Re: [MBZ] Insurance
Your house is in tornado alley and now, also earthquake central... USAA is hedging their bets, looks like. Give State Farm a try for a quote... They gave me a great deal that combined house and car insurance. House is $1,300 and change, and a low use Mercedes for $46 each 6 months. Previous carrier was a bit over $5,000 house appraised at $980,000.. I might have to look into State Farm. Just did an online quote and it ranged from a LOT cheaper to a little cheaper depending on deductible. With about the same deductible we have now its about $1200 a year cheaper. With a much lower deductible its about $1k per year cheaper. I need to go back and see if I can tell when it went up. I have have zero claims with them on this house. The ONLY claim I had on the other house was about 8 years ago when a tree got blown down on the fence and it was something like a $2k claim. I can only think of about 1 auto claim with them in the last 10 years or longer. [MBZ] Red Death
I braved the Red Death again this week traveling by air to Lubbock, TX. I would say life appears to be back to normal as far as airports and air travel go. DFW seemed packed as usual, the planes were all packed. On the way out I had people next to me on both flights. On the way back I was sitting alone in my row on the small regional jet and had an empty seat in the middle on the other flight today. I just got lucky with that one though because otherwise the plane was packed. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Re: [MBZ] 2004 Mercedes Benz 320E 4Matic Brake Question
Robert, I’m not aware of multiple wear sensors, but I guess there could be. Not sure what the value of that is… I realize this is after the fact, but for the future, any time you replace rotors, buy a set of retaining screws, as they’re cheap and I’m sure your dealer stocks them. 201 421 01 71 should be the number, but verify it with your dealer based on the last 8 characters of your car’s VIN. Unless later models changed something, there are not typically sensors on the rear pads. They wear much longer than the fronts are are typically inspection items whenever the front pads are changed. -D > On Aug 21, 2020, at 11:31 AM, Robert Koziak via Mercedes > wrote: > > Hi All, > Yesterday I started changing all 4 rotors, pads and brake wear sensors on > my 2004 320E 4Matic using Genuine Mercedes Parts. [MBZ] 2004 Mercedes Benz 320E 4Matic Brake Question
Hi All, Yesterday I started changing all 4 rotors, pads and brake wear sensors on my 2004 320E 4Matic using Genuine Mercedes Parts. I ran into a few issues. 1 - I couldn't get the rotor screw out so I had to drill it off. Does anyone know the screw and thread size so I can tap for a new screw which I just ordered? 2 - The dealer supplied me with two brake wear sensors. When I took off the sensors on the front brakes they were two different sizes? Called the dealer who said they only stock one size and the second one was not needed. The two sensors are positioned at different thicknesses in the pads which trigger at different times. One is designed as an early warning half way sensor? Anyone else come across this? I ordered the second sensor and will install it anyway. Also are there two sensors on the rear pads and are they different too? I haven't started the rear brakes yet.
