using old .sxw documents as templates causes segmentation fault Severity: major Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: rudolf.koll...@medas.de Hardware: x86 (IA32) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.5.6.2 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Hello, we have template directories where not only template files (.ott, .sxt) are stored, but normal text documents (.odt, .sxw) too. This is because some users find it more comfortable to create and edit normal documents than using the native template options. This documents are stored in a directory which is a template directory for other users (only read access). As of the history there are a lot of files from the old OpenOffice and therefore with the .sxw file extension. Now when a user browses this template directory by new-from templates and tries to access such a .sxw file (by clicking on it), LO immediately crashes with Sig11. This doesn't happen on on .odt nor on .sxT. There are currently two workarounds: 1) Open the .sxw file and store it as .odt, .ott or .sxt and delete the .sxw 2) Rename the .sxw manually to .sxt, .ott or .odt Fortunately LO seems to not care about when a .sxw is renamed to an .odt There seems to be a bug in the special handling when ordinary old text documents (.sxw) are opened for the preview pane in the create from template dialog. Doesn't matter if document properties or preview is selected. Sig11 happens both. This is valid for: LO from 3.5.x to 3.6.3 (and maybe above). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

However, please consider: what should we do with such a report? ;-) I am sorry to say so, but we can not do anything about this problem -- the description is just too vague, we can not even guess what is wrong here. What would really help is if you could please attach the original Microsoft Word 2007 document which shows the problems to this bug report (just come back to this page https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56372 and click on “Add an attachment”). It would be even more helpful if you could also attach some screenshots, one showing the document in MS Word 2007, another one showing it in LibreOffice. So we can *see* what the problem is, and using your MS Word 2007 document, we can try to find out the *reasons* of this behaviour. If you can not attach the original MS Word document, because it is confidential, you can try to “anonymize” it by making a copy of it, opening the copy in MS Word, and then replacing the text by some nonsense (e.g., just a series of xxx xxx xx, x xx xxx). If you can still observe the problem when you open this anonymized copy in LibreOffice, it will be sufficient for us, so please attach the copy.
