Hello Daniel,

I am experiencing the same error. The sync error is less frequent now, that's 
what I can confirm. I have lost 1000 or 2000 repetitions and had a huge 
schedule because of that. Sadly I can't reproduce the error. If you ever can 
reproduce the error please report it to Peter.

Can you tell us more about the features, you are using? Maybe we can find the 
error together?

1. Did you try any new features? 
2. E.g., did you import Anki cards? Anki cards with sounds?
3. Did you rearrange the imported data fields (from Anki?) import?
4. Do you use tags a lot? 
5. How many cards are in your card set? Mine is at about 26000. ^^
6. Do you use many big files like images or sound files?  What's the total size 
of your Mnemosyne data in MB? Mine is quite big, because of sound files.
7. How does Mnemosyne on your PC behave? Does the software crash? My Mnemosyne 
GUI does crash on the PC.
8. Are statistics windows displayed correctly? I can't read the x-axis on some 
graphs. 
9. How often do you sync? I sync quite often, because I do repetitions on my 
smartphone and when I see a bad card, I do a sync, change the card and keep 
studying.
10. Do you import cards from text files?
11. Do you use any Mnemosyne plugins or special features like latex?

It have the impression that:

The sync seems not to fail so often at the first sync (before editing cards on 
the PC). Therefore: Make sure to not touch Mnemosyne on your PC, before 
starting the sync. Make sure to close the "browse cards", "edit cards" and all 
other Mnemosyne windows except the main user interface before starting the 
sync.

[mnemosyne-proj-users] Deleting same tag twice

Mnemosyne 2.1 on smartphone (most recent version)

I can not reproduce it. It's somehow connected to editing cards.

I just found another bug:  doubleclick on a tag's name in the tag tree to edit 
the name. Change the tag's name. Click somewhere else to finish the operation. 
The tag name will be displayed like this: "ParentTag::TagName". It should be 
displayed like this: "TagName". Close the card browser and reopen it. The tag 
is not renamed

The Mnemosyne UI crashed on the PC. The Mnemosyne process was still running in 
the background (task manager). And also two Qt Web Engines.

Hi Peter,

yes, Mnemosyne on the PC closed itself.  The Mnemosyne process on the PC just 
killed itself. The Mnemosyne window on the PC is not open afterwards  anymore. 
That's why there is no connection anymore.

I did not start a video (livestream), in the moment, when Mnemosyne crashed. It 
ran in the background all of the time. But still, it might be a bandwidth 
problem. Maybe I can reproduce it.

did you Import cards from Anki?

Did you change the card type?

Did you change where the components (e.g. question,  answer, sound, ...) from 
Anki are displayed in Mnemosyne cards?

I have had formatting problem with cards, that I have imported from Anki cards 
and on which I have changed the cards type and the components location 
afterwards. The text of those cards has been displayed in a bigger font style 
and it has not been centered vertically,  but has been displayed more at the 
top.

I could fix the problem like this:

- activate only the problematic cards
- export those cards to tab separated cards
- delete the problematic cards
- import the just created tab separated cards

During sync I got this error:

"Deleting same tag twice during sync. ..." (screenshot attached)

The cards are displayed correctly now.

Even in edit mode I can now edit those cards. Before I reimported the cards, 
they have been displayed blank in edit mode.

Hi Peter,

I can only change the width of the window or maximize the window. The height 
will not change. X-Axis is not visible, whatever I try.

Everything is fine, when I change it to month and then back to week. It only 
happens right after reinstalling Mnemosyne. It's not a real bug. It's a onetime 
very tiny bug.  After once changing to a different drop box value, Mnemosyne 
seems to remember the last drop box value.

Hi Peter,

I have imported an Anki deck of cards. After the import the cards in the set 
had four sides (something, audio, translation, sentence). Since on the question 
side has only been the audio, I changed the position of the audio. Well, now 
the cards don't have a card type in "show cards from these card types". They 
are displayed, even though no card type has been activated in "show cards from 
these card types". When I click on "change card type" "Front-to-back only" is 
active. 
If I try to convert the the cards to twosided cards I get to choose four items 
for front and back side. In the cards browser the cards look like "front to 
back only" cards. Weird.
I can't edit the card type either, there is no card type displayed in "Manage 
card types".

I might have changed the card type to "Front to back - Back to front " card 
type, after changing the position of the multisided cards contents. I am not 
sure.

This would be helpful for me too, because I could:
- use my soft keyboard on my smartphone to ûşë ş₱ëçïãl çhårãçtërş,  which are 
not visible on my PC's keyboard (e.g. for Turkish language or even Arabic)
- get rid of bad cards much more quickly (sometimes bad cards pile up in a set, 
which can be quite annoying)
- add tags to be able to better focus on a subject (because I usually add 
hundreds of cards at a time and afterwards tag them.)
- ...

Hello Adrienne, 

you could use tab separated text files to import your cards (FILE->Import). 
That way you could add bold tags very quickly. 
1. You need six columns in Excel or Open Office Calc. The contents of the 
columns should be , Question, , , Answer , 
2. Copy the table Ctrl+C
3. Paste the table into a text editor (notepad++) 
4. Find and replace all tabs with nothing (use \t to find this special 
character)
5. Find and replace  with \t 
That's how I do it.

Or just use, but notepad++ and copy-paste...

thank you for your great work! The synchronization works now!

0. I have deleted the /sdcard/Mnemosyne/ folder.

1. The first time I tried to sync, Mnemosyne on my phone crashed. (I have 
deleted the folder again and tried again, without any crash! :))

2. After this I've started Mnemosyne on my phone again and synchronized the 
databases successfully! :)

the recent release of Mnemosyne seems to be buggy. Try the prerelease version 
of Mnemosyne. I've had a similar problem too, but when I use the prerelease 
version, I can import and export cards like before. The syncing with my cell 
phone still doesn't work.

Or else, if you want to have your previous working version of Mnemosyne, you 
can download it from Sourceforge. Make sure to  uninstall Mnemosyne from your 
PC and cell phone before you install the old version (uninstalling will not 
delete your data, don't worry!).

Before you try the above, search for the backups Mnemosyne automatically 
creates. Just search for a folder called Mnemosyne, which contains the file 
"default.db" (I don't remember the exact location). If this folder exists 
either on your phone or PC you should be able to restore your cards and 
statistics.

[mnemosyne-proj-users] Multiple tags - little bug / unwanted behavior

Hi guys,

the new autocomplete function is very nice and works fine, when I use my 
keyboard, but if I click on a suggestion, then all tags get deleted. In my 
opinion this an unwanted behavior, clicking a suggested tag should add the tag 
to the other tags.

I am sorry, it still doesn't work, but I don't get the message "About to 
archive old logs...", when I have version 2.4 installed on both devices 
(comment 4.2). This message does not make sense, because right after a clean 
install (deletion of the folder /sdcard/Mnemosyne prior to installation) of 
Mnemosyne on my cell phone there should not be any old logs on my phone yet. 
Maybe the problem is close to where this message gets thrown?

Pressing the back button solves only the issue that the tags get covered by the 
"taskbar" (the bar with the time). This workaround worked on the previous 
version (2.3.6) too.

[mnemosyne-proj-users] Negative Scheduled Cards

Hi guys,

Some bugs:

1. Sometimes I get negative scheduled cards, when I do repetitions on my 
Android phone. And sometimes the counter stops at zero.

2. When starting the software on my phone, it often hangs at the initialization 
step. I have to close the program and restart it and then it works like a 
charme.

I often do repetitions in between Mnemosyne days.
