[openstack-dev] [puppet][horizon] - Add extra plugins config to puppet-horizon

2016-04-14 Thread Marcos Fermin Lobo
Hi all,

I have a question about puppet-horizon module and UI plugins for Horizon.

Some of UI plugins, like murano-dashboard, needs to add extra parameters
https://github.com/openstack/murano-dashboard/blob/master/muranodashboard/local/local_settings.py.example
to local_settings file (which comes from Horizon).

My question is: Should puppet-horizon module provide those extra parameters
coming from each official UI plugins? or this kind of things should come from
specific a puppet-{ui-plugin}?

Thanks.

Cheers,
Marcos

[openstack-dev] [horizon] - oAuth tab proposal

2016-03-31 Thread Marcos Fermin Lobo
Hi all,

I would like to propose a new tab in "Access and security" web page.

As you know, keystone offers an OAUTH plugin for authentication. This means
that third party applications could access to OpenStack cloud resources using
OAUTH. Now, this is possible using the CLI but there is nothing (AFAIK) in
Horizon.

I would propose a new tab in "Access and security" web page to manage OAUTH
credentials. As usual, this new tab would have a list of OAUTH crendentials
with buttons to approve and remove them.

Please see a simple mockup here
https://mferminl.web.cern.ch/mferminl/mockups/horizon-oauth-mockup.png

Comments, suggestions... are very welcome!

Cheers,
Marcos.

[openstack-dev] [containers][horizon][magnum-ui] - Stable version for Liberty?

2016-03-24 Thread Marcos Fermin Lobo
Hi all,

I have a question about magnum-ui plugin for Horizon. I see that there is a
tarball for Stable/Liberty version, but it is very simple, just Index views,
any "create" action.

But I see a lot of work in master branch for this project, but is not
compatible with Horizon Liberty. My question to people in charge of this
project is: When the code is stable, do you plan to backport all the
functionality to Liberty version? or just go to Mitaka?

Thank you.

Regards,
Marcos.

[openstack-dev] [puppet][ec2api] - Official EC2 puppet module repo

2016-01-29 Thread Marcos Fermin Lobo
Hi,

Since I finished to "apply" for puppet-ec2api module as official puppet module
in OpenStack (see https://review.openstack.org/#/c/252959/ and
https://review.openstack.org/#/c/251857/), I saw that the puppet module
repository is created https://github.com/openstack/puppet-ec2api

But the repository is still empty.

I already have the code for this module here
https://github.com/cernops/puppet-ec2api, so I was wondering if some step more
is needed from me in order to fill the official repository.

Thank you for your attention.

Regards,
Marcos.

[openstack-dev] [ec2api][murano][rdo] RPMs for ec2api and murano

2015-09-08 Thread Marcos Fermin Lobo
Hi all,

I would like to announce that I'm building the RPMs for OpenStack EC2 API
https://github.com/stackforge/ec2-api and OpenStack Murano
https://github.com/openstack/murano (server and client) for stable/kilo.

At this moment, I have those packages up-and-running in single VMs and
connected to Packstack instance, in order to test the RPMs.

As soon as I finish my sponsorship as Fedora packager
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1257178 I'll push those RPMs to
upstream.

Also, I've started a puppet module for OpenStack EC2 API
http://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/openstack-dev/2015-September/073402.html.

If you have any question, please contact. All contributions are very welcome.

Regards,
Marcos.

[openstack-dev] [ec2api][puppet] EC2 api puppet module

2015-09-01 Thread Marcos Fermin Lobo
Hi all,

The standalone EC2 api project https://github.com/stackforge/ec2-api does not
have puppet module yet. I want to develop this puppet module and my idea is
start in a public Github repo and get feedback from the community. All feedback
and collaborations will be very welcome.

I would like to start requesting your suggestions about the Github repository
name. I would suggest: puppet-ec2-api

Sounds good for you people?, more suggestions?.

Thank you.

Marcos.

[openstack-dev] [horizon] - Access to project info in horizon/base.py

2015-04-07 Thread Marcos Fermin Lobo
Hi all,

I would like to know if it's possible to get project info inside this function
https://github.com/openstack/horizon/blob/stable/juno/horizon/base.py#L839

I don't know if this function is executed before or after login action, so I
don't know if is possible to get the scoped token and, then, the project
information.

Some idea?

Cheers,
Marcos.

[openstack-dev] [horizon] - Add custom JS functions to dashboard

2015-02-16 Thread Marcos Fermin Lobo

Hi all,

I would like to add some (own) JavaScript functions to the image list,
in Project dashboard.

