From another thread, which I'm putting here instead (apologies for hijacking
the other one)...

# dsu
DELL EMC System Update 1.7.0
Copyright (C) 2014 DELL EMC Proprietary.
Do you want to import public key(s) on the system (Y/N)? : y
Unable to read public file /usr/libexec/dell_dup/0x756ba70b1019ced6.asc
Exiting DSU!
# ls /usr/libexec/dell_dup/0x756ba70b1019ced6.asc
ls: cannot access /usr/libexec/dell_dup/0x756ba70b1019ced6.asc: No such file or
directory

As a solution I had to go to https://linux.dell.com/files/pgp_pubkeys/ and put
all three .asc files there into /usr/libexec/dell_dup/ (which did exist, and
had content) by hand before dsu would run. What package is responsible for
adding these files?

Normally I do the following when upgrading OMSA/dsu as it's always a vanilla
install, and there's never been a reason to try and reconcile the .rpmnew files
brought in by an upgrade:

/opt/dell/srvadmin/sbin/srvadmin-services.sh stop
yes | /opt/dell/srvadmin/sbin/srvadmin-uninstall.sh
rm -rf /opt/dell/srvadmin/
yum install srvadmin-storageservices srvadmin-omcommon -y
/opt/dell/srvadmin/sbin/srvadmin-services.sh start
yum update dell* -y

We rsync the dell repo and do this ourselves by having another
repo that the servers use. Curating and maintaining it is a
pain, though.

[Linux-PowerEdge] no storage controllers detected

2018-04-04 Thread Gregory Matthews
what is the fix or workaround for "No storage controllers detected" in
openmanage?

I have a number of R610 servers with the following controller:

03:00.0 SCSI storage controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1068E
PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS (rev 08)

Subsystem: Dell SAS 6/iR Integrated RAID Controller
which I take to be a PERC6i

I (reluctantly) tried the binary patch proposed here:

http://lists.us.dell.com/pipermail/linux-poweredge/2015-May/049784.html

but this didn't in fact work.

I'm running OM 9.1.0 on rhel6.9, bios 6.4.0

thanks

We are planning to see how can we sync up the DSU and the catalog releases,
this will take time, be rest assured we are doing our best to keep these up to
date.

Thanks,
Kalyan.

One wonders about the lack of joined-uppedness at Dell in this area. Someone would gain serious
kudos (and probably a pay rise) for creating a one-click "update web site and DSU (and
whatever else)" publication system. This "well it's there, but it's not here, and
there's an older version there, and it's there for Windows, but not for Linux" situation
really doesn't look terribly professional. Or helpful for those of us with a varied server estate.
If there are multiple teams/groups responsible for getting things to us, maybe there needs to be a
steering committee or something which coordinates them all.

Dell FTP site is not updated either.

The Lifecycle Controller of an R620 did not "see" BIOS update 2.6.1 today.
