Thanks Arul.
Understood that the portal redirection can not be disabled but does this mean
that standalone AAI application UI cannot be accessed in Beijing and we will
have to use Casablanca or Master for same?

I know that we have multiple lab setups that gets updated on a daily basis, can

Also can you confirm that all the lads run the same version of OS so that we
don’t have to test multiple instances?

Hey Mohamed,
No matches found is not an error on sparky, it might be with trying to contact
search service or elastic search.
Are you using master release in OOM? Or Beijing?
Can you send me the logs in sparky when you try a global search bar.
The error logs should be available under /var/logs/onap/ in the sparky
container itself.

Re: [ALL] [onap-discuss] ONAP discuss alternatives

2018-10-10 Thread Arul Nambi
Hi Adam,
I think that is a good idea. Especially for searching ability. Sometimes the
same questions gets asked on the mail chain and it is being ignored.
I think you should book a slot at the PTL meetings to bring this up.

Subject: [ALL] [onap-discuss] ONAP discuss alternatives

Hi,

ONAP discuss is something that helps each one of us in solving problems.

I have a feeling that on start mailing list did it job very well however there
is more and more of us.

That's why I wanted to discuss about alternative solution.

What would you guys say if we move our discussions to https://stackoverflow.com/

Let's create our tags there.

I suppose each one of us is using it sometimes so you know how useful it is.

It's created for things like onap-discuss.

Advantages:

  1. New people would easily find answers without subscribing to any mailing
list.
  2. Browsing through questions would be easier/faster.
  3. Less duplicated questions.
  4. Discussion there is more readable than in email chains.

Disadvantages:

  1. Migration.

What do you guys think?

Hi AAI team,

When I setup AAI using OOM, all the other pods are working normally except the
pod named aai-aai-data-router. It kept getting status crashLoopBackOff
I also check the log of it, it shows like this:
vagrant@master:~$ kubectl logs -n onap demo-aai-aai-data-router-6989756cd8-zbp62
BOOT-INF/lib/* : no such file or directory

:: Spring Boot ::   (v1.5.15.RELEASE)

Anyone know how to solve the problem? And does it affect the normal AAI service?
Thanks a lot.

please put in a few more details on what issues you are seeing?

Hi Arun,

we are facing similar issue while loading A UI on ONAP portal, I tried to
pull latest Image from github, but the Analytics URL is still pointing to

export const ANALYTICS_URL = BASE_URL + '/api/v2/storeAnalytics';

Could you please confirm if the changes that are made in order to solve this

Dear ONAP team,

I am helping Steve track down some of the JS failures reported by Nexus IQ tool.

I have a small question to the teams about this. Can I get a confirmation on
the files being
included in *.war artifacts? Are these including both Java and Java Script
related files?

Some of the bogus failures we have are related to Java Script packages found
inside *war files
and we wan to take the right approach to minimize these.

Thanks!
Jess

Hi PTL's,
We need your help for adding support to the languages you use.
Other than java(which is already supported), currently we only have a pilot
going for JS so if you need support for other languages that is listed please
work with us and volunteer a pilot project.

Hi,
Are you using the windriver labs for your deployment?
We have it deployed in AAI windriver lab and it is working fine. Some time the
crashloopbackoff state will resolve on its own. So try bringing up spraky again.
Also you will be needing this patch as well

If you want to see data coming trough AAI-ui. Try to apply this patch and
re-deploy.

We have successfully installed Beijing 2.0.0_ONAP using OOM. All the pods were

I don’t understand your comment about the request not coming from sparky can

The lab has been deployed with OOM - Beijing version.

I have investigated the portal endpoint that you have mentioned, but as far as
I can read it, it parses the request body for the parameter, that does not (and
cannot) come from the sparky-fe and then echoes the whole request body back to
the poster.

Is there some specification to this portal endpoints? All I have found is this
page, but it does not provide information about request body.

Hi Arul,

I am investigating a bug that we have noticed in nokia bout sparky-fe. After
creating VNF it is not visible in AAI UI (I'm assuming that sparky-fe is the
only UI for AAI - if there is another one, please inform me).

I have debug this and noticed, that the page sends a POST on the

information about this endpoint anywhere in the code. Do you know in which
project I can find it?

