Yes. I have lyx 2.3.0 loaded. Lyx 2.3.2 is in the Debian Testing
Repository. When I try to update to lyx 2.3.2 it affects about 40+
other programs, so I think I will wait for a while. I understand
Debian is coming out with a later version (I use stretch) in a couple
of months.

Now that I know your double-space/single-space/double-space trick, the
wait will be more than bearable.

John

When strange things happen in LaTeX output, I usually find it helpful to
do the View > Code Preview Pane (might have had a different name in
2.3.0) trick, setting the format to LaTeX rather than LyX, in the hope
of seeing something anomalous or interesting.

Good luck,

The problem is that the source dir '/home/dolfi/Downloads/lyx-2.3.2' is already
contaminated with previous calls
to cmake.
Unfortunately cmake gets its information from the previous call.
The cleanes way I suggest:
1.) Remove content of  '/home/dolfi/Downloads/lyx-2.3.2'
2.) Rebuild it from the tar file
3.) cd mynewbuilddir
4.) proceed with cmake

Kornel

P.S. The posted output of cmake looks good otherwise.

OK,

The *font* must not be confused with the LaTeX *input*
encoding (encoding of the *.tex source file).

The font encoding uses special names, valid values are "T1", "OT1", ...
(see `texdoc fontenc`).

The encoding for Unicode-fonts (with Xe/LuaTeX and the "fontspec" package is
"TU" (earlier versions used "EU1" and "EU2"). But this is not used by LyX.

However, this setting is a legacy from the LyX change of the legacy OT1
encoding to the still old T1 and should be best left unchanged.

You may set the font encoding in special cases per document with
Document>Settings>Font.

and this works with the current document.

Does this document use "non-TeX fonts"? Then the "default_fontenc" setting
is ignored.

no, it does not. I have therefore marked this now.

With an old document from 2009
i get with the same setting this error:! Package fontenc Error: Encoding
file `utf8enc.def'
not found.
(fontenc) You might have misspelt the name of the encoding.

You did.

See the fontenc package documentation for explanation.

Günter

Thanks, Günter for clarifying this. With the change (see above) and T1
it works now.

Good! Wolfgang

configure should create following files:
lyxrc.defaults
preferences
bbxFiles.lst  cbxFiles.lstlyxmodules.lst  textclass.lst
bibFiles.lst  clsFiles.lstpackages.lstxtemplates.lst
bstFiles.lst  lyxciteengines.lst  styFiles.lst

The log-output shows:
WARNING: Failed to find tex2lyx on your system.
This means, that your PATH is not set correctly. 'tex2lyx.exe' is part of lyx,
should be in the same dir as 'lyx.exe'.

DEBUG: Failed to remove file chklatex.log
this repeats for all .lst file ...
which from my POV shows, that you don't have the privilege to write into the
user dir.

Re: configuration fails

2019-03-07 Thread Kees Zeelenberg
In my experience these configuration failures occur either when one of
LyX and MikTeX (or TeXLive) has been installed as administrator and the
other as ordinary user, or when one is installed under Windows and the
other under another OS. Since Cygwin acts in some ways as an OS, in
particular in its use of Unix-type file paths, this may indeed be the
cause of your problems.

However, for using LyX, there is no need to install Cywgin. The normal
Windows LyX with Windows MikTeX or TeXLive is sufficient. You do not
need to uninstall Cygwin, just install either Windows LyX with Windows
MikTeX or TeXLive, or Cygwin LyX with Cywgin TeXLive.

Cheers,

Kees

I am sorry for the confusion.
none of the files exist on the computer.
Anyway. I do not think that it is the issue.
It seems that the py file terminates normally.
Is checkTeXPaths  executed?

is it because the statement is false?
if os.name == 'nt' or sys.platform == 'cygwin':
why test only nt and cygwin ?
cygwin is not installed, it does not seems that we need cygwin for lyx.
Could you confirm it?
checkOtherEntries does not provide any information
lyx_kpsewhich may be not set to true
I will check about
    checkModulesConfig()
    checkCiteEnginesConfig()

One possibility is that this is some kind of file-locking issue. We've

You still have a right parenthesis, as opposed to right brace, after "de
Boer".

You are correct. They should be braces.

Thank  you I will correct.

Are you sure, the parentheses are as shown? I’d say the first closing one is
wrong.

BibLatex references with de, von etc

2019-03-07 Thread F M Salter

I am using lyx 2.3.2 on debian stretch.

    I am finding different outputs for two cases

    The references are correct for both showinig the von and the de.

UTF8 error

2019-03-07 Thread Wolfgang Engelmann

I use under tools>preferences>output>latex>font coding UTF8

and this works with the current document. With an old document from 2009
i get with the same setting this error:! Package fontenc Error: Encoding
file `utf8enc.def'

not found.

(fontenc) You might have misspelt the name of the encoding.

See the fontenc package documentation for explanation.

Type H  for immediate help.

l.104 \ProcessOptions*

Necessary code for this encoding was not loaded.

Thus calling the encoding later on will produce further error messages.

! LaTeX Error: Encoding scheme `UTF8' unknown.

What is wrong?

Re: A Question about LyX layout files (with a MWE)

a MWE:

My Class file (myclassBE.cls) is as follows:

\NeedsTeXFormat{LaTeX2e}
\ProvidesClass{myclassBE, article}[2019/03/01 Test LaTeX Class]

\LoadClass[12pt, a4paper]{article}

\newenvironment{keywords}{{\bfseries KEYWORDS:} }{\vspace{1em}}

As can be seen, I have defined a custom environment: keywords. I have installed
this file to my LaTeX system (Win10, MikTeX) successfully and tested with a
very simple LaTeX file.

My layout file (myclassBE.layout) is:

#% Do not delete the line below; configure depends on this
#  \DeclareLaTeXClass[myclassBE]{My Test Class BE}
#  \DeclareCategory{Articles}

Format 66
Input stdclass.inc
Input numarticle.inc

# Input general definitions
Input article.layout

Style KeywordsBE
MarginDynamic
Category  FrontMatter
LabelString   "KEYWORDS: "
LabelType Static
LatexType Enviroment
LatexName keywords
LabelFont
  Series  Bold
  Sizenormalsize
  Color   green
EndFont
End

LyX recognizes the new layout and the new "KeywordsBE" environment successfully:

[cid:part1.66A506FB.6702A0D5@hotmail.com]

But it does not generate the LaTeX code for the keywords environment:

% Preview source code

%% LyX 2.3.1-1 created this file. For more info, see http://www.lyx.org/.

%% Do not edit unless you really know what you are doing.

\documentclass[english]{myclassBE}

\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}

\usepackage[latin9]{inputenc}

\usepackage{babel}

\begin{document}

Keyword1, Keyword2

\end{document}

Which should have used the following:

\begin{keywords}
Keyword1, Keyword2
\end{keywords}

What am I missing?

Answering my own question:

Missing "n" in the "LatexType Enviroment". Should have been Environment. Also
class definition should have been: ProvidesClass{myclassBE}.
