Ah I didn't catch that on first read. I do wonder why the transmission needed a rebuild at under 90K miles, normally those are pretty stout. Would this be one that could have had the broken B2 piston problem? I've only heard of that with diesels. Or maybe Granny had a heavy foot in her younger days? I’m going to go take a look at it when I get back home. Basically like the wagon I have not 4matic though. Woman said the owner was told it needed (apparently) a new ECU (or some computer) to make it run. “She said all the lights come on and battery is new. The dealership said it’s a small computer glitch. Just the kind for that model. It’s about 1000 at the dealership“ I’ll take my scanner and see what it shows. If it’s the ECU a new one will need to be cloned so $1k is probably about right. Apparently you live in a state with no employee protections. In MA you can't do that, when you layoff a position you're saying "we don't need this position anymore". You can't turn right around and say you do actually need that position.