Besides, I have found that, the method that sends this 'postAnalyticsData' in

this code to the project. I can see that the body has always and empty 'page'

2018-07-12 Thread Arul Nambi
Hi,
Thanks for providing me with the language support that is needed. To be clear
we are looking for languages for which the code coverage needs to be supported.
So if you have one or 2 files in a special language please avoid them.
I have compiled a list with language, project and contact in this page
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Special+Languages+used+in+ONAP
Please correct the form as required. And add any language or project with a
contact.
We will need help with these languages with TODO added in their name.
We will need someone with the following knowledge

  1. How code coverage works in that language and tools to be used
  2. How to integrate with Jenkins.
If someone can volunteer for each language marked as todo and if they can join
the security meeting on Wednesday @ 9 EST we can discuss on how to support code
coverage for that language.
Thanks for the information.

Hi Arul,

Please do include Python as well to the list. There are quite a few projects
that have significant Python code bases. OOF, for instance, is a pure python
project, and would need python support from the tools used for code
coverage/analysis.

Thanks,

[onap-discuss] Duplicate reports on Sonar report

2018-07-06 Thread Arul Nambi
Hi LF,
There seems to be duplicate reports for sparky and babel.
For sparky there are 2 reports based on the snapshots 1.20 and 1.3.0. I think
when we changed the snapshot version a new report was generated.
1.2.0 has not been updated in a while(since March) . Is it possible to remove
the old report?

2018-06-28 Thread Arul Nambi
Hi Catherine,
I looked into clamp's code base and I could not find the scripts. Are these
committed to the repo? It will be good to look at a sample implementation.
I have a few questions about the approach

  1. I am new to Istanbul so not sure what you mean by code coverage counter
and hooks(a sample will be great)
  2. What is the need to run a Robot Framework? My understanding is that
Istanbul can give a coverage report on its own. Why are we including selenium
and RF?
  3. Is the end goal here to create a Istanbul report in JSON format?
  4. How do we plan on adding these steps to Jenkins build?

Subject: [Onap-seccom] [CII Badging - Passing Level] [JS Test Coverage]
Importance: High

Dear ONAP Security Subcommittee, ONAP Community and PTLs,

We would like to discuss the infrastructure that will be required to get
JavaScript test coverage.
We believe that, even if the LF enables the SonarJS plug-in
(https://docs.sonarqube.org/display/PLUG/SonarJS),
there will be a significant setup to be built up in each application in order
to gather the requested inputs for sonar.

Sonar expects that each build gathers the coverage data and transmits that as
part of the build.
So Sonar will then be able to map the coverage data and show it in the
dashboard.
We performed a walk-through of the solution for obtaining JavaScript CLAMP UI
Code coverage. The basic sequence for the solution is:

  1.  Separate JS code from HTML code into separate files;
  2. Inject JS source files with code coverage counters and hooks via use of
the Istanbul test coverage tool set;
  3. Bundle injected JS source files into CLAMP application, and startup CLAMP
as normal;
  4. Startup Istanbul Middleware service using Express/Node.js web application
framework;
  5. Run a Robot Framework (RF) test plan to exercise CLAMP UI via a web
browser session supported by the Selenium Library extension;
  6. When all tests have been executed, four final actions are executed from
within the Robot test suite:
a) Get the raw coverage data (JSON stringifed) from the browser session;
b) Post the JSON coverage data to the Istanbul Middleware service started
earlier;
c) Get the refined coverage data in a zip file containing html files that can
display the coverage graphically;
d) Extract the lcov.info file from the zip file;
  7. Adjust the source file references in the lcov.info file obtained from the
Istanbul Middleware to contain relative path names suitable for SonarQube.
The infrastructure will need to run a build that will require additional
containers to be built and run, as well as complexities in the way to gather
the info

[cid:image002.jpg@01D40EC5.9A6196A0]

Detailed sample implementations for above flow are presented below.

[cid:image004.jpg@01D40EC5.9A6196A0]

We welcome any input from the ONAP Community on this JS test coverage proposal.

If it is confirmed that the above solution is the right way to move forward
then we believe that we should split the JS test coverage into several phases
that will be implemented across multiple ONAP releases depending on each
project's bandwidth:

Phase 1 - Setup the infrastructure
Phase 2- Analyze the SONAR test coverage and build a plan to meet JS test
coverage criteria
Phase 3- Add test cases to meet the JS test coverage criteria

We also would like to discuss this approach with the ONAP Security Subcommittee
since it will impact CII Badging Passing Level.

