[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81272] Libreoffice Is Very Slow Rendering Chinese Characters (because of font fallback?)
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81272 --- Comment #6 from Matthew Francis fdb...@neosheffield.co.uk --- Poked at this a little with callgrind. There appear to be a number of villains in this case: 1) SwTxtFrm::CollectAutoCmplWrds Called from beneath SwLayIdle::DoIdleJob() Workaround: Disable Tools – Autocorrect Options... – Word Completion – Collect words 2) SwTxtFrm::_AutoSpell Called from beneath SwLayIdle::DoIdleJob() Workaround: Disable Tools – Automatic Spell Checking 3) SwTxtNode::CountWords Called from beneath SwLayIdle::DoIdleJob() Workaround: None found 4) SwTxtNode::CountWords Called from beneath DocumentStatisticsManager::IncrementalDocStatCalculate Workaround: None found Each of these spends a long time dissecting text using SwScanner. In addition, (3) and (4) appear to be counting the same words twice, which compounds the fact that it's a slow operation on a long paragraph. With all four disabled (commenting code out where necessary), editing the giant paragraph in the text document is merely slow rather than intolerable. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83414] Other: Error calculating time
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83414 --- Comment #10 from penttila pentt...@freemail.hu --- Sorry but something is not OK for me! I would like to add the following two time(!) values and get the result in such a format which also displays the number of days. 11:11:11 22:22:22 --- 33:33:33 (should be like 01:09:33:33) If I change the result cell format to custom 'DD:HH:MM:SS' the cell format category is automatically changed from 'time' to 'date' and the result is 31:09:33:33! This is the root of the problem, the cell category should always remain 'time' as I am working with time values and not with dates! The 'time' cell category itself should contain this required 'day-time' format (not date-time) which is missing at the moment. (May be it could be marked different from DD:HH:MM:SS.) Some other notes: 1) Comment #9 should not be relevant in this case as we are speaking about times and not dates! 2) Is this automatic cell category conversion feature OK? It leads to such dangerous situations! 3) I am not an expert of Calc but maybe there should be an error message/sign when the result doesn't fit in the specified HH:MM:SS format! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81659] Expand references when new columns/rows are inserted spoils SUM formula when row is inserted
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81659 --- Comment #4 from GerardF gerard.farg...@orange.fr --- (In reply to comment #3) There is obviously a change, but where is the bug or incorrect behavior? In the current version or in the previous? Best regards. JBF When inserting new row with Expand references enabled, References in formulae must be expanded if: + new row is adjacent to references + original reference contains at least 2 rows. Example 1: Formula =SUM(A2:B3)and insert row before row 2 make formula becomes =SUM(A2:B4) (there is 2 rows in the SUM range) Example 2: Formula =SUM(A2:B2)and insert row before row 2 make formula stay =SUM(A2:B2) (there is 1 row in the SUM range) Plus : this bug change also references when row inserted is *not* adjacent to the range. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a new spreadsheet 2. Enter some text in a cell 3. Enter some text in an adjacent cell and change it's font to something different then the original one 4. Select both cells and try to change the font by clicking on the font menu and scrolling down. Current behavior: During scrolling either with the mouse wheel or the slider, the view constantly jumps back to the top of the drop down menu. This makes selecting a font that is at the end of the list extremely hard. Expected behavior: Scrolling down a menu should not result in being automatically put beck to the top. When all the fonts in the selected cells are the same the scrolling behaves as expected. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83406 Michael Bauer f...@akerbeltz.org changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Resolution|DUPLICATE |--- --- Comment #6 from Michael Bauer f...