spreadsheet showing the SUM bug on sheet 1, in cell E3.

For an imported XLSX spreadsheet (attached), we have the following cell values:

...   |  D  E
2 | 10 =D2 
3 | 15 =SUM(D3,E2)

Displayed value for E3 is 15.
Expected result: E3 is 25. 

The file was not created by me. As I understand it, it's a Google Docs
spreadsheet, which was either exported to XLSX or to LibreOffice and then XLSX.

For added fun: when trying to get a minimal example, I deleted sheet 2. The bug
disappeared then. (sheet 2 is a copy of sheet one with extra colors)

Some pixels in the text of the embedded SVG image is cut off on certain zoom
levels

When inserting an SVG-image containing text to Writer, some pixels from the
text is cut off from the display. Mainly few top pixel lines and pixels from
the last character. 

This bug is dependent on the zoom-level. On some zoom levels less of the text
is cut off than on others.

A certain combination of letters is also needed to trigger the bug. For example
combination of letters "ks" seems to often trigger the bug.

This does not happen when viewing  the image on other programs as Firefox, IE
and Inkscape.

Given that the problem has been happening since version 3.3, and is quite
serious when it occurs, it's disappointing that you're planning to resolve it
once again.  Are the stack backtraces not helpful?

Is it possible that the mouse input event stream is getting connected to
something weird?  or could you implement some sort of signal that could be sent
to LO to reset things so that you can at least reliably recover when it
happens?

Sounds reasonable.

FYI: Enhancements are almost entirely tackled by volunteers thus we give no ETA
as to when (or even if) the enhancement will ever be implemented. This is just
confirming that it's a valid request - not saying that it will ever be actually

Comparison of font design, showing difference between Japanese and Chinese font
for ideographic comma and fullstop


Comparison explains why punctuation compression perform badly for some font but
not the others. Ideographic comma and period in Japanese font are aligned
closer to the left. Removing the space at the right just make the next
character closer. For those in Chinese font, removing the space at the right
make remaining space unbalanced, sometimes crowd the symbol with next
character.

An example spreadsheet to use for duplication of the error

0) Download the attached example.ods.
0.5) Install nlpsolver if you haven't already.

1) Summon Solver.
2) Select $B$7 as your target cell.
3) Optimize the result to maximize that cell.
4) Select $B$6 as the cells to change.
5) If we solved now, we'd get the absolute maxima. We want a local maxima
instead, so add in two limiting conditions, one for $B$6 <= 2, and one for $B$6
=> 3.
6) Solve.
7) You can either wait out the 2000 iterations, or stop shortly after starting.
Either way, Solver will have arrived at the answer (Should say 2.90). It should
be noted that $B$6 will be (approximately) equal to $B$11, and $B$7 will be
(approximately) equal to $B$12. This is the answer we want.
8) After hitting OK, Solver will declare that "No solution was found." and
revert the two cells to what they were before Solving.

I don't know if this is an edge case on Solver, or the result of weirdness from
the NLP Solving plugin, but even if Solver couldn't be convinced that this is
the answer I want, it'd be nice to have the "No solution was found." box give
me the option to keep the answers, rather than reverting them with no recourse.
The answer can still be extracted (as you can see), but it requires typing
everything out manually outside of LibreOffice, which is a pain.

While I was proofreading a draft for a paper I notied a slowdown again (MSO DOC
97 file, some embedded graphics), and this time it was with libreoffice-bin
(the official binary for Linux in Gentoo v4.4.4.2) on an E-350 APU (somewhat
different HW but similar driver stack).
Here OpenGL was off, just use HW accel and anti aliasing = 1. (force OpenGL =
0)
The slowdown was quite hard.
Picture was from different authors (cooperative paper) and might haven been
embedded als OLE object (they all seem to use MSO...). 

I'll check on that one, also for my own documents on my travel laptop with the
E-350 if OpenGL 1 or 0 changes anything.

