Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Evergreen log in problems

2018-11-15 Thread Oxford, Susan
There are a total of five staff who use the two computers. Do each one of them
need their very own unique workstation name instead of them sharing the few we
have?

Thanks,

Susan

Hello Susan,

Your workstations have likely lost their registration due to cookies being
cleared in Chrome. You'll need to contact the administrators at your library or
contact BC Libraries Cooperative (as you're a Sitka
library) for further assistance.

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Saving shared buckets

2018-09-07 Thread Oxford, Susan
Hello,

We're trying to share buckets and wonder if a shared bucket can be saved on the
computer that receives a shared bucket?

  1. Enter the bucket ID and click Load Bucket.
[Copy Bucket Interface]

  1. The shared bucket will display and can be worked with the same as any
bucket you own.

A little birdie also just reminded me that you can find your Evergreen release
in the web client by clicking on the About page from the hamburger menu in the
upper right corner.

I hope this helps!

Hi Susan,

It sounds like Martha is sending you in the right direction for help on the
ezproxy issue, but as an added tip for getting help on this list, I would
highly recommend that you contact your sys admin to determine what exact
release of Evergreen you are on. The reason I asked the question was because I
was trying to ascertain if you already had the fix that opens links in a new
tab or if there was another unexpected issue you were running into. There are
big differences between 3.0 and 3.1, and, even within each major release, each
monthly maintenance release has been loaded with bug fixes lately, especially
ones that improve the web client. If we know which specific release you are on,
it makes it easier for us to help you troubleshoot whatever issue you are
encountering.

Thanks so much!

What version of Evergreen are you on and is this problem in the web client?

There is a problem where the browser prevents you from opening links with http.
You can open them by using CTRL-click to open the links in a new tab.

A fix was added to the most recent maintenance releases so that those links now

Hello,

We have been using our Zebra label printer for a couple of years now and it
worked perfectly. We recently updated to a new 3.something Evergreen and got
our zebra printer working of sorts. Today for the first time ever our Zebra
printer is giving us a message that we need to update drivers. I don't know if
we really do have to update our drivers for the first time ever or if this is
some exciting new Evergreen feature bug.

Thoughts?

I'm not aware of a way to break the call number label field automatically in

the " Item Print Label - Width for Left Label" on the Settings tab so that it

I did get it to show the $0.00 but that is all.

We countered some mystery with the price sum. Though using the same code, a

Eventually it showed up, still using the same code. Very weird.

2018-02-15 Thread Oxford, Susan
Thank you. Do you have information about the process for changing the TT2
files that store the default print templates so that they would meet our
requirements on day 1 without the individual libraries needing to change
anything unless they really wanted to.

Thank you,

Susan

Diane,
All the receipt template code will need to be changed with the move to 3.0. I'm
not sure if it's made it into the official documentation yet, but you are free
to refer to the documentation I've written up for PINES here:
https://pines.georgialibraries.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=circ:workstations:receipts
And field reference here:
https://pines.georgialibraries.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=circ:workstations:receipt-content
When we did our upgrade in January, I took the opportunity to change the TT2
files that store the default print templates so that they would meet our
requirements on day 1 without the individual libraries needing to change
anything unless they really wanted to. This helped make it a much smoother
transition.

Susan and others,

Thanks for the feedback, I wished I had know beforehand that I picked a session
on a Canadian holiday.

What led me to pick that day, just so you know my thinking, was to pick a date
that had the most votes on the free Doodle(.com) poll I included in my previous
emails. Out of the six respondents that was the one date that the six could
make it.

If there is interest I can hold a 3rd IRC practice session. I would again use a
Doodle poll to try to determine the best time to hold the next practice
session. Remember you only need a valid email address to fill out a Dodle.com
poll.

Hope this helps,
Yamil

Hello,

At the 2016 Evergreen conference I gave a lightning talk
presentation on how easy is to get started with using the Evergreen
IRC channel. Which is used by the community to collaborate and answer each
other's questions.

Here is a longer version of the presentation with more information…

http://goo.gl/w3zml2

In this presentation I postulate that if you…

1) have ever sent a text message

2) have a web browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer)

… you can pull off giving IRC a try for yourself.

This will be an hour long session for newcomers to practice using IRC
to be held on Monday, May 23 @ 11AM EST. This will be a designated
practice time, so no one feels like they are interrupting others.

Thanks in advance,
Yamil