@akerbeltz.org --- Yeah, every issue is urgent, of course. This is the first bug ever I've marked as urgent and yes, when small businesses consider the update process of a product so overly complicated they don't bother, it IS urgent I'd say. Unless we're making LO just for ourselves. Weren’t we talking about the update system? Michael, in future please resist the urge to cramp a bunch of unrelated issues into one report — be as specific as possible. This applies to any software project you report bugs for. ;-) Look, I know that life in general would be so much easier if we could break down everything into neat little boxes and deal with them calmly, one after the other. But with all due respect, it doesn't work like that. For the end user, the 'upgrade process' is one interconnected issue and the reason I referred to the user settings not being carried over was less of an attempt to file a bug for that issue but simply part of the narrative I got from the hotel in question who were complaining about the upgrade process. So I wasn't actually bunching bugs. Thirdly, the bug you refer to is specifically OSX whereas I'm talking cross-platform/Windows, so I'm not so sure it IS a duplicate, so I'm opening it again unless someone can reassure me that the solution you mentioned works for ALL OS. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81272 --- Comment #7 from Matthew Francis fdb...@neosheffield.co.uk --- For a paragraph with N continuous characters of Chinese text (e.g. N x 中), iterating over the paragraph with SwScanner will cause xdictionary::getWordBoundary() to be called N times, each of which will call xdictionary::seekSegment(), which will in turn iterate over each of the N characters - N^2 operations This needs refactoring so seekSegment() doesn't keep doing the same work over and over again For Chinese text, the path through from SwScanner to xdictionary goes like this: frame #1: 0x000110919243 libi18npoollo.dylib`com::sun::star::i18n::xdictionary::seekSegment(this=0x00010c08a000, rText=0x7fff5fbfa930, pos=1, segBoundary=0x00010c08a028) + 115 at xdictionary.cxx:280 frame #2: 0x0001109199dd libi18npoollo.dylib`com::sun::star::i18n::xdictionary::getWordBoundary(this=0x00010c08a000, rText=0x7fff5fbfa930, anyPos=1, wordType=3, bDirection=true) + 173 at xdictionary.cxx:412 frame #3: 0x0001109073e7 libi18npoollo.dylib`com::sun::star::i18n::BreakIterator_CJK::getWordBoundary(this=0x00011ff93ab8, text=0x7fff5fbfa930, anyPos=1, nLocale=0x0001206d7600, wordType=3, bDirection='\x01') + 119 at breakiterator_cjk.cxx:81 frame #4: 0x00011090753c libi18npoollo.dylib`non-virtual thunk to com::sun::star::i18n::BreakIterator_CJK::getWordBoundary(this=0x00011ff93ae0, text=0x7fff5fbfa930, anyPos=1, nLocale=0x0001206d7600, wordType=3, bDirection='\x01') + 92 at breakiterator_cjk.cxx:88 frame #5: 0x00011090e0e4 libi18npoollo.dylib`com::sun::star::i18n::BreakIteratorImpl::getWordBoundary(this=0x000117072b78, Text=0x7fff5fbfa930, nPos=1, rLocale=0x0001206d7600, rWordType=3, bDirection='\x01') + 612 at breakiteratorImpl.cxx:182 frame #6: 0x00011090e1dc libi18npoollo.dylib`non-virtual thunk to com::sun::star::i18n::BreakIteratorImpl::getWordBoundary(this=0x000117072ba0, Text=0x7fff5fbfa930, nPos=1, rLocale=0x0001206d7600, rWordType=3, bDirection='\x01') + 92 at breakiteratorImpl.cxx:186 frame #7: 0x0001184e85d0 libswlo.dylib`SwScanner::NextWord(this=0x7fff5fbfa918) + 1296 at txtedt.cxx:836 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

File/Page Preview now it is reasonable BUT needs to be Landscape so set that but then I see it is too narrow because it needs to be on 2 pages. OK back to set 2 pages - now preview looks reasonable. I can see what I want in the page preview (This says in the status line Page 1/2 - and Page 2 of 2) so I try an Export to PDF This now gives me 9 pages in total - it has output all 3 sheets to the format I want only for sheet 2 - that is not particularly satisfying. I have an alternative option in the Export to PDF - it is Pages - OK - I can tell it to export from what it thinks is page 2 because sheet 1 just happens to take up 1 page and print 2 pages (ie 23 which is my 1 2 on sheet 2). I accept that there may be a configuration setting somewhere to have the Export to PDF only work on the current sheet or even to enable the Print to PDF feature - but I haven't been able to find it! [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80650] lower case greek alphabet missing in localized Math symbol table