I've followed up the documentation
(http://docs.openstack.org/developer/horizon/topics/customizing.html#custom-javascript),
but I think it is outdated, because that documentation refers to
directory tree which is not the same in (for example) Juno release. I
mean, there is no:
openstack_dashboard/dashboards/project/templates/project/ (check
https://github.com/cernops/horizon/tree/master-patches/openstack_dashboard/dashboards/project)

So, my question is: Where should I write my own JavaScript functions to
be able to use them in the image list (project dashboard)?. The
important point here is that my new JavaScript functions should be
available to compress process which is execute (by default) during RPM
building.

Thank you for your time.

Regards,
Marcos.

Hi everyone!

I wanted to propose Marek Denis (marekd on IRC) as a new member of the

asset to the development team. Not only is Marek a strong developer working
on key features being introduced to Keystone but has continued to set a
high bar for any code being introduced / proposed against Keystone. I know
that the entire team really values Marek?s opinion on what is going in to
Keystone.

Please respond with a +1 or -1 for adding Marek to the Keystone core team.

[openstack-dev] [horizon] - Customize image list in project dashboard

2014-09-29 Thread Marcos Fermin Lobo
Hi all,

I would like to know if is possible to customize the image list in project
dashboard in Horizon Icehouse. I want to make some modifications in the HTML
table, but ONLY for image list in project dashboard.

- Is it possible?

- How can I customize this view?

- Is there a procedure to customize specific HTML's in Horizon?

The modification that I want to do is this:
https://ask.openstack.org/en/question/48479/split-image-list-in-n-tables/

I've deep on the code and I realized that I need to re-define these HTML's:

- /horizon/templates/horizon/common/_data_table.html

- /horizon/templates/horizon/common/_data_table_table_actions.html

- /horizon/templates/horizon/common/_data_table_cell.html

I've achieved to re-define _data_table.html file for image list on project
dashboard, I've just copy paste that file to
/openstack_dashboard/templates/images/ directory and change the value of
template parameter to images/_data_table.html in Meta class [1]. I tried to
do the same procedure to re-define other files, but the django and horizon
loaders don't check on /openstack_dashboard/templates/ directory for
table_actions and table_cell re-definition (Meta class doesn't have parameter
for more templates).

Thank you.

Best regards,
Marcos.

[openstack-dev] [glance][tags] - What is the purpose of tags?

2014-09-26 Thread Marcos Fermin Lobo
Hi all,

I'm looking information about TAGs in Glance (2014.1.2-5.el6). In the official
documentation for developers[1] I didn't find nothing about this topic.

In the Glance database there is a table called image_tags but I don't know
what it is?. I imaging that it is useful for organize images but, I don't find
nothing about tags in Horizon (Icehouse) images panel or python-glanceclient
(1:0.12.0-1.el6) help.

I only found this webpage [2] related with TAGs concept, but nothing like:
ok, using this commands you can manage the image tags.

Please, could someone give some information about tags in Glance and what is
the plan for this feature?

Best regards,
Marcos.

[openstack-dev] [kesytone][multidomain] - Time to leave LDAP backend?

2014-09-01 Thread Marcos Fermin Lobo
Hi all,

I found two functionalities for keystone that could be against each other.

Multi-domain feature (This functionality is new in Juno.)
---
Link:
http://docs.openstack.org/developer/keystone/configuration.html#domain-specific-drivers
Keystone supports the option to specify identity driver configurations on a
domain by domain basis, allowing, for example, a specific domain to have its
own LDAP or SQL server. So, we can use different backends for different
domains. But, as Henry Nash said it has not been validated with multiple SQL
drivers https://bugs.launchpad.net/keystone/+bug/1362181/comments/2

Hierarchical Multitenancy

Link: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/keystone/+spec/hierarchical-multitenancy
This is nested projects feature but, only for SQL, not LDAP.

So, if you are using LDAP and you want nested projects feature, you should to
migrate from LDAP to SQL but, I you want to get multi-domain feature too you
can't use 2 SQL backends (you need at least one LDAP backend) because is not
validated for multiple SQL drivers...

Maybe I'm losing something, please, correct me if I'm wrong.

Here my questions:

- If I want Multi-domain and Hierarchical Multitenancy features, which
are my options? What should I do (migrate or not migrate to SQL)?

- Is LDAP going to deprecated soon?

Thanks.

Cheers,
Marcos.
