No, I think he bought it for under $1k and sold it about a year later for about $1k. Worse than Snook, it is rare for him to keep a nice car for more than a couple years. I can just barely remember that car. When I was I high school and starting to become car-aware, we looked up its book value, which back then was over $15k. -- Max Dillon Charleston SC '87 300TD '95 E300 On September 12, 2015 12:24:48 PM EDT, Mountain Man via Mercedeswrote: >Max wrote: >> My father wanted to drive his really nice Adenauer. > >Nice car!! >Does your family still have that car? >Brooklyn, WI has the best known Adenauer restoration place in the >world, Brooklyn Motoren Werkes - beautiful place, Albrecht Stachel. >mao > ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

My youngest has a 17 Toshiba with an i7 processor that we bought in 2010 for close to $1000 at one of the big box office supply stores. Cutting edge laptops would be the i5 or i7, but those are expensive and fail anyway in four years. #1 boy has a four year old i7 that is showing its age. Upgraded the HDD, battery is worn down, it needs an external optical drive, but the screen still runs. Windows has shat on the thing three times since he has owned it. Valero generally thinks different from the rest of the pack. Their MO is to buy up distressed real estate (refineries and stations) and then run them cheap. In the ethanol meltdown a few years ago, they bought up several ethanol refineries. That gives them an edge on E10 Benzin. Interestingly diesel is holding over $3.00 (generally $3.09) in MA but down to $2.93 just over the border in NH. That tells me the MA stations are seriously raping us on price since NH has a higher fuel tax and traditionally prices climb 15-20 cents when I cross the border. Gas is around $2.39 just about everywhere, with the coming of cold weather our slide has slowed but I heard on the radio last night that oil is under $50/barrel so we should see prices continue to slide. -Curt From: Curly McLain via Mercedes mercedes@okiebenz.com To: Mercedes Discussion List mercedes@okiebenz.com Sent: Tuesday, January 6, 2015 1:59 PM Subject: [MBZ] Benzin Coming North on Sat/Sun Benzin was as low as 1.699/gal, with most in the 1.79 to 1.89 range. Re: [MBZ] Benzin
I'm sticking with windows for now. Low end refurbished machines run about $250 or so, new machines start about $400, but not much machine at that price point. Re: [MBZ] Benzin
I have been tracking the lower end laptops for #2 boy. The 15 models can be had for $250 at Fry's. That gets you a dual core, 4 gig ram, and 500 gig drive. They run Win 8 out of the box. Those are good enough to run for a few years and swap out for another. It required a full rebuild and for some reason keeps crapping itself. clay On Jan 6, 2015, at 1:58 PM, Meade Dillon via Mercedes wrote: I'm sticking with windows for now.
