Drunken disclaimer:
If either person fails to fulfill his obligations whilst drunk then he can
be called nay manner of names such as Quisling, Fifth Columnist, Turncoat
and Dirty Liar.

Being drunk involves having had more than six schooners or equivalent.
Until that point, the loser must bite their tongue and fulfill their
obligations.

Re: [BTMO] Away form

2011-02-13 Thread Steven Millward
So this is the arrangement (from 14 Feb to end of 2010/11 season)?

*Away points*

*Relegated*

*Not relegated*

*0, 1 or 2*

Marcus Wins

No result

*3*

No result

No result

*4 or more*

No result

Steve wins

Marcus wins = Steve has to call for Mick's head and must never offer a word
of support for him again either in person or in any written form.

Steve wins = Marcus must publicly support Mick and must never speak ill of
him again in person or via written communication.

No result = Back to normal bickering.

Note, the change in support for Mick must be genuine and a loser must make
every effort to be convincing in his views.

I'll take the bet if it's relegation *and* 2 or 1 or 0 points away then I'll
agree that Mick is indeed Thick

However for *3 or more* points away *and relegation* then it's even stevens
and we carry on as before, as a kind of neutral territory

RE: [BTMO] Away form

Forget stats - we're either coming good or going to hell in a handbasket.

It's 19 points or 7 and grudge matches against Leyton Orient :-P

So far this season we have averaged 0.31 points per game, so with 6 away
games remaining we should expect a return of 1.85 points. Given 1.85 is an
impossibility, we are either going to draw one game or over-achieve and draw
2 games. Either way, it doesn't look particularly rosy.

But we should never let stats get in the way of a good story or prediction.

The problem with this "scientific" approach is that the person filling it in
starts with a view of where they expect to be at the end of the season and
picks the results to suit. Zero points away for the whole of the rest of
the season seems unlikely.

2011-02-13 Thread Steven Millward
Arsenal have been the best footballing side for many years but they've
always given away too many silly points, often because the foreign teenage
ponces can't face 90 minutes in the cold at this time of year.

Manure by contrast aren't the best team but they have a tendancy to get
results when they are needed (Wolves aside). I can't see them throwing it
from here. It would be very un-Man U

Agree with that.
If we'd have signed Pardew they wouldn't have looked quite so untroubled.

I just can't see where a run is going to come from. We have been
supremely inconsistent all season and our away form is diabolical. A
defeat to the Baggies on Saturday and I think the confidence levels are
going to take a big, big hit. We don't have a regular goal scorer and
that will be our downfall.

It's going to be a massive match between Arsenal & Man Utd at the
Emirates Stadium. Could definitely be a title decider as it comes with
only 3 games remaining and also after Utd have played Liverpool &

After seeing Rooney's brilliant winner against Man City on Saturday night,
it seems it is turning into a 2 horse race for the title; but looking at Man
Utd's remaining fixtures they still have to play Chelsea, Liverpool and
Arsenal away and Chelsea at home so that could smash the whole race wide
open again.

Anyone willing to make a prediction on who is going to win the title?

The game against the shit next week is so big. The Manure win was a big
one as it has kept us in touch, and only losing by two to Arsenal has
left our goal difference intact.

Shit 0 - Wolves 2, we move out of the relegation zone.
Blackpool 0 - Spurs 3
Wolves 3 - Blackpool 1 and we're up to 16th

They'd be excellent odds if TM realises we have to win this one and doesn't
send out a team for a draw.