Many thanks & regards
Catherine & the CLAMP Team

Hi,

If you have the service running, you can examine it with openssl:

openssl s_client -showcerts -connect aai.api.simpledemo.onap.org:8443

The keystore is here:

/opt/app/aai-resources/resources/etc/auth/aai_keystore

Pay special attention to the intermediate cert, there was a short time where
the intermediate cert had a very short valid from period, so make sure you see
2023 in yours:

Certificate[2]:

Hi Manoop,

The steps are captured in Arul's patch: https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/c/55139

You need to assign a free node port to the portal-sdk chart's service. this
can be done in its values.yaml file. The challenge here is with how things are
working today, it is challenging to find a free port.
I found one for you: 30234 is currently not being used by any charts.

Once that is done, you take that node port and default it in the portal-mariadb
values.yaml. This will then be used to update the mariadb's application URL
with the node port. Now it will be able to redirect to your app.

You should deploy the portal chart and test whether you can launch the new app
as well.

Re: [onap-discuss] Port number missing for AAI in portal

2018-06-20 Thread Arul Nambi
Hi Santi,
Thanks for your suggestion. I am aware of this, but this is a manual step that
I want to avoid, portal has some scripts that they run during the initial setup
where some applications gets onboarded and I think this is where we need to
change it.

The reason why you are not seeing sparky even after making the change in portal
was because of network setting in OOM configuration, I am working on fixing
that. I will be submitting the change today.

Hi Arul,

I have the same error with AAI and xDemo App. I've included the port usign the
"Application Onboarding" menu

[cid:image001.jpg@01D40888.DCB8A590]

If you click in the application you are interested on, a new window appears and
you can change the URL.

I've tried with internal and external ports (9517:32193 in sparky case) and it
doesn't work for me. I've tried the internal port too because i saw that in the
policy case the URL contains the internal
port:http://policy.api.simpledemo.onap.org:30219/onap/policy (pap 8443:30219)

Let me know if it works for you.
In my case I obtain a "browser can't stablish a connection with server
aai.api.sparky.simpledemo.onap.org:32193<http://aai.api.sparky.simpledemo.onap.org:32193>"

[onap-discuss] DMaaP Recommended protocols

2018-06-13 Thread ARUL NAMBI
Hi,

The security team is working on a page(
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Recommended+Protocols) that gives an
outline of what protocols to use and what to avoid. Currently, we have
entries for Rest based clients and adding a section for SSH.

We wanted to add a section for DMaaP(Kafka) as well since it will be used
by multiple services. In my research for DMaaP, I see that there are 2 ways
you can use DMaap

   1. Using the REST-based API client
   2. Through the UI(DMD)

I want to confirm if there is any other way to communicate with DMaaP other
than the REST-based client or the UI. If there are other ways through with
the services interact with DMaaP then we need to add that to the
recommendation list as well.

So anyone from DMaaP team can confirm this that will be great.

Also if anyone else can think of any other protocols that is being used in
ONAP please let us know so that we can update the page.

Thanks

Hi All,

I have installed Kubernetes based ONAP Amsterdam this week on a Ubuntu server.
I am able to access the Portal and the SDC/VID/Policy components from the ONAP
Ubuntu server. But when I try to access the portal from a different desktop
which is in the same subnet of ONAP server , I am able to access only the ONAP
portal ,the other components are not accessible . Kindly let me know how to
access the portal components from other servers.

Note: I have made host entry of the portal apps container and other containers
in ONAP server and portal container . I am accessing the portal directly using
portal apps container and not through VNC portal.

Please find attached screenshot for the portal pods.

Hi Huabing,
In your case the report will be for msb project.
So your project home page URL will be
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Microservices+Bus+Project

And your gerrit repo URL will be
https://gerrit.onap.org/r/msb/

Currently in my testing linux foundation does not allow us to clone under
project level. We will have to talk to CII badging to see if the URL needs to
be useable or is it only for reference. If it has to be usable link then we
will have to ask Linux foundation to let us clone a full project instead of a
repo.
Hope this helps.

Arul

Hi Tony, Steve,

Thanks for the explanation, it really helped.

One more question, do you happend to know how could I submit all the repos
together if I want to apply at project level?

The below screenshot show that only one repo can be submitted per project. I
tried to contact Core Infrastructure Initiative directly to get the answer, but
I can't find their contact information.

