Subject: [onap-discuss] robot_vm demo.sh failing

Hello,

By following the ONAP-discuss for demo.sh issue added tenant.txt and also
updated the keystone_get_auth.template in openecompete_container
I edited line 30 in /opt/eteshare/config/integration_robot_properties.py to
GLOBAL_OPENSTACK_KEYSTONE_SERVER = https://public.fuel.local:5000/v2.0
(Mirantis OpenStack Keystone endpoint).
Added IP address for public.fuel.local in /etc/hosts in robot VM and updated
ca-certificate
Curl https://public.fuel.local:5000/v2.0 gets response, no issues.
But ./demo.sh init failing with error mentioned below
Also , attached the log.html with this mail

Do I Need to provide the path to certificate?

Thanks,

[onap-discuss] Service Assurance Breakout Session on Friday May 5th

2017-04-21 Thread Gadiyar, Rajesh
Hello ONAP TSC and the Technical Community ?

Intel and AT are planning to host a breakout session on ?Service Assurance?
during the upcoming ONAP developer summit in Middletown, NJ. Our plan is to
reserve a 4 hour slot on Friday, May 5th. AT (Alok Gupta) and Intel (Tim
Verrall, Maryam Tahhan) are leading this effort and will coordinate the
session. Below is a short abstract:

In this breakout session we will cover the need for platform, infrastructure
and NFV service assurance.
Providing tools and methodologies for tracking the service levels being
delivered by NFV infrastructure and VNFs is a challenging area that has not
been fully addressed as yet, we will discuss the types of telemetry and alarms
required to locate and resolve points of contention or failure in these
environments. Expanding on this, we will discuss collection methodologies and
frameworks, common event and metric formats, common distribution schemes and
the integration of this into management frameworks for the virtualized
environments. We will also discuss the implications to ONAP and what we need to
support ?Service Assurance? in ONAP.

Service Assurance
?In the Enterprise or Telco, Service Assurance is the application of
policies and processes to ensure that services offered over networks meet a
pre-defined service quality level for an optimal user or subscriber experience.
?Network Service Assurance practices enable the ability to identify
faults and resolve these in a timely manner so as to minimize service downtime.
This also includes the ability to proactively locate, diagnose and repair
degradations or malfunctions in service quality before users or subscribers are
impacted.
?Provisioning, monitoring and service impacting fault detection for
infrastructure platforms
?Enable Reactive and Pro-active fault detection, fault reporting and
support corrective actions
?Support current Industry Standard
FCAPS<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FCAPS>, Platform Telemetry and flow
Telemetry interfaces
?Support Open Interoperable Interfaces to integrate with High
Availability, NFV MANO, and Service Assurance software elements

A detailed agenda will follow next week.

If you have interest in this key topic, please reach out to Alok, Tim and
Maryam and they will invite you to this breakout.

Regards,
Rajesh Gadiyar

Yusuf,

Can you run the healthcheck and let us know the results?

There may be an issue with the IP address mapping 10.0.6.1:8081. We are seeing
this internally also on another installation.

Thanks,

As I mentioned earlier in the thread. We've got the Questions module [0]
installed on the wiki.

It's essentially a StackOverflow style forum for Confluence. Folks just
need to start using it for it to be useful.

[onap-discuss] ONAP Intro Webinar

2017-04-21 Thread SPATSCHECK, OLIVER (OLIVER)

As requested we will have a 2 hour webinar next week. It will provide an
introduction into ONAP roughly at the same level as in Brian?s tutorial or the
Hackathon at ONS. So if you saw those or if you look at the code or already
onboarded a VNF this is probably not for you. It is intended to get everybody
on the same level before the F2F so we can have a more productive discussion.
The Webinar will be recorded in case you can?t make the time.

Here a doodle poll to determine the date/time:

https://doodle.com/poll/3m9raxbwzqau2hkr

majority wins.

p.s. Sorry we don?t have any earlier time slots due to other commitments? .

[onap-discuss] Support ONAP on multiple OS/Openstacks?

2017-04-21 Thread Dhananjay Pavgi
Hi Lusheng,

Which ONAP Module is responsible for floating IP allocation and pooling?
Whether it uses Network Controller to interact with underlying SDN layer for
connectivity across multiple data centers (read cloud domains).

thanks & regards,

To second to what Dan said, DCAE?s ?production grade? design is multi-region.
It is designed as a multi-tiered multi-region system. Which is natural because
functioning as the sensory part of ONAP, in many situations you would want
DCAE?s collectors and some analytics to be as close to the VNFs to be monitored
as possible. This is also why DCAE Controller spins up additional VMs and
other resources of its own in the demos, ? the same pattern is used for
deploying and scaling DCAE edge sites in other regions.

