You NEED a 2 day work week if you've got all that other stuff. I have a hard enough time with 3 cars, 2 motorcycles, 4 snowmobiles, a house and a camp... I've tried and tried to figure out how to convert to a 4 day work week (4x 10hr days) but considering what I do (corporate instructor) its not possible. Re: [MBZ] H rated and governors
What Randy said. We use our Plymouth Grand Voyager both to haul lots of kids (they're grown now - have spouses and more luggage) and lumber, M117 engines, etc. It will carry 4x8 sheets of plywood flat on the floor, in the rain, etc. It's hauled a LOT of 8x8x16 concrete blocks for my wife's garden bed projects. The only bad part is that my wife likes driving it so much, that she'll drive it instead of a 300D 2.5T -- thus burning way too much fuel, is less safe, etc. On Wed, Jan 5, 2011 at 10:42 AM, R A Bennell wrote: > Mini-vans are just the station wagons of today. Even owning a pickup truck (Ranger, the last of the mini-trucks) I find the absolute best thing for hauling plywood is my snowmobile trailer, low to the ground and plenty big enough. My old one is 6x8, new one I'll hopefully be picking up this weekend is 8x8'. -Curt Date: Wed, 5 Jan 2011 14:26:32 -0500 From: E M To: Mercedes Discussion List Subject: Re: [MBZ] H rated and governors Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 I agree, things are getting bigger, along with a lot of people. I have little use for such a thing, but I wanted to do a few renovations around the house, and figured over the next few years, it would be handy. Our boostered kids (6 and 7) are getting too big for the back of the 123 when I'm driving (seat all the way back); there just isn't enough room for their feet to be straight, and they aren't tall enough to actually put feet on the floor. The SDL does not have that problem. :) The Chevy Malibu that we're renting this week can only hold 2 boosters, so my son got to ride in the front for what might have been the first time ever. The Accord of today is a MONSTER compared to the Accord of yesteryear, the Civic is now bigger than the old Accord. I'm not saying minvans aren't useful I'm saying for most people driving a big vehicle to go to work isn't as practical as they think it is. Re: [MBZ] H rated and governors
Not before updating those tires first. ;-) Several of the German manufactures had a gentleman's agreement (in the past) to cap their cars at 155, more or less to keep the Greenies off their backs. I suspect the current caps at 130 are to address mechanical limitations. You know, find the weakest link in the chain, and put the cap there. There is a delete option on some AMG models, that removes, or adjusts the limiter. Not sure if it's offered on North American models, but I think it moves the cap from 155, up to 187 or something?? Anyone know the details? It's only available on the AMG models, as they have addressed most of the limitations with their modifications.