Hi Everyone,
If you have seen an email with almost the same subject ignore that, I had some
issues posting the first email so I am re-sending it again. Both emails have
the same content
For getting ONAP carrier ready one of the requirements is that 70% of its
projects needs to undergo a process called CII badging.
CII badging is a simple process(and takes less than a week normally) of
answering some questions about the project. And it is better if you start it
sooner than later.
And the security subcommittee has come up with a wiki page with

  1. More information about the CII
  2. Sample tools
  3. Sample answers to all the questions that you will need to answer to get
your app badged.
The current ask is that 70% of the project should be in passing level, if you
want to go higher than that you can find the sample answers for the Silver and
gold level as well, they are not complete yet but if you find answers then add
them to the page.

Let us know if you have any more questions or suggestions.

2018-01-26 Thread Arul Nambi
team for putting this together.

We had one clarification today in the security subcommittee due to that it is
discussed whether to do the badging at the project level of the program level.

· In general it is fine (expected) to do this at the project level.

· However, a project may decide for different reasons to perform the
badging per repo or set of repos; if this made sense.

· This would imply from a S3P tracking perspective

§ A project has passed if it and it its dependencies has passed.

§ Note: sub-projects are responsible for doing their own badging process.

§ For %complete the least complete value is the %complete of the project

[onap-discuss] CII Badging Attention PTL

2018-01-19 Thread Arul Nambi

Link: https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/CII+Badging+Program
Let us know if you have any more questions or suggestions.
Regards
Arul

Hi Abdelmuhaimen,

The search bar does not require any special syntax.

If your AAI is setup correctly and you have data populated, then you should
start to see suggestions as soon as you type characters.

for VNFs, you can do a search for "VNFs". The suggestion should show up and if
you have generic-vnf created, you will be able to see information on your
screen. The information on that screen will also be searchable.

Francis

Hi.

When I access AAI UI, there is a search box at the top. I tried several search
expressions but it always says it's wrong.

Is there any example showing the correct search syntax to use in this box ?

I don't find such an example in VIEW_INSPECT.MD and VNFS.MD, or is there ?

Re: [onap-discuss] compile about aai-spark-fe

2017-10-31 Thread Arul Nambi
Hi,
Sparky FE is a react application. And I think you are using maven commands to
build the application.
I would not recommend running just the FE, but if you need it for development
purposes, you can run the react UI(FE) as is without the BE for which you will
need NPM and node installed on your machine. Please refer to the readme in the
repo and let me know if you still have questions.

Hi Kumar,
Currently AAI supports v9-v11. So having a v10 or v11 should not matter for
the wiki page about adding data in sparky. But using v11 is recommended.

Hello Arul,

In wiki documentation [1], I observed that api v10 is used for populating the
AAI sample data.
I think v11 should be used instead v10.

Please let me know if it will make any difference.

Jimmy/Arul,

We had a session of usage of AAI-UI. Do you have the recording of the meeting?
Can you please share the link?
Can you please post some learning material about AAI-UI?

Doubts:

1. Whether the AAI-UI is generic? We can use this to view the Titan graph
inside SDC also ?

2. Are there any generic tools to view the Titan database graphs?

With regards,
Murali

If I understand correctly, For authentication with AAI, you need to add an
authentication header in the http request like this

Authorization:Basic QUFJOkFBSQ==

Sorry, There is a minor mistake in the previous response.

Then, you could use
http://{msb_iag_ip}:{msb_iag_port}/aai-cloudInfrastructure/v11/cloude-regions
 to access it

The url should be
http://{msb_iag_ip}:{msb_iag_port}/api/aai-cloudInfrastructure/v11/cloude-regions

The standard URL format is
http://[host]:[port]/api/{service
name}]/v{version number}/{resource}, api is missing in the previous response.

Subject: RE: Re:RE: [onap-discuss] [OOM][MSB][Integration] OOM MSB

Hi Huabing,

For example, to see the cloud details from aai, it provides the api
/aai/v11/cloud-infrastructure/cloude-regions
So access this URI via MSB, should I use
http://{msb_iag_ip}:{msb_iag_port}/aai-cloudInfrastructure/v1/aai/v11/cloud-infrastructure/cloude-regions
It seems that the /aai/v11 part is missing from the registration info.
For the version, I think we should align to v11.
I will modify the registration info to

{

  "serviceName": "aai-cloudInfrastructure",

  "version": "v11",

  "url": "/aai/v11/cloud-infrastructure",

  "protocol": "REST",

  "port": "8443",

  "enable_ssl":"True",

  "visualRange":"1"

  }

Then, you could use
http://{msb_iag_ip}:{msb_iag_port}/aai-cloudInfrastructure/v11/cloude-regions
 to access it

If so, then there are 2 different versions present v1 and v11 and two times
service name presents aai and aai-cloudInfrastructure.
I think this is not right. And the same problem will occur for every service.

