[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116934] New: Can't select bullet character after filtering list

2018-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116934

Bug ID: 116934
   Summary: Can't select bullet character after filtering list
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: khanson...@gmail.com

When creating a bulleted list (or list style), you can select the character for
each list level from the customize tab -> character -> select. This opens the
Special Characters dialog, which was recently redesigned with a text filter
function. The box is called "search".

Problem: If I filter before selecting a character, then click "OK", nothing
happens.

For an example, enter "check" into the search box, then select U+2611 BALLOT
BOX WITH CHECK. As far as I can tell, the actual character selected makes no
difference. Same for the font.

If I scroll through the list and select the character, it works as expected.
Furthermore, in the case where the dialog is accessed from Insert -> Special
Character, both methods work as expected.

Hey no need for vulgarity--keep it clean please!

We still will need the OOXML .docx from Word 2013--though you can save from
Word to ODF formats--let MS do the formula conversion to ODF MathML. Might do a
better job than LibreOffice's import.

Otherwise, here is the StarMath ML for the example formula (note the syntax for
the chemical formulas...

ml of solution left({1L} over {1000ml} right) left({mol~ of Solute} over {1L}
right) left ( {1mol H_2 PO_4^{-{}}} over {1mol` solute} right ) = mol~ H_2
PO_4^{-{}}

Use empty quotes "", or empty braces {} as placeholders for layout, and the
space characters grave `, or tilde ~ to adjust spacing.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116899] Fly-in animation doesn' t play after roundtripping from LO through PP (PPT format)

--- Comment #3 from Aron Budea  ---
The problem is with the unusual key times.

Dumping animation data gives the following:
- good:
...

...

- bad:
...

...

Animations only permit key times in the range of [0, 1], and the first entry
has to be 0.
Solution: if the key times are outside the range, normalize key times during
import, at least both for PPT and PPTX formats.

Note: in OOXML format the key times are stored in element 'tav'.

I was having the problem with Win7 al LO, upgrade my pc to sata and Windows 8.1
and get the same problem: the 2015 c++ runtime fail to run the x86 msu included
in the  runtime.
The solution was update Windows 8.1 to the requisites of the 2015 c++ runtime(
agust 201 rollup update?) then can install the c++ runtime and get working
LibreOffice.
One alternative was download LibreOffice portable and copy the missing files to
the main LibreOfiice

--- Comment #3 from QA Administrators  ---
** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116932] New: Equations created in MS Word 2013 have inverted red question marks when docx file opened in Libre Writer

2018-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116932

Bug ID: 116932
   Summary: Equations created in MS Word 2013 have inverted red
question marks when docx file opened in Libre Writer
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Formula Editor
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rm3.scra...@gmail.com

Description:
Certain equations created in MS Word 2013 have inverted red question marks when
the docx file is opened in Libre Writer.

Steps to Reproduce:
I created an equation in ms word, and when I open the document in libre, the
formula is missing a part and a red inverted question mark is there in its
place. when checking the equation in the equation editor, it gives me this:

ml of solution left ({1L} over {1000ml} right ) left ({mol of Solute } over
{1L} right ) left ({1mol  {H} rsub {2} {PO} rsub {4} rsup {-}  } over {1mol
solute} right ) =mol  {H} rsub {2} {PO} rsub {4} rsup {-}

Actual Results:
the equation doesn't display right, and if I try to save it in .docx format
when it looks like this, it just deletes the part of the equation that doesn't
display properly, instead of saving it.

Expected Results:
the equation should display exactly the same as it does in word.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
SEE " https : // imgur . com /a/p1IcK " FOR A COMPARISON BETWEEN WORD AND LIBRE

its a minor bug but it is causing me a lot of stress and I am not going to suck
microsoft's dick any harder than I have to. I'm not paying for a personal copy
of word, and all my university's computers are locked down so I cant install
libre there.

shapes: don't use "GraphicURL" property, always use "Graphic"
With GraphicURL property on shapes (XShape) we transported the
external or internal URL to the model, which also included the
GraphicObject uniqueID style URLs. This changes that - now we
always use "Graphic" property and transfer XGraphic to and from
graphic filters. "Graphic" property is already present for XShape
so it wasn't needed to add it.