I reproduce with
LO 5.0.3.1 Build ID: fd8cfc22f7f58033351fcb8a83b92acbadb0749e
and Windows 7 Home.
and with 
LO 4.4.0.0.beta1 Build ID: 9af3d21234aa89dac653c0bd76648188cdeb683e.
LO 4.3.7.2 Build ID: 8a35821d8636a03b8bf4e15b48f59794652c68ba works.
Searching to use Replacemnt table, available in
Tools > Options > LibreOfffice > Fonts 
"Apply replacement table" and other settings like "Fonts", "Replace with" are
deleted once you push OK and cannot be used.
I set Status to NEW, Keywords to regression.

table sidebar content panel

I had created this mockup last year on redmine (
https://redmine.documentfoundation.org/boards/1/topics/121 ) for including a
table content panel in the sidebar Properties tab, so i'm including it here for
easy access.

Looking over the table properties/format dialog, the following options should
likely be included in the sidebar.

* width textbox
* spacing combobox with presets (available in wrap content panel)
* alignment drop down menu
* table and row split across pages/columns checkbox
* repeat heading checkbox and row textbox
* spacing to content combox with presets

There is enough functionality in table properties and management that a
discussion about whether it needs it own contextual sidebar tab should be had.

the erroneous white background color was caused the very serious bug 88295.

there is actually UI to modify the background color but only in 5.0, see:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/5.0#Impress_and_Draw

because this is new UI with new translation strings it cannot be backported to
4.4.

i've just found out that it also works to round-trip an affected ODP file
through LO 4.3, apparently that version didn't support the background color at
all yet so it makes everything transparent again.

so i think this is a duplicate of bug 88276

Hmm - my patch is just a fix for a linking problem on  Windows.

Now the range of

Includes the idle timer merge, which has introduced some repaint problems in
the past.

Actually LO consumes 100% CPU here, when opening the document. Running in
valgrind shows, that most of the time is spend in Calcs SpellTimerHdl, which is
scheduled with the REPAINT priority... and so races with GUI updates.

Will push a patch for master and 5.0 to lower the spell checkers prio.

The most recent version will not print red or table or graph lines. What I see
is, where red appears only a thin red line appears in the printed materials

CTRl+SHIFT+F9 corrects the problem indeed.
I am wondering why LO would ever show wrong values though - this happens with
that file opened freshly.

Anyway, if you guys don't think displaying the wrong values is a bug, I'm happy

I am getting the same.  LibeOffice 5.0.2.2 from Debian.

Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Print, PDF as standard print job format is off.

File > Print > Options > Print to file

Device is a PostScript printer, properties show Printer language type:
Automatic PostScript (Level from driver)

I click print to file and the only format I can print out in is pdf.

options for convenience. 
No mensuration units specified with linespacing options just %.

Hi @hugo, thanks for reporting.

Two ways.

Enable recalculation on load xlsx files:
Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice calc/Formula/Recalculation on file load.
Always or Prompt or Never for select.

Doing a hard recalculation, which forces to recalculate all formulas.
[Ctrl+Shift+F9]

On other case only modifications from precedent range(s) are calculated.

But IMO not a bug. Please if you are not agree reopen it.

with the gd UI on Win8. I have installed the gd spellechecker and the en-GB
spellchecker (I also selected en-GB and gd-GB as available UI languages during
install) but when I attempt to change the language of a document (entire,
paragraf - any part of it) it offers me gd (selected by default which is
correct) and Welsh for some arcane reason.

I have noticed (but not reported) erratic behaviour in this section before, I
do not know where LO pulls the languages it offers from, I certainly have
nothing either in Windows or LO which has anything with Welsh in it. So not
sure why I'm offered Welsh and Gaelic but not en-GB.

To my mind, this feature is not user friendly overall - it seems to assume that
there is a dictionary for every language a user might be working in. What if
there isn't, say if I'm editing in ktz-NA? I can switch off the spell/grammar
checking but it will still tell me it's a document in English or Russian or
whatever my default language is. There ought to be a "Other" or "Set ISO
manually" selector by default in that menu.