Regarding using the immutable container pattern for multi OS, I believe most of
the ONAP parts are already following this pattern. The rest are marching
towards that goal too. For DCAE, the current hurdle is mostly constrained by
third party software support (for example CDAP) in containerization and OS.

I also want to point out that ONAP is not a traditional cloud application.
Compared to those, ONAP probably has more complex inter-dependencies and
inter-connectivity between its components, as well as interactions with the
underlying networking functions that the cloud infrastructure provides. Which
could be configured differently by different providers of the same cloud
technology. One example is how the floating IPs are allocated and pooled.

Lusheng

From OpenStack perspective the only requirement for any image to provision

Hi,

I tried to launch ONAP on top of vanilla Openstack(Mitaka) using the heat
template[1]. Except SDC all other components have launched using the same
template. I launched the SDC VM manually(with out heat) as I faced an issue
while launching through heat. But my problem is, when I tried to open SDC using
the portal(logged in as "cs0008" user), it shows as in [2]. If you can't open
the google drive, the image says "Sorry, you are not authorised to view this
page. Please contact Service, Design and Creation administrator".

Does portal pass any keys to access SDC? Please let me know if you want me to
upload any logs.

Hi again,

I noticed that there are quite large files checked in to a few repos in ONAP.
The entire source base is about 1.8GB which is rather large. I know that you
probably don?t want to download all the repos but sdnc on it?s own is 427MB.
For example, in the sdnc the following file is 404MB:

sdnc/oam/installation/sdnc/src/main/resources/distribution-karaf-0.5.1-Boron-SR1.tar.gz

Then in the dcae repos there are three log files of 64MB each

cae/demo/startup/message-router/docker_files/data-zookeeper/version-2/

I would be happy to help reducing the size of these repos just to make it
easier to download.

Cheers.

You need some kind of a proxy that will mimic the vid (portal) I don't know if
it's part of onap , but I'll check ...
But if you want just to bypass it .. you can also create the vid local on
different docker and point to sdc and then login from vid ;)

[onap-discuss] Deployment timeout

2017-04-21 Thread FORSYTH, JAMES
Hi, Mike-

VID polls MSO for status and if MSO doesn't finish in time it does not cancel
the operation.

A couple of things you can do -

1) Change the polling interval to have VID wait longer, when you start the
VID docker image set this var to a higher number (default 1ms)

 -e MSO_POLLING_INTERVAL_MSECS
2)You can go refresh the View/Edit screen periodically refresh the
screen to see if the VF Module was create in A

At the moment I can't launch Clearwater under ONAP as it times out every time.
VID issues the command to launch the VF module, then polls for status 7 times
then gives up displaying the "Maximum number of poll attempts exceeded" error

Is there any way to change the deployment timeout? I've got as far as
launching a Clearwater deployment in ONAP, but it's a pretty complex VNF (12
VMs for the base module) and the default 60 second timeout expires when it only
a third of the way through.

I've gone back to service designer and the timeout appears when importing a VSP

[onap-discuss] Deployment timeout

2017-04-21 Thread ROSE, DANIEL V
VID does not control the timeout of the actual vnf operations in mso, so even
if vid times out you can close the model window and check the status of it in
the vid page for that service instance.

I don't think mso has a timeout, it will continue until something fails so
checking mso for more logs about what failed (starting on the vid gui) is a
good next step.

Subject: [onap-discuss] Deployment timeout

Is there any way to change the deployment timeout? I've got as far as
launching a Clearwater deployment in ONAP, but it's a pretty complex VNF (12
VMs for the base module) and the default 60 second timeout expires when it only
a third of the way through.

I've gone back to service designer and the timeout appears when importing a VSP
as a VF (in the table of Deployment Artifacts) but I can't see a way to view it
in the VSP or edit it in the VF.

Thanks, Mike

Hello Bharath,

May I ask you what issue you experienced when you tried to launch SDC with the

[onap-discuss] [installation] New Heat templates available in Gerrit/Nexus

2017-04-21 Thread Closset, Christophe
/Nexus for each component, named
component_install.sh (e.g. appc_install.sh). This change is motivated by the
fact that Rackspace and OpenStack Heat templates contain the same scripts (with
some slight difference). A change in a script in the OpenStack template would
require the same change to be applied to the Rackspace template. This makes
templates hard to maintain. The new install scripts have some if conditions
that distinguish Rackspace environment from OpenStack environment. The
deployment environment must be provided via Heat (already set in the template).
The post-instantiation script in the new templates only contain a small section
that is used to pass parameters from the templates to the VMs.

