Re: math-macro in preamble?
Problem is that if I open this lyx document alone (with no lyx files that use math-macros currently open), then the macros will not convert to what they're supposed to look like.. they'll show up in ERT... is there a workaround to this? (I'm currently making sure that I open MathMacros.lyx before I open any of the other files.. hope there's some neater way of doing this). What about a wrapper my_lyx: #!/bin/sh lyx MathMacros.lyx $1 Then my_lyx foo.lyx will load both files. -- Jean-Pierre

lyx-1.3.4 rpm--compile on mandrake, 64bit AMD
The configuration fails. Run: ./configure --with-frontend=qt --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib64 This fails with an error searching for the moc binary. The moc binary is in the /usr/lib/qt3 tree, but the qt libraries are in /usr/lib64. I can create a symbolic link (and that is my inclination) from the qt3/lib director to select (*.a) or to all in the real location, but prefer not to mess with library structures I don't fully grok. I have compiled 1.3.4 successfully on a RH athlon system, with only configure flags. I can solve this, but if some guru has already, please share. prevent image conversion .lyx - .html by l2h
Hello, I have got latex2html 2002-2-1 (1.71) up and running together with lyx 1.3.3 (native qt version under windows XP). I have some photos in .jpg format that I'd rather keep in that format for the html version of my document. But l2h converts it to .gif or .png (depending on the settings l2hconf.pm). To test it I made a small document in which I have been trying to add some latex commands in ERT before and within a figure float ass follows (see also the attached figure): ERT: \htmladdimg{rose.jpg} --- |Start Figure float ERT: %begin{latexonly} lyx graphics include ERT: %end{latexonlyl} Figure#: figure caption. End Figure Float| - This seem to do the trick but it would take rather long time to go through a larger document and add all the necessary extra ERT. Is there another way of forcing l2h not to convert latex created eps files and directly use the jpg file in the Lyx graphics include? Thanks jorgen inline: LyxRose.gif

prettyref.sty not found
Dear All My tetex distribution does not have prettyref.sty. I have meanwhile got that file but I do not know where I should put it. Re: lyx-1.3.4 rpm
Nirmal, I think the problem is the lyx.spec has a dependency on qt, while mandrake provides qt3. I think that you could/should replce in lyx.spec the line %define frontdep qt = 2.2.1 with something like %define frontdep qt3 = 3.1.0 Thanks JMarc.. I made the change above and uploaded the new rpm to www.personal.psu.edu/nug107/lyx .. can you please trasnfer it to ftp.lyx.org? My apologies to those who've had to do the --nodeps... hopefully it should be OK now.. nirmal

The moc binary is in the /usr/lib/qt3 tree, but the qt libraries are in /usr/lib64. I can create a symbolic link (and that is my inclination) You may want to check the help for the configure script.. there's an option to specify the qt libraries directory separately.. from the qt3/lib director to select (*.a) or to all in the real location, but prefer not to mess with library structures I don't fully grok. I would think that a symbolic link from /usr/lib/qt3/lib to /usr/lib64 wouldn't hurt (since it's symbolic)... nirmal

Problem is that if I open this lyx document alone (with no lyx files that use math-macros currently open), then the macros will not convert to what they're supposed to look like.. they'll show up in ERT... is there a workaround to this? (I'm currently making sure that I open MathMacros.lyx before I open any of the other files.. hope there's some neater way of doing this). lyx-1.3.4-Qt Slackware-9.1 package
I am putting a Slackware-9.1 package for lyx-1.3.4 with the Qt front end on the ftp server (in the incoming/ directory). The transfer speed is terribly low, but it _should_ be there in about 10 minutes. The executable is installed in /usr/local/bin. If you have lyx-1.3.3 installed in /usr/bin, remove that or invoke the new version from the proper directory. Rich -- Dr. Richard B. Shepard, President Applied Ecosystem Services, Inc. prevent image conversion .lyx - .html by l2h

Some people told me that I should put it inside my home directory, under the texmf directory. I have done it, but LyX does not go there to fetch the sty file. How can I overcome this problem? Re: lyx-1.3.4 rpm
Nirmal, I think the problem is the lyx.spec has a dependency on qt, while mandrake provides qt3. I think that you could/should replce in lyx.spec the line %define frontdep qt = 2.2.1 with something like %define frontdep qt3 = 3.1.0 Thanks JMarc.. I made the change above and uploaded the new rpm to www.personal.psu.edu/nug107/lyx .. can you please trasnfer it to ftp.lyx.org? My apologies to those who've had to do the --nodeps... hopefully it should be OK now.. nirmal

Second, as root, run 'texhash' so the new style file is made visible to the application. Third, as a user, go to the Edit menu and click on 'reconfigure'. Shut down lyx and re-invoke it. Create a local dir under texmf/tex/latex put there anything you import and run texhash. TeXLive comes out with a texmf-local ready-made tree, you may also reproduce this, but you must edit texmf.cnf (and maybe texhash or makelsr). -- Jean-Pierre
