You seem to misunderstand our relationship.

Packman does not follow openSUSEs definition of tested and supported.
The whole reason we have started this repo is because we don't :-)

Additionally everyone seems to misunderstand that we are not here for
providing multimedia capabilities and other sketchy apps for openSUSE.
That might be the impression that openSUSE is giving, because it's the
only situation where openSUSE points to Packman, but it's not what
Packman is about.

We build software that is not shipped as part of distributions or that
are shipped as an outdated version. This includes ffmpeg 3.0.2.

If something needs to change, it's openSUSEs understanding of what
Packman is and with expectations openSUSE gives people about Packman.

And if you need someone that 'just' rebuilds your sketchy packages and
is taking all the risks this brings you are at the wrong place here,
sorry :-)

I think the bug is that kodi links against ffmpeg-2.8 and libX. And

against ffmpeg-3.

I doubt that as simply building against ffmpeg-2.8[1] is avoiding the crash.

It looks like ffmpeg-2.6 is used for this kodi. We can add yet another
ffmpeg variant and force it via pkgconfig() in kodi.spec.

That sounds like a good idea.

Since ffmpeg 2.8 is used since a long time already its not really a new

14 days isn't really a long time IMHO :-) And as you can see on the kodi

Hey,

this seems to be a bad combination as it leads to crashes in libavformat
in av_opt_next whenever something tries to play sounds.

There are already some user reports for it in the kodi forum.

http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=238443=av_opt_next

Building against FFMPEG 2.6 which is the supported version by kodi fixes
this. BTW this is also true for your kodi 16.0 packages Sagi.

Olaf seems to me we need to get ffmpeg into a state where we can have
multiple versions installable side by side.

That's just another layer of indirection isn't it? Whatever Sagi deems

You can also do project links. Setup a project, project link Mulitmedia,
