Hi guys, I have a bunch of MP3 files which I would like to normalize. I've
not done this before, and I am not an audio engineer so am wondering if
there is an easy-to-use program I can put these files through to normalize
the volume. Free or reasonably priced preferred. Thanks, Norma

Hello,

There is a program I've heard of called Levelator. I know it's for Mac but
don't know about Windows. I also don't know about price. Hopefully somebody
else can shed some light as I have only heard about it in passing.

Re: goldwave and normalization of files

2013-08-02 Thread Colin Howard
Greetings,

The function you need to use is the maximize volume, within which use the
full dynamic range preset, read the settings and decide if this will suit,
as it will find the maximum level on each chanel, displaying the time at
which it occurs and, of course, this may not be the same on each stereo
chanel.

Gain versus Normalization of MP3's

2012-08-07 Thread Rich De Steno
What is the difference between the effect of running MP3 files through
the program MP3 Gain or normalizing them with MP3 Direct Cut? My
impression is that the normalized files all sound about the same volume,
while the MP3 gain processed files have clearly different volumes. What
are the relative merits of each process, assuming they are indeed different?

Hello,
I have about twenty recordings recorded at the same volume level. I would
like to find a program that can boost the volume of all of
the files up the same amount. in other words, I want a file to be louder,
but at the same level of loudness compared to the other
nineteen files. Is this possible? If so, are there any free software that
can do this? I tried mp3 direct cut, but it gave me
different db levels for each file every time I normalize it.

Awaiting your response,
Timothy