The two 3D transitions in Impress that display shadows of the slides position
these wrongly when the monitor is in portrait orientation. In "Rochade", only
one shadow is visible, and much too low. In "Turn around", no shadow is visible
at all. Noticed on Windows, but might well happen on other platforms, too.

Could you attach a sample document this is happening with?

No such perf problems anymore. 1 sec delay tops when manipulating chart. If you

This was never confirmed.

Is this still a problem?

I don't know, how to insert a cross-reference referencing a user field. I
tried, but failed.

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists and provide step by step
instructions for reproducing. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem
went away.

Ok, I tested with Precios_Actuales Good Before.xls.
Saving it and reloading does not give the result observed in Precios_Actuales
Error.xls

The file Costos US Before Fail.xls says:

The following external file could not be loaded. Data linked from this file did
not get updated.

file:///C:/Mis Documentos/COSTOS/Maestro de Precios.xls

So I don't want to comment on that.

Please don't misunderstand me, understanding how you like.

The option for ALWAYS update calculations when opening the file is there, and
it's very useful to avoid a long time calculations, sometimes several minutes,
so disable it for people with large spreadsheets it's fine.

If you have it disable, then no calculations are done, up you enter a value in
a cell, but the Autocalculate [F9], only calculate dependencies of the modified
cell(s).
For recalculate all is the hard recalc.

Looking inside your file it's has 15, wrong value saved for E3.

In Writer 5.1, the menu item "Indexes and Tables" has been renamed to "Indexes
and Tables of Contents". However, the corresponding submenu name "Indexes and
Tables" has been changed to "Table of Contents and Index" which:
- does not correspond with the submenu item,
- mixes up singular and plural.

Checked in 5.1 alpha 1.

This is a regression - I have a virtual machine with XFCE and none of these
thing occur in LO 4.

This is a question, not a criticism (yet): this is the first time I am working
with a beta. I am astonished at the number of regression issues (I know they
are because none of the many problems occur in LO4 - and I work on the same
documents in that when I just cannot get something to work properly in LO5). 

It is almost as if some other version was being used as the base and not LO4.

For example, where does the OO save dialog come from? 

Does this always happen when major version revisions are being worked on? 
LO5 Impress is definitely not in a state where it can be released.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
I am editing a slide with 2 "boxes". When I click on RHS box, the LHS box
disappears.
Cannot get it back.
Change to single single box layout and it reappears.
Change back to 2 box layout, disappears again.
Edit text in 1 box layout, and then change back to 2-box layou.
Text is now visible.

I've tried to reproduce the bug. Seems to be that this is not a problem,
because Impress is aimed at presentations, so line spacings while having
Upper-case symbols tend to be "normal".

You can see my file. I received the described problem only for Upper-case
symbols, for Lower-case ones -- nope. For me it's okay.

But on slide #2 & #4 I received another problem: when exporting from Writer the
upper-case symbols become...middle-case :)

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today or with LO Debian package
5.0.2, I don't reproduce this. Perhaps a Windows only bug?

O.K., I've done some tests.

It seems to be the fact that it doesn't reproduce on my clients (Linux/MacOSX)

I've checked versions:

-- 4.4.3.2
-- 4.4.5.2
-- 5.1.0.0-alpha.

The "problem" with lower-case symbols "exist", but this is not a bug. It's a
way to emphasize the lower-case symbols. So a bit of spacing will be made.

I advice you to clear the formatting style of Writer and then export to
Impress.

There was a problem that AA wasn't enabled when rasterizing the SVG (or more
precise - the drawinglayer Primitive2D shape) but this was resolved some time
in the past as I can't reproduce it anymore.

This bug was just a reminder to me to look into this issue.. but forgot about
it :)

It seems that we need some info and more facts from your message.

At this point, I think you're talking about the possibility to print in
greyscale mode if you want to see pseudo-colored content.

Not depending on OS, you should contact your printer setting and turn off
"Color" output mode to "High quality Grayscale" or something like that (in
phrase).

Otherwise, it is not clear in your problem.

After adding more text, please feel free to change status of the ticket to
"UNCONFIMED"
