Re: How can I find all results for keyword/value "internet_access = wlan" and "internet_acccess:fee = no"?

2020-03-18 Thread A Thompson
If you don't need search you can go the GPX route and see them on the map
in five minutes. If this isn't what you need, maybe it will help someone
else:

Go to https://overpass-turbo.eu click "Wizard" and type:

(internet_access=wlan and internet_access:fee=no) in Cologne

and hit "Build and run query".

Then click "Export" then "Download/copy as GPX". Copy the resulting file to
OsmAnd's "tracks" folder, start the app and in My Places>Tracks>Tracks
select the file and turn on "Show on map"

After you've done it once, you can get any OSM query showing in OsmAnd in
five minutes with this method! (My favourite Android file manager is
"Ghost Commander" (FOSS), and I use Dukto and Trebleshot for transferring
files between Windows PC and Android - both free, no Ads)

The charging current on my motorbike varies between 450 and 670 mA so that
should be ok.
I have bluetooth on and wifi on. I can turn wifi off but I do not expect
that will change much.

Perhaps I just have to change the battery.

Hello! Thank you for the feedback.
You can try to force close OsmAnd on the smartphone and then refresh file
manager and try to find/copy the needed file.

No, it is not normal.

When driving with power connected, I find the battery stays fullish
(car, but surely your motorcycle can provide 500 mA at 5V!).

I have had problems when not only running osmand but also running an
opencellid tower collector and not being in cellphone range for an hour.
But it was mostly overheating, not battery running down.

When hiking, I find that using osmand (GPS and screen) for an hour
really does use a lot of batteery. Maybe not enough to go from 100% to
0% in 1.75 hours, but 3h wouldn't shock me.

I guess you should check to see that your phone really is getting power.

Also I would put the phone in airplane mode if you are riding where
there isn't cell service.

Hi Peter,

sorry for my late answer, but thank you for your explanation, your solution
works very well.

I've two notes for all interested:

1) If you don't see any results on the map, you have to resize it.

2) If I click all categories in my custom search first, and then search for
the checkbox "Internet access type" in the filter, I cannot find it.
The solution for me is, only click one type, for example "Food". Here I
get the checkbox, activate it and then save your custom filter.
After that, you can edit the custom filter and add all the other categories.

Re: Voice??

2020-03-18 Thread Helmut Jarausch
You could try the following
Go to the menu / extensions / OSMAnd-development
Tap on the 3 vertical dots and go to settings. There scroll down to "test
voice announcements"
It displays a list of available languages.
Tap on the desired language.
You get a list announcements in English. Tap on one and you should here the
message in your language.
I once had a similar problem.
I uninstalled my language and reinstalled it again. This fixed the problem.

Track files not visible and new profile kml also

2020-03-18 Thread danilo.baggini
Why a track saved into a directory by Osmand menu is not visible from a PC file
manager connected to the smartphone ?
The same file is visible from a smartphone file manager.
If a change the track name with the smartphone file manager I can see the file
from PC.
The same situation, but with whorse effect, was presented by me for the a new
profile .kmlA new profile created by Osman was not visible neigther from PC nor
from Smartphonebut a .kml profile copied yes...it was visible.
I think it is to check if Osmand save the file with some attributes not
correct
Best regards

Danilo
