Wow. That's almost 9 years at 40 hr/week, 52 weeks a year. I

I used to work with a guy who was the same way. Big guy, maybe 300 pounds but
6’6”. Deathly afraid of heights, wouldn’t even get on a stepladder.

We had a job to service a generator on top of a four story building in downtown
Indianapolis one time. The stairs came up in he middle of the building and the
generator was right next to where the stairs came out. I kept walking over to
the edge of the roof and yelling at him, “Hey Don, you gotta see this - there’s
some girl in the street flashing people!!!”

He wouldn’t go for it.

I have scaled/climbed some of the tallest masts in the CONUS, and been on the
top of many a tall building, but if I don’t have a solid surface under me I’m
not going. There’s a 1600’ TV transmitter mast about a mile south of me I
climbed back in the late 90s in my former career, and whenever I drive past it
I marvel at the fact that I did it. That’s nearly 10 minutes going up in the

I did this one outside of Fargo back in the early 90s when I was a much

My grandmother will be 99 in October, she has told us she'll reach 100, beyond
that she has no plans. She's slipping a little these days but honestly she's
always been a little wacky so it can be hard to tell sometimes.
