Hi:

I don't know if this is what your looking for, but take a look at speedfan.
I believe it gives you different temperature for different parts of the PC.

I didn't even realize programs like that existed. Somebody needs to
write an accessible one. Intel Active Monitor, which came with my
system, was horrible. I wound up disabling it.

[PC-Audio] Streaming at 128kA

2006-09-13 Thread Jardata Mail Services
Hello List!

I have a 128k internet station; however, I can only stream at 56k using the
Shoutcast Winamp Plug-in. I also own the Sam Encoder Plug-in. I am using the
legacy mp3 configuration, which means I can again only stream at 56k. I think
the Sam Encoder can stream higher, but I am not sure how to do it.

Are there other encoders that work like the Shoutcast Server and/or Sam encoder
that allows you to stream at 128k or high bit rates? If so, do let me know
what one it is and how to find it? If Sam Encoders can do it, describe how to
do it.

Re: [PC-Audio] Fw: ACB Radio Streams

2006-09-13 Thread Dana S. Leslie
Personally, I prefer to have all my streams available in one place, on my
own web site, rather than have to remember which stream is bookmarked in
which player, etc. and, as long as I'm maintaining such a resource for
myself, I thought to make it available to anyone else who might care to take
advantage of it, especially when away from any such system they maintain for
themselves on their home machines.

Another way to save the various ACB Radio stream URLs is to add them
as a bookmark in Winamp but you will need to update the bookmark if
the URL for the stream changes. So there are lots of ways to do the
same thing, just choose what method suits you best.

Re: [PC-Audio] Fw: ACB Radio Streams

2006-09-13 Thread Dana S. Leslie
So far as I gathered from the site, the ACB Tuner is just a page on their
site, containing engines for selecting the various streams. I didn't notice
any downloadable app to manage them, etc. Or, are you talking about simply
downloading an offline copy of their page? In either case, my downloading
such an app or page would work for me. But it would not make the resources
conveniently available, all in one place, for folks who have not done the
same, or who are traveling away from their own home computers, etc.

I don't know any easy to use and accessible program that will mesure the
temperature real time.

Who knows such a program. Especially freeware stuff will be apreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Re: total recorder question

2006-09-13 Thread Dean Martineau
First, make sure you have lane_enc.dll set up in this
folder: C:\WINDOWS\system\Lame_Enc.Dll

Next, go into the Recording Source and Perameters dialog, and make
sure Convert using "Recording format" specified below is
checked. then hit space on the Change button to open the dialog to
set the recording format. You will have a combo box to choose the
file format, also various presets for common formats.

Hope this helps.

Dean

Re: Why the iPod is losing its cool

Hi,

There were several news stories a week or so ago stating that this wasn't
true. It was supposedly investigated and there wasn't any evidence to prove
it.

Do they really? I had no idea they broke. What a crappy device. And
the way they treat those workers is wrong. I gave up on trying to use
IPod Shuffle and now just use a satellite radio.
