No, no, no. You're trying to get one vehicle to be too many different things. The convertable is for nice sunny days with the top down. The top is only for use when/if you get caught with sudden rain. Otherwise, it sits in the garage while you drive the car with the solid steel roof. Sunroofs are one of things that are like wow when you first have them but then the novelty wears off, although we use the tilt feature on ours a lot, which helps let the heat out. Actually, everywhere I've lived, the sun beating down through an open sun roof just made it hotter. Open side windows seemed to always work better for cooling. But then, SWMBO insisted on leather seats in the Outback and the only trim line with leather that year had a hole in the roof too (which has never been opened after the initial ops check). W220 has the glass roof and the moonroof cover with louvers. Pop the top and let it sit out in the sun when parked. Heat and air does escape enough that you do not pass out getting into the car. Blows ICE COLD once running. You pushed forward or pulled back on a recessed handle and the roof unlatched and slid in the desired direction. You let go and it locked in place. No cranks, motors, or any of that stuff. There was even a nice automatic pop up wind deflector at the front, just like a MBZ.
