Hi, As nice as it would be to have ConTeXt Standalone offer an editor, I personally believe that it should not be done. 1) Those that have TeXlive already TeXWorks At least it is setup for TeXLive and can be set up to use ConTeXt Standalone and other distros at the same time. 2) ConTeXt supports many OSes a) adding editor support opens a big can of worms inorder to be non-eavsive and not clobber special settings that a user might have in place. b) TeXWorks is nice, yet not for everyone. Furthermore on the Mac one has TeXShop, it was the basis for TeXWorks! I would suggest TeXShop to Mac Users. c) No offense to power users, emacs Ug! Emacs comes with a learning curve! Should add something in that beginners and the uninclined might consider a recommondation, where they would be better off using a different IDE. To reinterate, editors and IDEs are a matter of taste. Depending on the platform one is on there are different choices which are easy enough to install and use. FYI: I use SciTE and all files needed to support context in it are in the distribution adn kept up to date (including advanced lexers for relevant file formats, like tex, lua, xml, pdf, w). I tried use all of symbols ie U+2032 ′, U+0027 ' , U+2019 ’ and U+02BC ʼ.
Visual results with using of U+2032 ′, U+0027 ' and U+02BC ʼ are the
same as with symbol apostrophe ' (\prime) ... i.e. bad appearance (very
low or very high with ^ symbol).
Using of U+2019 ’ get error.

Windows (Word) is really bad in substituting the right single
quotation mark for the ASCII (typewriter) apostrophe (U+0027).
This is probably because some people in the unicode world decided that
this be the preferred character to use for apostrophe (for some
strange reason).

[NTG-context] getting text outside cropmarks to work

Under mkii we used to have a running footer that appeared below the crop
marks. Under mkiv I can't get that to work.
The MWE I'm trying (with ConTeXt mkiv from the TeXLive 2013 CD):

Code like this used to work for us in mkii.
I tried it with both marking=text and marking=on, but in either case, I
get neither crop marks nor the text.
(In our real document, I was able to get crop marks with [marking=on].
But not text. And haven't figured out how to get crop marks in a MWE.)

Redefining internal commands isn’t a good solution, what you can do is to use a
layer to place your texts.

When you say redefining internal commands, is that referring to
statements like
\let\pagecutmarktoptext \TopText
?
AFAICT this is the recommended solution, both on the current wiki
(http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Imposition#Cut_marks) and by Hans
(http://context.markmail.org/thread/kpayudrtabsti76i) albeit several years ago;
the current ref man (section 3.4 Page design / page composition) also lists
marking=TEXT as an option for \setuplayout. If this is correct, how is one
supposed to specify the text to display?
Am I misunderstanding the documentation, or is it just obsolete?
If we need to implement this using layers, does anyone have a recent
example of using a layer to place a running footer outside the crop marks?

[NTG-context] Appendix Page Numbering
I use \definestructureconversionset [frontpart:pagenumber][][romannumerals] to make sure the numbering of my pages in frontmatter use Roman numerals. Not only are the pages numbered with Roman numerals, but the PDF index links and PDF page numbers use this as well. I would like to do something similar for the backmatter, but I would like both the page numbers and the PDF index links and PDF page numbers look like A1, A2, ... (for appendix). How can this be done? Hi Hans, I have the following sample: \setuptyping[option=TEX] \starttext \starttyping \input zapf % knuth \stoptyping \stoptext The percent character is in bold font and gray color, but the rest of the commented text isn’t. My suggestion would be to apply the same color and font of the percent character to the rest of the comment. So it is easier to see that the text is a comment. And I think coloring the whole commented text (not only the percent character) is the normal practice in all text editors (if comments are colored at all).