Filters changed are: OOXML (oox), ODF (xmloff), RTF and
binary MS (esherex).

Also start using originURL on Graphic which now transports the
URL of the external (linked) graphic/image if it was created that
way.

Try to install Zotero (https://www.zotero.org/) additionally next to Mendeley.
Maybe the conflict happens if both is active and you disable Mendeley.

Thank you Stang for your feedback, so the pb is when one's tries to copy a
table with decimal/numeric from a database X to a database Y (X different from
Y)
Alex: so why did you mention Calc?

I created a table on a brand new file with embedded hsqldb
id integer, testnum numeric, testdec decimal
and filled 2 lines:
1, 1, 1
2, 2, 2

Then I tried to copy the table on a brand new Firebird embedded file and indeed
got an error:
Incorrect type for setString

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116931] New: Rotated Objects Anchored "To Cell, Resize with Cell", Move and Scale when Cell's Position is Changed

2018-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116931

Bug ID: 116931
   Summary: Rotated Objects Anchored "To Cell, Resize with Cell",
Move and Scale when Cell's Position is Changed
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: lukebe...@hotmail.com

Steps to reproduce.
1. In Calc, expand the height of B2 to make room for an image or shape
2. Insert a shape or image in B2
3. Set Anchor "To Cell, Resize with Cell"
4. right click -> Position and Size -> rotate by 45 deg.
5. Re-center the object in the cell. Confirm still anchored to B2.
6. Move B2's position by shrinking/expanding Column A or Row 1

Expected behavior
1. The Object says centered in its new location

Actual behavior
1. The Object moves and scales

Note: if you anchor instead "To Cell", the rotated object behaves as expected.

Somewhat related... can not set an internal hyperlink to another worksheet that
has a name like (without quotes):

"1"
"T1"

eg, ctrl-k, insert > document..

However, I found if I changed sheet name, eg from "T1" to "@1", then internal
link to worksheet works ok.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116930] New: Calc crashes when scrolling in a worksheet containing a Chart object

2018-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116930

Bug ID: 116930
   Summary: Calc crashes when scrolling in a worksheet containing
a Chart object
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stevej...@hotmail.co.uk

Description:
I have a chart object produced from a range of cells within the same sheet,
when I move a chart up and down in the sheet causing the vertical scrollbar to
scroll up and down 3 or 4 times or leaving the chart in a static position and
using the vertical scrollbar moving up and down so the chart is almost out of
view and so it has to redraw both of these scenarios cause Calc to crash. The
crash can be reproduced without fail. I opened the same sheet in Excel and
could not reproduce the problem.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Pick up the chart using the left mouse and keeping it pressed move it
across to the vertical scroll bar so that the right edge of the Chart is
overlapping the vertical scrollbar, move the the chart up and down so it causes
the sheet and vertical scrollbar to move up and down 3 or 4 times or until Calc
crashes.
And/Or
2. With a chart in a sheet just keep moving the vertical scrollbar up and down
with the mouse, so that the chart goes almost out of view, for me it crashes
after the 3rd or 4th time if you do it rapidly it happens sooner.

Actual Results:
Calc crashes and I get the following pop up message with the option to Close
Program.

A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close
the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Expected Results:
No crash

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

I tested this and it indeed worked!
I updated the patch (code + comment) on gerrit as you may have seen.

Ah, well spotted. The menu "View > Text Boundaries" shows the relevant area. So
"Keep inside text boundaries" sounds appropriate.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116890] Firebird: empty columns gone with prepared statement

> I got "CONSTANT" several times for both cases.

This means the difference is in LibreOffice, and it is LibreOffice that adds
the "1", "2", "3", etc to duplicate names. The case "ccols =
oPrepStatement.Columns" is done in
dbaccess/source/core/api/preparedstatement.cxx function
OPreparedStatement::getColumns, there one sees:

for (sal_Int32 i = 0, nCount = xMetaData->getColumnCount(); i < nCount; ++i)
{
// retrieve the name of the column
OUString aName = xMetaData->getColumnName(i + 1);
OResultColumn* pColumn = new OResultColumn(xMetaData, i + 1, xDBMeta);
m_pColumns->append(aName, pColumn);
}

That's the problematic bit of code. It needs to be changed to add "1", "2", etc
to duplicate names.

