the first time in over 30 years.

Always liked them...don't leave your dad in the rain!

Re: Is Brian in need of a rest...or has the time come to cut back on the touring?

2017-05-02 Thread 'Jurgenhaim' via Diamond Headz
He was in pretty bad shape early on during the 50 anniversary tour but came
through stronger later on. Personally I hpe he throws in the towel any time
soon, preferably when this demanding tour ends. I understand the argument
that he's best placed to to know when it's time but we all really have had
it good since 2002 (for me) and as ear;y as 1999 for some others.

2016-10-06 Thread 'Jurgenhaim' via Diamond Headz
I'm sick of the whole thing, far too much of the same old same old at
bluey/greeny! There are similarities to this over on Face book, with the
whole BW/ML/BB's history being rewritten. I'm no defender of the Lovester
but there are kids over on FB making up myths about BB's history when ML
says anything, even before they have actually read his book (or any other
BB related book for that matter). Some at least open and honest about their
distatste for ML (YOU KNOW WHO THEY ARE), and that's fine. It's as if
giving Mike any credit is an act of disloyalty and punishable by being
branded as the enemy.

Some guy was called out by AGD for making sweeping comments about ML
without having read any/the whole book...quite right too!

I see BBC has reported that Brian will be making his rock and Roll album
next year...as much as I have been looking forward to this, who knows?

I fell for it hook, line and sinker (possibly as i wasfr the idea of the

I Guess I Was a Little Rough Assessing Smiley Smile

Yes, I agree! Although means of distributing music info was limited to
pretty much to the New Musical Express, I clearly remember keenly waiting

buying Smiley Smile, I found it a messy album of half promises and some
duds. I knd of wandered away from the BB's around then but around Holland
and Surf's Up, found my way back, feeling it was only an interruption to
their recording career rather than the end?

Apologies for late response, been in Liverpool all week. Nine years, can
barely believe that.

I rarely even visit the Blueboard but expect to bump in to many who do at
the Brian Wilson show next Friday.

Mixed press reviews, along with the expected reaction to them, about the UK
shows so far. Guess I'll find out how good or otherwise Brian's performance
is or otherwise.

65 show UK/World Tour, quite an undertaking for a 75 year old...I feel
exhausted after 3 days of music in Liverpool.

Stay well Jill.

Yes even with a b telly I could tell she was green, never fully recovered!

This is number 8 from a list of 100 things to do before you die in Scotland
from the Herald on Sunday.

It's true, I've made the journey to check it out...took flying monkey
repellent just in case!

8. Enjoy a Dorothy's-eye view of Edinburgh Castle. "Go to the junction of
Bread Street and Spittal Street in Edinburgh at dusk. Beside the shop on
the corner is a blue door. Stand by that door and look up towards the
castle. This is the view of the ramparts at their most soaring. Then
consider this: A man called George Gibson, who was born a few feet from
you, behind that blue door, emigrated to the US in 1930, worked as a scenic
artist in the MGM movie studio between 1934 and 1969 and painted the
Emerald City in The Wizard of Oz. Now look up at the Castle again. See the
similarities?" (Mark Cousins, broadcaster)
