Re: vo speaking a different language

2021-01-05 Thread Brad Snyder
Sounds like your VoiceOver Voice is set to Automatically Select based on
Language.
You can change this by going to, VO + CMD + Shift, and pressing any arrow key,
to open the Voice adjustment menu. Then use left or right arrow to select
Voice, then down arrow to change voice selection.

HTH.

The only way I could figure to actually hear the thing on which the

accessible-TAB to and activate the second Add button. Has anyone
else encountered this, and if so, how did you get around it? In
particular, how did you change the icon collection view from column

I just had the strangest experience ever! on the site for my apartment complex

Re: Can't turn off the screen curtain on iPhone

2021-01-05 Thread Jason Judy
I also tried the bluetooth keyboard. F11 or VO + shift + s will not disable the
screen curtain.

I was able to disable the screen curtain using a braille device. But right now,
I'm concerned that the iPhone will not response to three finger gestures - i.e.
toggle speech, screen curtain, etc.

I may consider having the iPhone reformatted if the issue is not resolved.

Thanks, John. How did you access that pop-up menu? I didn't find any
such controls there.

Now, in Big Sur, when you get to the point where you are to choose the

Re: Is mail chimp accessible?

2021-01-05 Thread 'Janina Sajka' via MacVisionaries
Accessible for whom? The recipient of emails sent by mailchimphas a
better chance of recieving an accessible message than with some other
mass marketing email platforms. At least Mailchimp tries to actively
encourage its users to support accessibility in their messages as per
this style guide:

https://styleguide.mailchimp.com/writing-for-accessibility/

Or, do you mean for the mailchimp account administrator? Or some other
role in the process?

Best,

Janina

Re: Home Pod Mini tomorrow.

2021-01-05 Thread 'Kawal Gucukoglu' via MacVisionaries
I got my Home Pod Mini set up yesterday.

I thought that Siri would be more functional as I asked her to read my emails
as she can’t do it on the Home Pod mini but it can be done on the I Phone.

I like the quality of the music. Excellent for phone calls and Face Time. She
does drop the network connection though so I just restart it or turn it off and
on at the mains. Does that happen for anyone else? I changed my wifi settings
so I’m hoping it will be OK.

Kawal.
