Re: Converting stereo .mp3s to mono
Barry, Thanks. I just converted half a dozen files successfully. Or I think. I'll have to try to play them on my Sansa. The subfolder seems a good idea to keep things clean. But when they're converted, they go to my documents/my music/mp3 and have to be copies to my Sansa from there. That works. Hi, Barry,, Again, I say that I tried to do this your way, but the list of mp3 files that I wanted to reencode would not appear in the window. Only a path to the Program Files\CDex folder. Re: Converting stereo .mp3s to mono
Joel, .wav files are large. But they're not THAT large. I'm sure you can fit, at least, an album or two's worth of tracks on a 2Gb player. I guess it all depends on how much material you want to keep on the player, at any given time. and, as I suggested, if you do run into space problems, you can always convert the mono wav files back into mp3s. But, this time, since your source files is mono, so will your output file be. - Original Message - From: "Joel Deutsch" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Friday, June 11, 2010 6:08 PM Subject: Re: Converting stereo .mp3s to mono Dear Dana and Doc, I'm a little confused. Re: Converting stereo .mp3s to mono
Hi Joel, if you have GoldWave here is what you need to do Open your stereo file and hit ctrl+A to select the whole track. Go to the effect menu and choose stereo submenu. From there, go to the channel mixer... and hit enter. Use the arrows to find monomix. Hit enter and Wayt for the process to be finisced. Now you can save it as an mp3 again. Hope this helps On 12/06/2010 00:08, Joel Deutsch wrote: Dear Dana and Doc, I'm a little confused. Re: Converting stereo .mp3s to mono
Hello Joel, I could be a little off here, but converting the file to *.wav is the only way you'll be able to change the phonics of the file from stereo to mono. But like I said, you can convert the files back to *.mp3. But only, the new *.mp3 files will be in mono rather then stereo. The files that are on store bought CD's, are*.cda. Hope this helps. My best regards.