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80650 --- Comment #44 from Karel Hruska push...@email.cz --- Actually I don't think there should be any difference between fresh install and update/reinstall, at least on GNU/Linux. Since the bug is caused by broken symbol table for Math (e.g. smcs.res in CS locale), included in package libobasisX.Y-cs-math_X.Y.A.B-C_amd64.deb and installed in /opt/libreoffice4.3/program/resource, which is not a directory changeable by user, the behaviour should be the same in both cases (unless a user-defined symbol table exists in user's profile folder). Another proof of guilt of this file is its filesize. In version 4.2.5.2, which works good for me, its filesize is 63152 bytes (in package libobasis4.2-cs-math_4.2.5.2-2_amd64.deb). In version 4.3.0.4, which is the first broken, the filesize of smcs.res shrunk to 60716 bytes, and in 4.3.1.2 the filesize is the same. A funny thing is, that the conversion from lowercase greek letters to uppercase greek letters appears ONLY with broken symbol table. When I use older smcs.res file from LO 4.2.5.2, it does not appear. My suggestion is simply to compare smXX.res files from older locales of LO and if they are larger than current ones, there is a large probability, that this locale is currently buggy. Regards, Karel Hruska (In reply to comment #37) Do you have the problem with a fresh installation (uninstall first the current version) and a clean new user profile? Still no problem for me with LO 4.3.2.0.0+ build at home under Ubuntu 14.04 x86-64 with en-US and FR langpacks. Best regards. I'm not a developer, I'm a localizer. I don't know how exactly these things work but it did not seem far-fetched that adding a menu item to iOS would involve the same process as doing it for Android. I was just trying to save folk time by not having to deal with another bug but if we need to file different bugs for the same thing on iOS and Android then I will. The code for the two platforms is _completely_ separate, and hence a very different process for each -- it is unlikely that people with iOS skills would have the appropriate Android skills to do this (and even if this were the case, they wouldn't be developing both concurrently), and hence separate bug reports would be much more appropriate. Did you add also their lowercase names? Else, they will not be recognized in your formulas. Yes, I have added them in the sense that I: - clicked the edit... button in the Catalog window; - in the editing window I clicked on the lowercase Greek letter I wanted in the matrix showing all symbols; - then I modified its name in the first field in the lower half of the window, giving it the name it had in older releases; - for example, when you choose the lowercase sigma this fields shows Ux03C3, I replaced this text with sigma, then clicked on add the buttons on the lower right side of the window The same procedure was repeated manually for all other lowercase Greek letter missing, i.e. all those whose name does not begin with the prefix var (these are the only ones left in 4.3.1). This would have been annoying but doable if it resolved the issue while waiting for a fix; however the problem is that this manually created symbols caused the unwanted uppercase conversion when using the manually created symbols that I described. It looks as if there were an auto-check of formula code correctness, and this could not take into account symbols added by the user... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82044] Impress Remote does not work with LO 4.3.0.4 nor with master builds
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82044 Andrzej Hunt andr...@ahunt.org changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEEDINFO CC||andr...@ahunt.org Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #4 from Andrzej Hunt andr...@ahunt.org --- The Bluetooth Remote DOESN'T use the 'Slide Show -- Impress Remote' dialog. You need to ensure that at least one of the devices is discoverable, and then pair from the other (using OS utilities). Once they are paired you can connect without any further steps. Alternatively the app can do the pairing for you as long as you make the desktop (or laptop) discoverable using OS utilities, and then you should be able to select the device using the App. Could you confirm whether this works for you? (If you can't pair using the OS utilities then you have a problem that is independent of LibreOffice.) (This information is something that should probably be added to the dialog and app though.) ii bluetooth 5.21-2 all Bluetooth support ii libbluetooth3:i3865.21-2 i386 Library to use the BlueZ Linux Bluetooth stack ii python-bluez 0.20-1 i386 Python wrappers around BlueZ for rapid bluetooth development . Probably not to relevant, but looks like you have Bluez 5 (supported since 4.1.6, 4.2.4, and 4.3 onwards). It's still quite new and perhaps not the most reliable -- especially in combination with KDE (certainly in openSuse 13.1 with KDE 4, Bluez 5 is mostly unuseable). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