The "ccols = oResult.Columns" case is probably handled in file resultset.cxx in
the same directory, function OResultSet::getColumns(); there we see:

for ( sal_Int32 i = 0; i < nColCount; ++i)
{
// retrieve the name of the column
OUString sName = xMetaData->getColumnName(i + 1);
ODataColumn* pColumn = new ODataColumn(xMetaData, m_xDelegatorRow,
m_xDelegatorRowUpdate, i + 1, xDBMetaData);

// don't silently assume that the name is unique - result set
implementations
// are allowed to return duplicate names, but we are required to have
// unique column names
if ( m_pColumns->hasByName( sName ) )
sName = ::dbtools::createUniqueName( m_pColumns.get(), sName );

m_pColumns->append( sName, pColumn );
}

The two lines
if ( m_pColumns->hasByName( sName ) )
sName = ::dbtools::createUniqueName( m_pColumns.get(), sName );
seem to be exactly what needs to be added to OPreparedStatement::getColumns

Thorsten said at some point it's possible to rework the hard-coded key
assignments. Was an idea for GSoC (#6 at
https://pad.documentfoundation.org/p/UX-GSoC_Ideas) but since no mentor was
interested and students apparently looked at the official list only we don't
have one yet.

Whether this ticket remains unconfirmed or should become new is up to you.
Right now it's a wontfix but from UX POV it's very recommended to change.

Hi Michal,
Glad to hear you want to help.
Here you can see how to build LibreOffice for mac ->
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/BuildingOnMac
then you just need to create the patch and submit it to gerrit as explained
here:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/gerrit
For help, you can use the dev IRC channel:
https://irc.documentfoundation.org/?settings=#libreoffice-dev
I hope it helps...

set new document window as parent for dialogs during load
and exit typedetection early and completely if application quits
while detecting

During typedetection, before loading proper, we have the hidden window as
parent so warnings are not modal to existing windows and they are cancelled on
exit.

Once we do have a window, then reinit interaction handler to have that window
as the parent for any further dialogs.

yes, with

works fine

if you try to import
abc;''abc'';abc;
2 single apex, with ' as delimiter

and copy cells from Calc to notepad you get

abc "'abc';abc;
"

look like if it finds 2 delimiters it surrounds all subsequent text with "

After testing a bit, IMO the Sifr is really readable for me (I'm
visual-impaired). As we'll only change the default, it's not a big issue for a
user wanting to come back to High Contrast theme if he prefers.

99% of visual-impaired users I train LibreOffice don't customize the theme,
they only use the reverse color (negative) feature of their screen magnifier
software (ZoomText on Windows, Compiz/EZoom or GNOME Zoom on GNU/Linux for
example) to improve the contrast.

Best regards,
Alex.

--- Comment #2 from V Stuart Foote  ---
This was incorrectly reported by OP in Redmine as issue #2523 [1] which should
be closed (it is not an infrastructure or release engineering issue).

Commonly error 2502/2503 issues are a NTFS file system permissions issue on
Windows--and is not going to be the .msi packaging of LibreOffice.

Simply LibreOffice should be installed as Administrator on Windows builds to
assure needed registry entries are made.

Several ways to elevate the Windows shell...

Probably the easiest: from Task Manager -> Kill Explorer.exe; from Task Manager
-> File "Create New Task" Explorer.exe, check "Create this task with
administrative privileges"

alternatively a Windows registry edit in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Msi.Package to add
an entry to "Run as Administrator" and avoid any FS permission issue.

Another way is to run Command Prompt/Powershell as Admin (from Win+X menu) and
then do command line install "msiexec.exe /i LibreOffice_6.0.3.2_Win_x64.msi"

And--if that still fails with 2502/2503 errors--check the existence and
permissions for C:\Windows\Temp folder, the Administrators group should have
FULL control of it.

We have some mentions of HSQL in the helpcontent:

https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/search?project=help=hsql=

Now, with this option removed from master[1], these need to be updated,
documenting the new default Firebird engine, and possibly any effects on
existing files, incompatibility between older/newer versions of LO etc.

Tamas, do you have any hints about what should be documented here? What does a
user see from this change?