2. The new template for OpenStack requires a fixed floating IP for each
component specified ahead of time, including the VMs in the DCAE analytics
environment (DCAE collector, DCAE Postgres DB, 3-VM DCAE Hadoop cluster). This
change will allow DCAE to correctly spin up the data collection and analytics
environment (changes to DCAE are underway)

3. The install scripts include contribution from the ONAP community. We
change the way we install docker-engine: we get rid of the docker
authentication key because it doesn?t work for some. We automatically rename
vNICs in Ubuntu 16.04 and deactivate unattended Operating System updates.

The new templates have been tested in Rackspace and OpenStack Mitaka,
respectively. They are available in Gerrit master branch and Nexus
(https://nexus.onap.org/service/local/repositories/raw/content/org.openecomp.demo/heat/OpenECOMP/1.1.0-SNAPSHOT)<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__nexus.onap.org_service_local_repositories_raw_content_org.openecomp.demo_heat_OpenECOMP_1.1.0-2DSNAPSHOT-29=DwMGaQ=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg=KgFIQiUJzSC0gUhJaQxg8eC3w16GC3sKgWIcs4iIee0=-Uoq3N0qdqtUX5q2Ofm-TjMnWjOaPzrOZb39ypHZBx8=sWzDzTpP1ms7l49C5aXklNPEJmwHXn0Vlfw4mbPuQUM=>

? openecomp_rackspace.xxx: this is old template for Rackspace that

Dear ONAP community members,

We made some major changes to the Heat templates for Rackspace and vanilla
OpenStack. Please see below the list of changes:

1. Removed all the post-instantiation scripts from the template and
created a new, equivalent script in Gerrit/Nexus for each component, named
component_install.sh (e.g. appc_install.sh).

While Slack is a wonderful tool, I'll point out that it has several
drawbacks when it comes to cross-community communication and does have
issues with how people have to be invited into the system, even if using
an 'invite-bot'. The other issue I, personally, have with it is the
account explosion you end up with if you have to deal with multiple "teams".

That all being said, there are currently two (that I know of) IRC
channels on Freenode for ONAP they're

#onap
#onap-meeting <- this one hosts a meetingbot for collaborative meeting
minute taking and is already used by the TSC for their weekly meetings

As I mentioned earlier in the thread. We've got the Questions module [0]
installed on the wiki.

It's essentially a StackOverflow style forum for Confluence. Folks just
need to start using it for it to be useful.

[onap-discuss] Deployment timeout

2017-04-21 Thread Mike Evans
Is there any way to change the value directly in the data model rather than via
the GUI? I've had a look at the various resources exposed on the A data
model and can't see anything relevant there.

At the moment I can't launch Clearwater under ONAP as it times out every time.
VID issues the command to launch the VF module, then polls for status 7 times
then gives up displaying the "Maximum number of poll attempts exceeded" error
message, and, I think, cancels the openstack stack create operation.

Our largest communities have major cross-posting problems along with new
people regularly informing us that they don't know where to send things
because of having too many lists. As such, I can't express how strongly
I recommend only breaking out a specific topic to a separate list _iff_
it proves to cause too much traffic on the general list.

As Aimee pointed out OpenStack, which is a community larger than our
largest community, doesn't do what you're talking about. They use topics
on their lists precisely to get around the mailing list explosion of a
list per project that you're suggesting.

[onap-discuss] Support ONAP on multiple OS/Openstacks?

2017-04-21 Thread Morales, Victor
Hey there,

I?m pretty new about ONAP but maybe my two cents on this topic can be useful.
From OpenStack perspective the only requirement for any image to provision
something is to have previously installed cloud-init[1] service (AFAIK, that?s
the only difference for Ubuntu Cloud images[2]), but personally I?ll recommend
to use an Immutable Server pattern[3](something like docker images or vagrant
boxes). Definitely I like the idea of certify and publish which OpenStack
Release is supported and even better if this could be cloud agnostic. Lastly,
did you consider multi region support?

Thanks,

Subject: [onap-discuss] Support ONAP on multiple OS/Openstacks?

Good morning all,

I would like to start a new thread in order to understand if there is a need to
certify ONAP on multiple OS/Openstacks.

OS
Currently ONAP is running on Ubuntu 14.04 (target to move to Ubuntu 16.04).
Open-O is running on CentOS but I understand from Helen Yunxia (Huawei) that it
should not be an issue to run it on Ubuntu.
Redhat was not considered from a certification perspective due to license cost.
