Re: Control key

2020-09-30 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Not directly, but you can assign any VoiceOver ey to keyboard commander keys
that are usually associated with the right option key. There is also the
trackpad commander where you can assign keys to modifier keys and trackpad
gestures.

Not quite out yet, and there are currently some serious VoiceOver issues in the

Re: Saving passwords on my Mac

2020-09-30 Thread 'Jason White' via MacVisionaries
The point of the automatically generated strong passwords is that they're
filled in for you by the browser, so you don't have to type them yourself.

You can look up the passwords under Safari Preferences, where there is an
option to display the password associated with a given Web site.

On 9/30/20, 03:49, "Lorie McCloud" wrote:

I'm not sure about that. what usually happens in Safari for me is that I'm
asked if I want to save this password in Safari and then there are options for
save, not now and don't save or something like that. you just hit vo-space for
your choice. but maybe you have to have some setting a certain way for that to
happen. I'm not sure about that. it might be passwords in the Safari menu. mine
even makes up strong passwords for me which I never use because I don't know
how to read them.

not only that but I discovered that if I deactivate touch id for anything such

Another thought on the ssd fixing a slow macmini.

The operating system had to be reinstalled too. Perhaps that was the source of
the fix.

An apple store will do that for free, or at least my local one does. You could
do it yourself using the recovery method or download approach..

2020-09-30 Thread dan d.

This raises a question, what does slow mean? Is it slow in loading apps. and
otherwise responding or is it slow to bootup ?

A ssd isn't going to make a difference to any large degree with usual app.
functionality.

I have a macmini the same model as your's. The harddrive went bad and I
installled a ssd. Booting is very fast, other functions only
marginally so.

Control key

2020-09-30 Thread Nebojsa Tasic

Hi everybody!

There is not the numeric keypad on my laptop, and there is not the right
Controll key. So, it is hard to press some key combinations, for example
Control+Options+Command+Shift+A.

Is it possible that a key on the right side simulates the Control key?

Thanks for your answers.

Re: touch I.D. and pass code

2020-09-30 Thread Lorie McCloud
I found a setting in touch id and pass code where I could turn off the
requirement for it to unlock my phone. I don't need it for that. I just need it
for Apple Pay and stuff like that. I have my brightness at 0 and my screen
curtain on. if anybody did happen to unlock my phone out of curiosity or
whatever they wouldn't see anything.

Re: Saving passwords on my Mac

2020-09-30 Thread Lorie McCloud
I'm not sure about that. what usually happens in Safari for me is that I'm
asked if I want to save this password in Safari and then there are options for
save, not now and don't save or something like that. you just hit vo-space for
your choice. but maybe you have to have some setting a certain way for that to
happen. I'm not sure about that. it might be passwords in the Safari menu. mine
even makes up strong passwords for me which I never use because I don't know
how to read them.