OR from CLI, I could use
http://{msb_iag_ip}:{msb_iag_port}/aai-cloudInfrastructure/v1/cloud-infrastructure/cloude-regions
  and MSB will redirect this
To AAI with
http://{aai_ip}:{aai_port}/aai/v11/cloud-infrastructure/cloude-regions
  ?

Kindly help.

Also there is another problem. Every service in ONAP uses its own basic
authentication and there is no common user management
Across services to use with REST API. So How does MSB maintains the credentials
and every service.
The simple answer is MSB doesn't maintain the credentials for every service, if
the service need authentication before access, the clients needs to go through
the authentication process themselves. For long term, MSB propose to use API
Gateway as the entry point for central authentication, to achieve that, we need
to reach consensus with the overall security Architecture first and MSB need to
integrate with AAF. Indivial projects also need to modify their codes. I don't
think we can achieve that in Amsterdam.

Thank you.

Kanagaraj M

Re: [onap-discuss] ecompdb_portal docker exiting with error

2017-08-08 Thread Arul Nambi
Hi Subash,
It seems you are trying to re-create existing tables, I would check the script
and see what it is doing in /usr/local/bin/docker-entrypoint.sh: running
/docker-entrypoint-initdb.d/dbca-complete-mysql-1707-os.sql
From there you can figure out the mysql table exists and delete and re-create
that docker image. I would like to bet that it is the mariadb that holds the
tables.

Hi Sanchita,
Are you asking how to setup MAVEN_OPTS in windows? If so it is an environment
variable that needs to be setup in the Advanced system properties the same
place where you setup your JAVA_HOME. You will have to close and re-open your
command prompt to get the new environment variable.

I documented the fix on the developer page at

"Add the following option to your MAVEN_OPTS in order not to periodically hang

2017-06-27 Thread Arul Nambi
Hey Subash,
The docker image names is wrong for sparky; I will create a PR to fix that. The
version is right value in the scripts but I did notice that it is not available
in the nexus3 repo. I am looking into it. In the meantime to unblock you can
you change the scripts to
docker pull ${DOCKER_REGISTRY}/openecomp/sparky-be:1.1-STAGING-latest;
docker tag $DOCKER_REGISTRY/openecomp/sparky-be:1.1-STAGING-latest
$DOCKER_REGISTRY/openecomp/sparky-be:latest;

For the Data Router microservice, the artifact name is data-router, not
datarouter-service.

Hope this is helpful...

Hi,

deploy_vm2.sh uses plain docker pull. So modify deploy_vm1.sh, remove
:${DOCKER_IMAGE_VERSION} from pull and tag command. Hopefully it works for you.

Hello Subhash,

I think aai is still under migration. You can pull manually by removing tag.
Hopefully this error is temporary.

Re: [onap-discuss] [onap-tsc] Tentative July ONAP Developers Face-to-Face Meeting

2017-06-14 Thread Arul Nambi
Hi Alex,
Time zone issues will persist even when we have the physical meeting. This
will have to be decided on a meeting to meeting basis and the organizers time
zone. At the very least with the virtual meeting, anyone interested has a
chance to attend.
Also there are something’s that we can never solve such as how do you figure
out when everyone is free?

I was not present for this discussion. We need to have a meeting around the 3rd
week of
July to go through project by project progress. Phil and I discussed a virtual
meeting
since folks will be too busy to travel, and some may not be able to.

Would like to get a sense from the TSC community if this is appropriate and more
convenient while voting for dates.

thanks

[onap-discuss] Documentation for creating a new portal

2017-05-10 Thread Arul Nambi
Hi,
I am trying to find the documentation on how to create a portal application
that I can onboard into ONAP.
I found this page
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Creating+a+Portal+Application which gives
information about what kind of development environment I will need. And the
rest of the information on how to develop it and integrate it into Portal seems
to be a part of the document <>.
This file seems to be missing and I could not find this document anywhere else
in the wiki,. Can you please point me to a place where I can find it?
Regards
Arul
